Bought one this morning along with 4x the $29 ones.
Can finally sort my tool pile out.
Only WA stock is in Ellenbrook. They had 6 this morning.

    • Is this compatible with the $29 boxes?

      • it should

      • +2

Yes, I tested it this morning but it doesnt stack with their new stacking system (forgot what its called)

      • +4

Yes 100%. I walked out with it stacked like a leaning tower of pisa. 7boxes on 1 set of wheels.

    • Huh?

      • +6

In another post he cried about it being made in Israel or something. Basically you’re supporting genocide if you buy this toolbox hahaha. Imagine that.

        • +2

          supporting genocide

Can't even find any stock near me.

          • @Yummy: Your soul has been saved by fate.

      • +2

I'm sure DeWalt is going to be absolutely devastated when they read your post.

          • +5

@zubzub: Some heroes have 3-in-1 stackable tool boxes though.

      • i doubt it was made by hamas as part of a state sanctioned manufacturing plant, just people in what is now flattened factory, or was made in west bank which is an invaded territory, also just people being displaced trying to make a living, doubt Palestinians are blowing up buses with dewalt tool boxes.

        • -2

Has it been verified they didn’t use any Dewalt boxes on that infamous October day?

    • +3

      You buy stuff from China?

      • -1

I upset a lot of people last time pointing that out. It's not the same shut up you're ruining my argument basically lol

As the negs prove, they believe you and I are wrong about China. China does nothing wrong.

  • +2

Capalaba and manly west only for my brisbane homies it looks like

  • 3 left in Oxenford QLD at 10am (on aisle top shelf)

  • +1

OP…… Incorrect price in title listing….Bunnings website lists it as $135 not $137

Not sure why the neg vote. The OP changed the price after I posted this but didn't acknowledge it so whatevers

    • Sorry,
Yes, I updated the post. I should have ack-ed.

  • -2

    storage boxes now trending??

    • I read that Dewalt is trying to phase out these. As said, I haven't bought one yet. I have one Tstak box (I think the most shallow one) which came with my drivers combo, and don't feel like I like it. Not so practical

      • -3

sorry just a low effort shitpost.

I didn't even think of it for long enough. just thought I saw 1 or 2 other posts with very similar looking boxes in the picture (admit I didn't click on them) and I remember seeing a bunch of bigger storage boxes during the Kings/4wdSupacentre sale. probably for different uses though.

also my very limited opinion on tools.

I have these super small all steel Stanley screwdriver set, a hand me down. they are very useful for all kinds of fixes or opening things. they started to get a bit rusty (still zero issues though they work just fine def not throwing them out). so I panicked and bought a new Stanley set at all time low on amazon.

I knew they were plastic handles from the picture. but only after getting them I realized the bad kind of plastic. also the sizes are so far apart, I didn't need the super tiny (almost needle like) sizes of all steel ones, but would have been nice to have a size in between for the new ones I got.

super disappointed with them tbh. cost cutting enshittification and planned obsolescence just like everything else. so judging my experience, it would suggest better to buy it sooner than later. very likely, the new ones will be more likely to break and probably have a higher retail price (but also lower sale price, because they cost less to make).

        • I'm not sure whether these boxes would help with rusty tools. I have a hammer from Ikea, pliers from Amazon (their Basic line), all became rusty just after a few months, even keeping in toolboxes

    • Maybe Australia is getting wet …

    SydneyTools (where is the link?)

They pull the links online when deals get too popular. They also hate price matching more than the others.

I think the DeWALT 2.0 4 In 1 Toughsystem 2 Drawer Bundle is better value IMO, well according to my style. The drawers are pretty good size too. Powerpass 280

    • I had been umming and arring for a while but this system actually looks pretty good with the slide out drawers. Been using a tactix hardcase for my main use tools , and the bigger tactix storage boxes for my bulkier gear. But they don’t stack so takes up too much space in my canopy.

      • +1

With what you drive you should be using Packout.

      • +1

I went with Redline drawers from TKD.

      • +1

I had been umming and arring

        Jack Sparrow?

      • +1

Tactix are very confusing, because they have 2 non-compatible systems, plus a bunch of other stuff, but you can get stacking tactix boxes and drawers.

        • yeah i see that now - would be good to have a little system where it has the trolley, a large empty case on the bottom, maybe 2-3 pull out shelves (with the ball bearing rails), and maybe bunch of top open draws on the top (like the dewalt)

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Toughbuilt Stacktech? They have some good rolling drawers. A lot of it is cheaper on Ali too.

