Looks like a deal if you are looking for a Pixel watch on a plan.
Best to go for the 24 month plan for the lowest cost - $240 ($10 x 24) + $72 ($3 x 24)=$312.00.

Give them your passport this time
Medicare is a good one, free to change 😂
Says no lock in contract cancel anytime.
Can I just cancel the mobile plan and keep paying $3/month for a watch?

Available to customers who sign up or recontract to an eligible plan and purchase a selected device on a 24 or 36 month device payment plan. Discount applied over length of payment plan selected and applied from the first invoice for the device payment. The discount will be forfeited if the customer cancels or recontracts and the customer will have to pay out the full cost of the device on a pro-rata basis, excluding the device discount Optus was going to cover. Not available with other discount offers unless specified. Offer available while stocks last.
So if you don't have an Optus number you can't use number share so the data is pretty much useless?
I'm sure google will use it…
Yeah they got it all already so…
I got a optus prepaid and its not working. So most likely only work with plans.
Getting the below error , "Primary device and ODSA companion gear are not eligible for wireless service sign-up"
Can you use the sim in a phone for data
Yes, just tried that and its working.
@Konjhus: Cool . Unlimited capped data for $10 is really good. Might get another one with samsung watch
Can you do this with the shared number plans they offer for Apple Watches?
This would trigger $70 cashback at TopCashback, right?
@tightarse
Would be keen on getting one if @tightarse confirms
It says…
$399 price drop
when you buy the 41mm variant
Would this consodered as upgrade from galaxy watch 6?
in battery life no.
Do you need to have an existing mobile phone service with Optus to sign up?
Do you need to have an expensive post-paid plan to add on a Numbershare, like with Apple watch?
I'm just wondering that too, $10/month for the 1gb to numbershare… i don't really need that.
The info is contradictory in places. 1GB data would be useful, even without calls, for getting notifications when away from phone.
I have a Samsung watch. Installed an eSIM in it without OneNumber, but it quickly overheats if i try to make a call.
My samsung watch uses lots of data just to update apps, there is a bug atm where 4g is activated randomly when you put watch on fight mode, also wifi doesn't turn on when you put watch on fight mode with battery saving on.
there is a bug atm where 4g is activated randomly when you put watch on fight mode,
Rule #1, never talk about fight mode.
What happens after 24mts? Can cancel?
Thanks OP!!
I was waiting for a deal for the 45mm for the last few weeks. Just placed an order.
Below is from the order confirmation:
Device Credits
You are eligible for a device discount as a $9.45 per month credit for up to 24 months on service number xxxx xxx xxx. To receive this device credit you must maintain an active mobile service on an eligible plan with Optus for the 24 months. If you terminate, port out or change to an ineligible rate plan any remaining device credits will be forfeited and you will need to pay out in full any remaining device charges.
So how much per month we have to pay?
I got the 45mm. So it's $10 for the plan and $3 for the watch, $13 in total per month for 24 months
You are okay with the review about its battery?
@McMaferMur: I usually dont wear a watch while sleeping. It doesn't feel comfortable. So even if it requires daily charge, its fine for me.
Samsung Galaxy 7 44mm Green is also the same price, might be a better choice.

