  • Gray import?

i messaged them. they said it's AU stock.

  • I guess the vanilla iPhone 17 model is a better value this year.

I'd say so. 17 has better battery life, includes a telephoto lens, and is significantly cheaper. On the other hand, the Air has a slightly larger screen and potentially better processor, and I saw a video that says the main camera is better (maybe different processing).

The Air is only one with titanium

        • Doesn't matter much as almost everyone puts a case on their phone.

      • My mistake, 17 has an ultrawide lens, not telephoto.

  • This is how much iPhone air should be priced in the beginning. But apart from that, which country is this grey import from? Why can they make it a lot cheaper?

    • I think Dicksmith/Kogan is importing from Hong Kong

      • Does that mean iPhone air is cheaper than base iphone 17 in Hongkong? For australian seller to sell it at this price, they must've gotten it for cheaper than $1.4k

        • This is crazy cheap - even in USA iphone 17 Air cost 999$ (1530AUD). How someone can buy it so cheap?

          • @SunElf: No idea, also price in US is excluding tax which differs depending on which state you are in. So US pricing should be very similar to Australia.

    • I am not clear, how is the iPhone Air can cost so significantly less in other countries?

  • Dick Smith Warranty? I'd want an Apple Warranty for that price.

    • Well you still get Apple warranty

      • I wouldn't be so sure. Apple will find a way to check serial numbers and place of purchase to confirm whether it's Australian stock or imported stock and then tell you to sort it out with the store (dick smit/kogan) instead.

    • To be honest, I’ve been using iPhones for years and have never needed a warranty, they’ve never broken.

  • According to GPT, iphone come with 1 year global warranty, which means you can claim warranty in AU even the phone imported from HK, optional you can purchas applecare plus .

    • Are you sure?

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD, APPLE TV, HOMEPOD, AND APPLE VISION PRO SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, and Apple Vision Pro to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

  • Just wondering if it is pre-ordered or in their warehouse now.

  • Wouldn't mind one, but eSIM only. Grrr.

    • Yeah, limits the options of providers to choose from, as not all offer eSIM as of now.

Prices increased so deal not obtainable anymore