            • @Clear: i dont really mind spending $$$ (work will pay for it anyway) - i just want a solution with reliable hinges that wont die from just opening and closing (like the original ozito ones) , one thats uv rated (so they wont die when in the sun that shines through the canopy) , smooth self locking pull out and close shelving, and can stack. the other trades on site give me shit for not just going milwaukee packout - but im just not sold on the value of it tbh.

i dont really care if it has wheels or not , i guess it would be handy. im used to rocking up to most sites atm with 2 x large tactix hard cases anyway.

im kinda half considering buying a basic welder and just welding a monstrosity together (i always wanted to learn to weld anyway)

            • @Clear:

              Toughbuilt Stacktech

prob this one i think as the front runner

              • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I think it would be suitable. If you don't want the rolling toolbox you can get the trolley and stack the newer containers on it with the lock switch. The drawers are smooth, it's inconspicuous being black and very durable. I do like that you can clip attachments on each corner significantly easier than how packout do it.

                • @Clear: Thanks I’ll check out out tomorrow as wanted to do a full reorganise

                  • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: If you have a Tool Kit Depot nearby it'll be a tad cheaper than Bunnings. If you want to wait a month or 2… AliExpress.

                    • @Clear: Unfortunately the only TKD in qld is Gympie which i definitely got no plans to ever return to

  • +1

Seems the Bunnings stock checker is broken for many things now… returns a server error 500 when you check in developer console of browser.

    Was $249

RRP was $220 in 2023. 13% increase in price over 2 years. Interest rate, inflation, or tariffs? Covid ended long before that.
    $100 under and I'm in :)

I got this from the previous deal. I also have 3 of the $29 boxes and another handful which came with tools from the Supercheap 12V clearance. Overall I think I have 4 different versions of cases but they are all stackable.
These are the newest/best with the most robust stacking clips with metal pin hinge and compete tongue and groove type sealing for the lid with waterproofing.
The $29 boxes have the same good clips/hinges and semi complete tongue and groove with no waterproofing.
The boxes which came with the 12V tools are one or two iterations older with the primary difference being thinner plastic clips in one piece with plastic pin hinges. These feel pretty flimsy in comparison.
In general I don't feel like I can fit heaps in the boxes compared to the external footprint, but I still find them handy for organising. They're obviously not as rugged as other options but they are much more convenient moving through doorways and such.

  • +1

Most of my tools sit on those popular hammer-together steel-MDF shelves in the garage, and I just pull them off there. Sure there are a couple of "box with misc tools" on the shelf too.

Any use case for these in that situation or is it mainly for the people who moved them around a lot? Feels like I'm missing something given the popularity of these box deals lol

    • +3

I posted this deal mainly to find out what I'm missing lol

    • I made an ozito box and ryobi box with spare chargers, batteries, and less used tools. Also an electrical box and plumbing box with specialised tools and consumables. Also a car parts/tools/things box and another one for bikes. Still organising the rest.
Admittedly I'm not settled down in my 'forever home' so the portability aspect is a plus. But most of the time it's just going to sit stacked in a nice stack in a corner. I don't think shelves are appropriate when stacking…

    • +1

That is how my tools are currently stored (on open shelves). Have decided to put them all in labeled boxes to free up space and make it look more organised so the wife stops moaning about all my tools.

      • +1

Good idea ."This? No, I've had it for ages, it's just been hidden away in one of the boxes."

        • +1

Yeah, same as those shoes she bought and pretended were in the back of the cupboard all along. :)

  • +2

I went into a Bunnings for a couple of the $29 boxes, said they had stock but nobody could find any. They then offered to pull the middle box out of this set for me which was all good, it got better though when I heard they decided to list the kit with the middle box removed for $75 which I grabbed so my total price for this kit was $104!

    • +3

You scored big time because the deep drawer in this is the successor to the $29 model. Basically it has a gasket seal making it IP54 and better latches.

      • +1

Yeah, I thought it was an upgrade over the on special box, somehow I forgot to mention that to them;)

  • Very good price! I bought the McClaren version a few months ago for $149 and i thought it's good value alr. I dunno what's the difference except the top box and look though 😁

  • +1

I haven't bought one yet - haven't been convinced that it's good enough

If you like to rummage through your tools; are happy to unstack the boxes to get to your tools; and sometimes struggle with the side latches (latching on and off) then the Tstak is for you.

I had a set but sold them off. I even had the drawers too but they are on the smaller side.

I had intention to switch over to the ToughSystem 2.0 with the quick release side latches, but only get the drawers. But DeWalt never released the dolley for it.

I then discovered the Redline range and went with the drawers and dolley. Much better value and good use of space.

  • Managed to get the 3-in-1 TSTAK Stackable Storage Tool Box System for $135 and two of the $29 boxes today from Narrabeen. Thanks OP. Think I managed to find the last ones. They were hidden away, and there to be found, despite the bunnings app/powerpass saying they weren't in stock at that store. So keep looking, you might get lucky. My pile were certainly hidden away in a corner.