The $10 plan seems not including call and text.
What’s not included
This plan does not enable you to make standard national or international calls, send standard national and international SMS/MMS or make use of premium mobile services. You also cannot use your plan’s included data whilst overseas.
There is an option to buy this Samsung watch outright for $299.
I have had samsung watches before but was keen to try a pixel watch at this price.
Got the pixel watch for the sim.
It has unlimited data capped at 1.5Mbps for $10 which is the cheapest you can find at the moment
eSIM? or you get a physical one too?
Physical
Its the cheapest you can find at the moment, and will be grandfathered in the future so good to have. In the contract they say its a mobile broadband sim. Hopefully in the future they will increased the capped speed
What's that esim watch plan? Does it include calls? What about international roaming (to receive incoming SMS for free)?
When you order, checkout says physical sim.
Its a mobile broadband sim so data only but its uncapped @ 1.5Mbps
You can downlaod any esim on these with a qr code using the test feature
I received a watch with a physical SIM, Does anyone know how to enable sim on watch?
@jr0222: Yeah how do we setup the esim? On the phone first? Then on the watch? Where do we get this QR code?
@wingun: Some providers give you a qr code.
https://xdaforums.com/t/how-to-use-an-esim-from-a-different-…
@Whatisthatvelvet: I am able to activate sim on watch, using QR code, here is what I did
Optus signals are not great in my area, I need to manually toggle optus profile from watch to get it activated when outdoor.
@jr0222: Does this mean the physical SIM in my phone and the eSIM in my watch can both operate simultaneously without any additional cost?
@step2au: Yes, that’s correct. However, I’ve noticed that when the watch is connected to the phone, the radio remains off, and it always uses Bluetooth to access the internet.
@jr0222: Good to know. My plan is to use an old Android phone to pair with the watch, and let the kids use the watch with WhatsApp running on an unused but still active number. I’ll keep the physical SIM in my iPhone for data access. Do you foresee any issues with this setup?
@jr0222: I found out that once the eSIM is loaded, the physical SIM will no longer have reception or internet access.
@step2au: Do you mean that once you load the eSIM for your watch, the physical SIM no longer works?
That doesn’t sound right—shouldn’t the watch’s eSIM be linked to your physical SIM number rather than transferred over?
Hi easternculture, is it correct to say that as long as you keep the sim plan at $10 per month, you'll be able to have data on the watch (or any other compatible watch) while the sim plan is active? And you can also put the sim in a phone or whatever to use as hotspot? And both the watch and the hotspot will share that measly 1GB and unlimited capped data? —- assuming you don't have a postpaid mobile plan with Optus…
Sorry for so many questions……
Has anyone had any luck with Cashback offers?
Didnt get it
Didnt track yet
Did it track at the end? ShopBack is now offer $230 Cashback..
Anyone on an Optus plan via Harvey Norman manage to get onto this? The app and website aren't recognising me as having an eligible Optus plan to add it to. I'm on a $69 plan I got with the Pixel 10 Pro.
Chat to Optus maybe?
I was able to do this whilst on the same plan.
So you don't plan to cancel the $69 plan at the end of 4 months by paying the ETC?
Replying because I eventually managed to get a watch on the Harvey Norman plan via chat.
I plan to stay on the Harvey Norman plan past four months because it'll work out cheaper than the month-to-month Boost prepaid setup I had - I still use too much data to make it on the 12-month plan.
Also I weirdly get far better service with Optus both at home and work than with Telstra/Boost.
Just spoke with Live Chat, and they mentioned the HV plan is not compatible, do I believe them? (No)
Worked without issue, so you were right not to believe them.
My usual number is with Optus prepaid and believe this may not work with Optus number share. Few questions….
Can i still use the data sim for data on watch?
I guess the only thing would be no calls or sms? Am guessing WhatsApp would still work?
Thanks
Took the plunge. $10 for a data sim + cheap watch = great deal. Ive never had a smart watch before so have very little expectation of it. It seems decent considering you can still buy it outright for much more than this 2 year plan!
Just a heads up. I didn’t get an order number for 48 hours. I called up to see what’s happening. Optus said they needed to talk to me about approving a credit check and only placed the order after we spoke.
I'm seem to be on the same boat.
I ordered Saturday morning but still haven't received order number other than the one that was displayed on the website when placing order.
I tried online chat but it was useless, so slow to respond and in the end just told me that order is still new and needed to wait a couple of days.
Should I try reaching out to Optus via phone call prior to 48 business hours or wait till after?
Just wondering what you are planning to do with 1.5 mbps even unlimited. I hardly use 10GB on my phone, trying to convivence myself to buy this but not making sense for me.
How did everyone convert the physical sim to eSIM.
I can’t do it from the Optus app. In store and they don’t seem to really know…..
I’m guessing once it’s an eSIM on the phone, you use the watch app to move the eSIM across?
jr0222's post above might help: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/17086090/redir
I personally decided to use the Optus physical SIM in another device and am instead using a $90 EzySim eSIM on the Pixel Watch since that allows me to send/receive calls.
Thanks. I saw that. Your option might be better as you can get a number to use as well. Did you activate using app v1.1?
Yes, the 1.1.0 app worked well for me — it gives you an option to scan the eSIM's QR code and transfer it to the watch. You can then upgrade the app back to the latest version as well as factory reset the watch (as long as you keep the 'delete eSIM' option unchecked).
I don't have use for myself with the 1gb data but I was planning to use it in my kids phone as a physical Sim for his data only and get an amaysim $60 yearly plan for unlimited calls and text as esim.
Is this combination possible to have dual Sim physical (data) and esim (for calls and text)?
I assume 1.5mbps mobile data speed is enough for messaging, location tracking, data voice calls if needed?
The watch will only allow one active esim loaded.
Yeah, it works. Use this physical SIM for data and an Amaysim eSIM for calls and texts.
I’m currently doing something similar with a physical Boost SIM for calls/texts and an Optus data eSIM for data.
It seems that you can’t have both the eSIM on your watch and the physical SIM active at the same time from users comms.
I found out that once the eSIM is loaded, the physical SIM will no longer have reception or internet access.
I thought the eSIM on the watch and the physical SIM would share data, so it feels like a wasted deal since I wanted to try number linking.
The checkout page even says, "Pair your phone with Number Share" for the Optus Choice Plus Watch Plan. I guess I was misled.
Does anyone have experience with getting a new QR code, and can I load it back to my phone instead of my watch?
now that I've cancelled the driver's license that I gave optus, they want my new one so they can sell/leak that too?
