eufy Security S220 Solocam 2-CAM KIT (Homebase 3 Included) $343.20 Delivered @ goodbuyz

360
CART20

Hello,

Was on the fence to upgrade Eufy Homebase 2 to Homebase 3. The previous deal from JBHIFI was a little bit overkill for me with 4 extra cameras.

Since then been watching the deal for the 2-cam Kit.

Good Buyz matched the price with others and made the code "CART20" applicable for this.

Price comes down to $343.20 from $428 with free shipping.

Hope this helps others that was on the fence like me.

  • Thx any idea benefit of Homebase 3 over 2?

    • Compatibility with newer devices and "better". Seems just as slow and laggy as the 2 for me but results vary I guess

Has AI built in that is terrible. only benefit i found it the ability to add an internal SSD to it

  • +1

Some of the newer products are not fully supported by Homebase 2, ie the recording will not be kept in the homebase and also the AI is not active. I have eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 "connects" to Homebase 2, it takes longer time to load the footage and open compared to my 2c camera. I just got the eufy floodlight e340 from Supercheap Auto deal last week that will take benefit from Homebase 3.

    • Also, Homebase 3 storage is expandable with 2.5" SSD. I purchased 512gb for $60 from Amazon as some reviews said it works perfectly with the Homebase 3.

  • Is this a good buy?

Homebase 3 is about $300, one S220 is around $200, thought it's only 2K, and effectiveness of solar largely depends on camera placement.

      • Do you happened to know how long these last without any sun?
Unsure if I should upgrade form my 2c pro

        • Battery alone will not last long, especially when setup in a busy area, battery also degrades over time, so situation will only get worse.

Have you tried third party solar panels? Like this: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/connect-smarthome-5w-solar-pa…

Bought four last year when it was on sale. My uncle has 4 x 2C Pro, he's so happy, never needed to take them down to recharge, since last year.

Mounted the panels along the gutters using this bracket, to improve sun exposure.

      • Ive got an S40 Solocam with Spotlight (these S220's dont have a spotlight) Have to charge it every 3 months as Ive attached tit to a large tree so constantly in shade - other cams E340, S3Pro and others with solar panels are mount and forget with Aussie sun

    Excellent price. Thanks Op

  • I thought the Solocams didn’t use the Homebase?

    • I believe if you have the Homebase, the footage will be stored at the homebase instead of the internal memory of the camera. Also the connection will be then between homebase and the camera instead of using the wifi.

    • I just bought this kit recently and the Solocam can run independently or through Homebase.

      Happy to answer any questions.

The cameras are junk, s3 4k or pro ones are way better.

    • Yes I tend to agree - even the much older S40 Solar Solocam has a spotlight and meshes well with HB3 and Eufy HB3 WiFi so I dont need to turn my wifi on

  • This type of solar/battery cameras are handy and easy to install, but not very reliable.

In order to conserve energy, they are activated by motion, sometimes starts too late, or ends too soon.

A continuous POE/NVR solution is much more robust, though costly to buy and setup, and may not be viable if renting.

Note this company is very hard to get in contact with if you need to return anything or have a support question.

    • Thanks for the heads up. I'll try JB Buy-Fi instead

I bought a s380 from them - DOA took them 1.5 weeks to get back to me and they want me to prove to them the item not working and want me to troubleshoot an DOA item. after 3 weeks I got a replacement.

  • Does anyone know of these use the same mounts as the older versions?
    I have the 2c pro

  • Anyone getting "PayPal wasn’t available. Use a different payment method or try again later." I don't want to use my card details on the site and want to pay with Paypal only.

  • +1

not sure about their own website but they never ever reply my message on ebay , bought few solocam from their ebay store

  • Good price. I bought the same kit from JB some weeks ago for much more.

Wish they would do the new Homebase3 again for $182 again, need a second one. Was an amazing price

    • buy this sell and off load the cameras on the market place.

  • is this generally better than TP link tapo?
    do they record?

  • price with code is $399 for me, not sure whats happened

    • It's because they increased the regular price it was $428 and now increased to $499.95.
