Not worth it if you have a mobile charger or plan to have one. The mobile charger can do up to 32A, however, Tesla only supplies 10A and 15A tails for single phase sockets. With the proper tail, you can connect the mobile charger to an industrial socket. Get this 3 phase socket installed in your house + the compatible tail and you can do 32A and have only one charger.

for such a relatively inexpensive item, I don't see why people would not prefer the convenience and indeed weatherproofing of a proper wall connector vs paying for a specific-purpose and unsightly new power outlet to be installed and then running their mobile connector along the ground. installing a wall connector is not more complex or expensive than installing a 32A socket.

My guess would be a lot more (in the thousands) for the majority of people who probably don't have three phase power at home.

I have 3 phase and had a 32amp socket installed. Mine was close to switchboard so straightforward. Had quotes from 600-850 for the socket, cabling, switchboard stuff.
If you buy the parts yourself as non clipsal stuff would be cheaper if you find someone to install it…

I ended up going for 15A plug from bunnings instead for my MG4, no regrets.. 125km of range added in 5-6 hours overnight. given this Tesla wall is probably 1.1k with install.
I paid $250 for the charger + $180 install.

Hi Mortgagetightass, I also want to use 15A mobile charger but the wall sockets are all 10A. How can I do this? And would you mind posting the bunnings link of this 15A plug? Thanks

@stephencwmok: That would be about 250 to 300 bux minimum charge as they will need to add a circuit to your main switchboard or auxiliary switchboard and do the installation.
You don't really need the industrial outlet, they have normal domestic looking plates as well but according to regulations any 15a circuit needs to have its own breaker and can't be shared with other power outlets to avoid overloading the circuit.

I was initially looking at sourcing my own 7kW charger, but the installer warned me that they can't install a charger not sourced by them because of warranty. I kind of get it - if it breaks, they can't tell if it was their workmanship or the device you bought. Right or wrong, just letting people know that this is a factor.

If you have a device that had all the certifications and an invoice there should not be an issue.

Should take a look at the Evnex chargers they look like they have a sale going on for black friday. The E2 Flex looks like it $649 https://www.evnex.com/au/products/evnex-e2-flex-1 and the specs look comparable. Feedback looks good.
