This usually goes for sub $1000 when on sales iirc. Might worth the wait

I don't think Iv seen it that price for a long time.

Costco were doing it just over 1k with the grinder. But the grinder is a bit rubbish

    • -1

Any chance it goes like $800 again

Just click the related product to see the past Breville dual boiler deals and you’ll know that this is a bad price.

Learned a new trick today, thanks.

  • JB has a $100 gift card as well on top.

    • What's this sorry Kulprit? How do you get that?

      • It ended the day after this deal was posted. Also it's still $999 at Myer.

pair this with a good grinders and you are going to be very happy with the espresso shots you get out of this :D

      eureka specialita ?

      • Yep, great grinder!

    • DF54
      DF64

      Both a good pairing too

      • 64 is worth the extra $ for the aluminium dosing cup and the faster grind alone.

  • Goes down to $1152 with code FRENZY25 at The Good Guys

    • Does JB price match TGG price after discount ? I have few JB gift cards that I can use.!

  • Doesn't seem like a fantastic deal tbh! Amazon usually goes for 1199.

Its pretty wild that this is the same machine that was in the $600-700 range 6 or 7 years ago.

    • Its actually wild that Breville hasn't replaced this machine with a new model. Only slight tweaks

and no.. The Oracle doesn't count.. its poo

There are also some Dual Boiler E61 machines on TaoBao (use the app for English interface) in the $900-$1300 range if you're willing to forgo warranty for an arguably better machine

      • What's wrong with the oracle?

        All models of the Oracle?

        • +1

Just personal opinion.. I "upgraded" from a dual boiler and regretted my decision.

It tries too hard to turn a manual process into an automated one and the touchscreen was super laggy and annoying (1st gen)
Inter-grated grinders aren't ideal and are usually sub par

If you're going oracle route you'd be better served investing in a proper machine with an e61 group

          • @Megahowler: I hate touch screens. Would get the old button and knobs version.

I have no idea with our fascination for touch screens that makes everything harder.

Ie. Turn a knob 2 clicks for water temp

            vs.

Settings -> water ->temp > slide to select.

(And it's buggy/ laggy so you will need to repeat each selection over and over)

In the Matrix they say humanity peaked in 1999….bang on I recon!

Yeah. We moved house to one with a much fancier kitchen this year, so i'd love to have a valid excuse to upgrade the 7 year old BDB to a fancier looking machine, but it's hard to justify the price of something like a Lelit Bianca to get something that also makes better coffee.

        • Check out the El Rocio Manus S if you want a step up with a smaller price tag than the Bianca - I'm about to upgrade from my Breville Barista Pro to that and similarly didn't want to break the bank too much with my next machine. About $2k for a good e61 machine!

          • +1

@bolt: That looks like a HX machine, with PIDs. What would be the step up with this one? The group head mass?

            • +1

@kiitos: Hmm, honestly good point - I saw the move to e61 as a benefit, and call me vain, but the aesthetics are a huge plus for me too. It's a beautiful machine IMO. But good call out with HX vs dual boiler, I guess it makes slightly less sense if moving from the BDB as opposed to the BBP like me.

              • +1

@bolt: It does look like a nice machine, especially for the price! But I would definitely miss the dual boilers. Something to consider though if the BDB does die at some point.

              • +1

@bolt: OK, I was genuinely wondering if there was a something that made the coffee better with that one, but yes, the classic look of E61 machines is a factor compared to the consumer-style of BDB etc.

      • Isn't this the replacement?

    • If people keep buying it for this price it will never return to its normal price

  • I asked GoodGuys online sales to beat JB HiFi price $1222 less 100 gift card, and I got it down to $1100. But I can't use the Frenzy offer $60 on top of that.

  • WTF!
Thought these things were around $850 usually when "on sale"…
Still loving mine year on and have no interest in the 'semi auto' crap touch screen version thats recently been released. What a joke that device is (imo).

Uncle Harvey has just dropped to $1222 as well. Are these prices a bit too early for the real Black Friday prices? I need to get one but happy to wait a couple more weeks.

  • I just bought the BES920 from GG with JB price match + $100 gift card off for $1122. I was also wondering about more discounts, but bought extended cover for 5 years for $169 which gives 120% refund of the difference if the price drops on the next 30 days. Also get 3 x $20 vouchers a year for the next 3 years.
    Think I might be covered?

  • Will be selling our 5 year old one with no issues in the near future. It has new boiler seals, probes and stainless steel inner screen.
    Hoping to clear $600

  • Contacted Good Guys on Monday about the price drop to $999 at Myer. We hadn't collected the machine yet from the store after buying online. Good Guys happily beat the Myer price to $990, reduced the extended warranty price and refunded the balance to Afterpay. I'm super impressed.

  • Here's a Dual Boiler price match from JB with Smart Grinder Pro for $999 + $314. Doesn't have free shipping though. I ended up using a different price match without the Smart Grinder Pro. This expires in a few hours, please post if you used it as it can only be used once:
