thanks op, got 2 pairs for my parents. These are very comfy

  • The sizing is a bit hard to interpret compared to Adidas, but hoping a half size up is the right call. Let's see what these are like!

    • it's true to size for me.

      • -1

I don't know what that means! All I know is my sizing in Adidas is a great fit.

      • Turns out half a size larger than Adidas was too small. Need a full size larger. And not sure about true to size, I'm not usually a US 11.

Are these usable as running shoes? They do have "runner" in the name…

    • +4

Not for actual running. Like a brooks or asics would've. But rather a sneaker.

      • +7

So more for sneaking? I'll see myself out.

    • +2

I would say that they’re more of a walking shoe and not meant for proper running

I'm due new shoes because my plantar fasciitis is acting up with my Brooks, but I see lots of reviews saying these are painful, especially in the heel.

    • Thanks for your comment, it saved me.

      Anything you do recommend?

      • +4

Having recently gone through (and still managing) plantar fasciitis, I wouldn't say the Allbirds shoes will help you. For me, it was more than just shoes alone - strengthening and stretching calves, orthotics and shock wave treatment (although I'm not sold on the shockwave).

        • I suffered with it for about 2 years all up. Calf raises were the one exercise that finally cured my issues. I use a seated calf raise machine at the gym.

I had the shockwave machine a few times - it settled it down for a month or so but the issue would re-occur. It is treating the symptom rather than the root cause. Good lick with it.

Allbirds were atrocious for my plantar faciitis. Some people put in Superfeet inserts and they say they are to be ok with that combo.

Hoka Bondi helped me a lot. For other shoes I already owned, I bought Superfeet green and the easyfit (half length).

What worked for me was doing two main exercises as frequently as I could - deep squats for as long as you can and Foundation Training, focusing on the hip stretches.

      Best of luck mate.

Would it suit someone with wide feet?

    • I have wide feet. I went up a size (U10 rather than US9) and the fit is good.

I have some ASICS GT-2000 12 (4E EXTRA WIDE) in a US9. Those definitely fit me a little bit better - but the AllBirds in a US10 fit fine.

I have worn the basic tree runners with no problem. My feet are perhaps a little wide (nothing crazy). I believe these Tree Runner Go have a slightly roomier toe box than the basic Tree Runner.

    • if am a US size 8. Do I need to order bigger or smaller size?

      • Seems like the internet consensus is to not go up a size because then the shoe shape doesn’t line up with foot contour very well.

I can’t see many people ever paying $220 for these ??

    • Only for Instagram points. But that's like like 5 years too late.

  • I had a pair - ultimately went back to Nike. Might give on running a try

    • On are very comfy but watch out for the squeaking issue. Doesn't happen to everyone but can be very annoying and they will refuse to help under warranty.

It said final sale cannot be returned. Is this a final sale? Can I return it if not fitted?

    • +1

I've returned a pair previously due to wrong sizing. All went through smoothly. I'd be surprised if these shoes are being discontinued.

    • Returns page says you can return but has an $8 fee.
      Unclear about who pays shipping.
Nothing I see on this shoes sale page suggests it's a final sale item.

  • is this the same Allbirds car hire brand

    • that's nobirds

  • Delivery is $15 to SA?
