      • the hoyts ones are still working, not sure about event

        • When did you last try one of the $5 ones? Trying to book Wicked for during the week, wasn't working :(

          • @Uncle Roger: my hoyts $5 one is still working

            • @gusk12: Thank you for the reply! Managed to work it out with them :)

              • @Uncle Roger: Thats good, glad you got it sorted. Hope I dont have any problems

My Land Cruiser get recalled to replace the whole engine.

    • +6

Were you expecting just to ship them the engine?

      • +2

        Lol jv.
There are no listed LC engine recalls. Maybe cooldog's ECU needs an adjustment like some recent Toys.

      • Wouldn't that be cheaper than shipping a whole car?

        • -1

I'll take it to my local post office and ask

        • It would be cheaper to drive the car from the factory to the customer.

          • @bio: You mean drive the engine without the car? Logistics companies hate this one trick!

            • @Maker1: You only need gas, and a few wheels.

    • +1

      Oh what a feeeling!

    [Toyota Owner]

According to their website, you do not need to be an owner…

    • +2

That's correct - I just signed up and bought the tix without being an owner.

Toyota isn't accepting paint fault that is peeling off and is a manufacturing fault saying it's normal wear and tear on a 8 year old car. All services done through Toyota and took good care of vehicle.

    • -1

My 20 year old prado and 8 year old rav never had paint peel. sounds like a skill issue

      • -1

My 20 year old prado and 8 year old rav never had paint peel. sounds like a skill issue

White Corollas (colour code 040) have a peeling problem acknowledged by Toyota.

Sounds like a "being confidently incorrect" issue.

        • +3

Toyota acknowledged this for Corollas manufactured between 2007 to 2015.

8 years ago is 2017.. Skill issued yet again

      • "Facebook has Toyota Australia Peeling Paint" group where people have confirmed peeling paint issue is manufacturing fault for certain colour codes and have had their vehicles repainted by Toyota Australia. Seems like Toyota Australia painters' "skill issue". 😂

Can someone confirm, are these tickets for particular movie, date & show? or it can be used for any movies in the future.

    Thanks

    • Got the vouchers last time.

    • Generic vouchers.

What I haven’t confirmed is, someone reported last time that if you choose weekend sessions after 2pm, you’ll be sent unrestricted movie tickets instead of restricted ones which have a “can’t be redeemed on Sat & Sun after 2pm”

If you give that a go, pls reply here and confirm? Thanks

      • doesn't work, got a not valid after 5pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday voucher.

        • Well that's .. idk if that's worse or better than the >2pm Sat/Sun restriction? Wow never seen that kinda restriction before tho.

      • +1

Correct. Last time, I got the unrestricted voucher for the tickets which I selected for sunday after 2pm session.

        • welp, the person above you beg to differ T_T

      • When is the expiry dates? Going to watch avatar

      • +2

If it helps, I just bought 4 Hoyts vouchers for a Sat 8.30pm session. Downloaded the voucher after purchase & it said restricted (not valid Sat/Sun from 2pm & public holidays), but when I clicked the link to go through & book the seats for the chosen movie, all voucher codes were accepted.

  • Can I join the Toyota Go? I drives Toyota Estima.

    • +5

      I Estimate you can.

  • Was not letting to buy and the site is broken now.

    • Was showing only 5 vouchers can be purchased each calender month, though I did not buy anything this month.

  • +1

Getting "Only 5 vouchers can be purchased each calendar month." but I haven't bought tickets since September :(

    • +1

      Working now

      • +3

Price only shows up in checkout, not when you add to cart. Click on Pay and the amount will be $9 x Number of tickets.

  • I cannot see the $9 tickets, it still shows like original prices … :(

    • Same how to get those??

    • +7

The price becomes $9 each when you get to the end of the checkout process. Also, make sure you choose a standard screening (as opposed to an Xtreme screening), otherwise you need to pay more for the tickets. If you pay by credit card, they do charge a small fee.

After you pay for the tickets above, you can do one of the following things:
Option 1: Reserve a seat online. This does require a booking fee. I was charged an additional $3.50 for 2 people
Option 2: Show up before your session time and get a seat. No extra fees using this method but you might not get a great seat

      • Thanks. Just to confirm, so it works for specific movie, date & time or it can be Generic voucher, which i can use in the future?

        • +2

You need to select the specific movie, date and time to get the voucher

      • Genius. Success!!

      • Super helpful - thanks!
I couldn't use Amex through GPay but worked with paying directly with Mastercard.

      • After selecting the specific movie, date and time, do you get a voucher for the selected movie or it is generic voucher can be used for any movie (just have to go through the process of selecting date, time etc..to get a generic voucher)

        • After getting the voucher, I got an email with a "Select your seat" button (this is the option 1 I mentioned).

When I click the button, it automatically selected the selected movie and session date and time and all I had to do was add the voucher

I did not try to choose a different movie/date/time with the same voucher

          • @RubyChoco: I bought 3 tickets but you can only redeem one voucher per transaction (toyota sent me 3 vouchers).
When I tried to book a movie for tomorrow, I kept on getting a 'voucher not found' error.

            • +2

@deathjr: I managed to redeem two vouchers using the same transaction without any issues…

              • @RubyChoco: "Sorry, we couldn't find that Gift Card. Please check the details and try again."

Each voucher gives the same error. This is for Hoyts btw.

                • +1

@deathjr: Make sure you click the “Add voucher” button to add the voucher, not the gift card button

I hope that helps. Please note that I am not affiliated

                  • @RubyChoco: Thanks, that accepts the voucher but hoyts is charging me an extra $13 for using a dbox voucher I paid $15 for.

      • Which cinema/state did you buy $9 tix for? I literally can nor see a single ticket for $9 at any hoyts, village or event cinemas.

I got charged $15 per ticket because they were dbox sessions and now hoyts is also asking me to pay extra for the "upgrade". Double scammed lol

        • I managed to get two tickets for Hoyts Chadstone (VIC) for $18.40 ($9 each + $0.40 credit card surcharge). I deliberately chose a standard screening, not Xtremescreen nor lux, to avoid paying the extra money

Then, when I selected the seat, I had to pay an extra $3.50 for the booking fee. Therefore, all up, it was $21.90 for two tickets

I cannot comment on the type of cinema/screenings they have at other locations though

          • +1

@RubyChoco: Ah yeah, be ready for the infamous Hoyts "booking fee" ripoff. Surely at some point the ACCC will have something to say about the amount of the fee if not the practice itself.

            • @Igaf: exactly, $1.50 for each seat is a rip off. I mean, technically, it is comparable to self checkout at supermarket, imagine paying $1.50 extra for each aisle you picked items at Coles because you want to use self checkout!

              • @pjbargain15: My last Hoyts booking fee was $1.75/seat. Theatre was about a quarter full.

  • +7

My Hoyts tip is to buy a Saturday/Sunday ticket for a session after 2PM. That way you will receive an unrestricted voucher valid for any session.

    • I ordered Sunday tickets for Village and Event Cinemas, but still got not valid after 5pm Thu, Fri & Sat or Public Holidays.

  • Even President D. J. Trump gives the thumbs up to Toyota https://www.youtube.com/shorts/n9TMN-f2R9k

  • +2

For those who are booking village cinemas tickets, i just booked 3 tickets selecting saturday 3 pm session, but still got restricted vouchers.

  • what benefits do bmw drivers get?

    • +1

      A smokey exhaust

  • +4

i tried hoyts 5 PM saturday and go unrestricted vouchers valid till 2028

    • I should of done the same. Instead went with Event and got restricted.

      • You have to wait until Wed to book on Sat 5pm

      • Just used them for Wednesday night Running Man so it will do.

  • Toyota Go is such a sh*tty app, I am sure the offers are good, as I see people raving, but I can't seem to find a good way to use it. I am trying to find a way to book tickets for Hoyts near me, and it shows $16 after discount, not $9. Not sure how it mentions $9 on deal. I have the account and the car already, but using Toyota Go to book anything feels so counter intuitive, not sure if it is intentional to keep discount usage low

    • The tickets you're trying to book are for XS or DBOX I imagine, and you'll have to pay extra for those even on the Toyota app.

The $9 offer only applies to regular screenings, so you have to pick a day and time when your cinema has a regular show.

I made the same mistake and paid $15 per voucher cause Toyota mislead me into thinking I was buying DBOX vouchers. Even the purchase email states DBOX session but the vouchers are only for regular screenings.

  • Getting this BS atm:

"Our login and registration services are temporarily unavailable. Please refresh this page or try again in a few minutes"

  • Bought the $5 ones from the previous deal, now getting an error saying that they (Hoyts) can't find the voucher, when trying to redeem… anyone else in the same boat haiyaa

  • +1

I managed to buy the vouchers. Here is the fine print:
    1. $9 voucher is only for select cinemas, e.g. there were no eligible $9 tickets for Hoyts near me, but I got for Village. There is a ticket icon on the results that indicate, it is eligible for voucher. There is no filter option for this, so you will have scroll through looking for that ticket icon manually.
    2. $9 voucher is only a reservation that you can enter the cinema. You still need to "book" your seats using that voucher. Booking fees apply additionally if you want to select specific seats, otherwise you walk in at the movie time and hope you get good seats at the counter.
    3. There are exclusions, e.g. voucher I got has "Not valid for movie sessions starting after 5pm on Friday and Saturday.", so yeah read the fine print. Each cinema may have different exclusions and it is not clearly displayed on checkout, so make sure you select the correct day and time to ensure you get the voucher that is eligible for that time.
    4. Some higher tier cinemas, e.g. Village Gold, Hoyts XTRM etc are not fully covered by the voucher, so you may have to pay additional $ on top of the voucher amount to book ticket. Voucher may only cover part of the ticket value, and you still need to pay on top of it out of pocket.

Hope this helps others. This all info wasn't very clear to me from Toyota Go website and I almost opted out of buying the voucher.

  • Got 4 tickets for Event Cinemas, thanks TA!

    Here is few tricks:
-book it for saturday above 5pm, so you can get unrestricted tickets
-pay with apple pay so no surcharge

Expired dates seems 30 September 2026 for Event Cinemas

    • I will try this next time as my tickets were restricted.

  • I just booked the Saturday 9:15 pm movie at events and got unrestricted tickets.

  • Couldn't find a movie at a specific cinema on the toyota go page, however I was able to redeem the voucher for a different movie, and book seats for the original movie I was able to see

Also booking fees still apply at both Event Cinemas and Hoyts

  • I couldn't get the Hoyts vouchers to work in person at the kiosks…

  • Is there a full list of participating cinema venues? So far based off comments, Hoyts, Village and Event are included - wondering if others like Reading, Palace etc would also be included as well.

  • Is this sold out already?
