With 17.5% shopback cashback the Sundara is going for about $186

Indeed. Great value.

shouldve waited champ.

so which is better? Sundara or this?

The closed-back Sundaras no one likes, the open-back Sundaras people used to like but the Edition XS is a lot more popular now for good reason.

Had a Sundara then bought the XS, sold the Sundara and kept the XS. Hope this helps.

Sundara was one of the most uncomfortable headphone i ever worn, it doesnt swivel, pad touches ear, not deep enough. sound was good.
then i got arya, just omg, the most comfortable headphone i ever worn lol.

A year on, multiple drops and still going strong. Very happy with my pair of XSs.

What is "PayPal $12 code"?

A lot of pain incoming buying from Hifiman Aliexpress.

no pain actually.

How so?

I suspect no permission from the minister for war and finance.

Essay / Rant reply, proceed with caution. Mine was used even though the box was sealed. Scuff marks and 3 pieces of free hair as a bonus gift from Hifiman. Then 3 months in, left can stopped working. Warranty turn around 4 months and with all the faffing with boxing and mailing it. Received item was again refurbished and not new but this time no free hairs in the box, just small scratches on wear points. Basically I paid $450 for a used headphone, but all is ok because sound quality was decent when working but not substantially better then my Sennheisers or even the Philips Fidelio. Still was an 'upgrade' for better sounding doof doof music coming out nowadays. Worked for another 6 months then started crackling in both cans (paper rubbing together), another email, this time it was faster….2 months warranty return time from sending the item back and receiving. Again, refurbished / used headphone as replacement. (Luckily no free hairs 2nd time around also but with even more scratches). I just sold it on Facebook for $300 so a $150 loss and moved on. I mean I read about the poor QC on Hifiman on the Internet but the glowing reviews hooked me in. Went back to my 12 year old Sennheiser HD 600 and HD598 and my trusty Philips Fidelio. As for the sound quality over my Sennnheiser using a Topping DX3 Pro+ Dac and Amp with an upgraded $120 headphone cable was 'eh', apart from slightly more bass and mid range punch from the much larger surface area of the Hifiman, the actual sound quality over my HD 598 and 600 were just 'Eh' and definitely not worth the cost and the severe downgrade in comfort. For some less energetic music, the Sennheiser sounded actually better then the Hifiman Edition XS especially music with more female voice. I am planning to get the Sennheiser HD 650 or the 660S2 if they ever go on a crazy special. Problem is, both my Sennheisers refuse to die even after 12 years.

I don't know if this a massive stroke of bad luck or this is normal. Planars generally don't last as long as DD, but your experience is woeful. Why the hell did you never received a brand new set?

This sounds like a lot of stories I've seen out there but can only assume plenty of happy users too that we don't hear from.
I'll cross my fingers mine are ok as it's my first pair of hifiman and planar but I'm certainly not expecting them to last right now…
That's a shocking experience.

Did you get yours direct from hifiman?
Mine is pristine and brand new. No signs of wear. Or bonus hairs

It shows Au $35 shipping for me.

Yep the price above includes the delivery fee

would buy if i didnt have a pair already (i bought mine for almost $700 !)

Damn someone said Arya…not I gotta check that

Wooah. Great price.

These are great. In every way they're better than my ananda's except one. The sound.
But I highly recommend. Especially at this price. Insanely good value.

People like you will fail to pickup which is which from a 320Kbps MP3 to a 192Kbps MP3 to a lossless Wav.

Why do you assume that?
I own ananda neo, deva pro, hd6xx, momentum 4 and have bought and sold more cans than I can count.
But sure. I'm listening to mp3s. On onboard sound no less! How could you tell? Btw most people fail a blind listening test between lossless and mp3.

Hi just wondering how you rate your 6xx to XS? I’m holding out for 6xx to go on sale but this deal has thrown me off! I have He400i and while I like the sound the PU material on the pads and headband barely lasted a year and generally put me off hifiman.

@Bilbo Barggains: The xs is definitely superior. Hands down. They're a tier above the 6xx imo.
Touch wood my current
ananda's and the devas are holding up great. I think their production standards have improved. Generally most manufacturers recommend replacing pads every 2 years but 1 yr is no good

Looks like I paid $315.30
Couldn't decide whether to not grab the PayPal discount and use revolut or use Citibank and cop their shit fee but get PayPal discount.
Not sure I won but hey they're cheap anyway!
Thanks OP - ripper deal. Shopback tracked within minutes.
$311.59 - $41.97 cashback = $269.62.
I ended up getting one as well.. was wanting to hold off, but my ps5 headset is falling apart, so will probably use these instead.
All up $269.70 or so. I'm not sure why cashback was calculated so low at $42. I'm guessing the $40 discount coupon was attributing to the final cashback. As I calculated the total price. Anyway still an ATL
my total was $309.27 ($239.04 tracked), and I only got $30.12 (12.6%) cashback = $279.15… not sure why it's so varied - but still a deal

Shopbacks 17.5% finished yesterday at 7pm.
Agreed that your price is still great for this headphone

Mine arrived today. The package is completely sealed.. I'm tempted to open them up but I'm waiting for my btr7 and balanced headphone cable to arrive.

Decent tho I got the Sundara during the crazy ~$200 sale
