Prices feel like they keep dropping, I have no idea when to pull the trigger.

    • +7

you can pull the trigger when you buy one.

      • +5

not if you buy the gen5

  • +2

Tempted but my Dyson V10 is still going strong…

    • +1

Hah same, I keep waiting for it to break. 7 years old!

  • +1

    Thank you @hamza23
My 2019 v10 absolute is on its way out

I love you (and your bargains!) :D

    • Can I have your old one?

  • +3

These are awesome prices for a v15. I have absolute detect. The only thing needed that would make it perfect is if the Motörhead also had detect like the fluffy head.

  • +2

hm very hard to know which one to get. I see the gen5 is roughly 0.5kg heavier and seemingly for little gain? Just a bit more suction, better filtering (who cares) and slightly bigger battery. Also the trigger vs on/off button seems to be a differentiator.

  • Just FYI the new V16 improves on the V15 by having more suction, on/off switch (no more holding the trigger to vacuum) along with better bin discharge mechanism so nothing gets caught (tangled hair etc) but cracker price!

    • +1

      However the bin is smaller

    • numerous reviews suggest the newly designed head make dirt pickup poorer than the V15

  • +1

hmm, Gen5 or V15, what to do, what to pick…

  • +1

Awesome, thanks OP… V15 for $658.63 net stacking 3% off eBay giftcards via Bupa rewards 🍻

    • +1

      +3% cashback from TCB too?

      • Thanks for the reminder. Just pulled the trigger

Dyson store in mt Ommaney qld said they could price match eBay price at the $859 mark and also provide 10% off that price further. down to $773. if anyone interested best to call to confirm.

  • I see the v15 $749 , with Novsave code -$50, reducing it to $699. no ebay plus required though.

    • $50 off is 'SAVENOV' no eBay plus required. $70 off is 'NOVSAVE' with eBay plus required, since eBay plus is only $4.99 for a month, that is the better option regardless.

  • Bought it few weeks ago at $870 for v15 from dyson ebay plus. Now it’s $679. I opened & used it. Is there any way to get the difference refunded?

    • +2

Buy it again and return it as the old one brand new new sealed for $870

      • Sounds like a good idea. This has worked for you in the past?

      • U mean buy the new one then use the new one to return under the receipt of old one? But each of them should have their own codes or sth like that to be differentiated by the store?

        • Will they deny a refund over a serial number even if its the same product sold from their store? These guys rip off their customers with fluctuating prices on their vacuums. Buy a vacuum and 2 weeks later its close to $200 cheaper, what scam are they running?

    • Same problem, feeling ripped off thats for sure.

      • You need to up your Ozbargain game….

  • Needing to update my V10. Any comments on v15 vs gen5 build quality.

Love the V10 but it been slowly falling apart. Was going to go V16 but reviews don't seem to rate it.

    • From rtings gen5 vs V15:

The Gen5Detect feels slightly better built, is easier to maintain, and has a more comfortable set of controls, with a dedicated on/off button instead of a trigger. The Gen5Detect's soft roller floorhead also has a brighter light to help you see fine debris on hard floors, and it does a little better on bare surfaces.

      • I’m wondering if all that will counter the weight in hand.
        gen 5 - 2.25kg vs v15 - 1.68kg

        • Yeah coming from the V6, my V15 is already noticeably heavier

          • +1

@Rapt0r: No female would use the gen5. It felt heavy in the hand for a fairly strong male. It will continue to be discounted imo LOL

  • Do I need ebay plus to see the pricing? Or has the deal ended?

    • Still going, eBay Plus required as per title and description.

eBay Plus required. Join for $4.99 for 1 month, if you aren't eligible for a 1 month trial or another promo.

  • Trigger pulled. Been hunting for a vacuum for months and months. Hoping this will last me a good 10 years with a new battery or two along the way.

  • Pricks got an extra $18 (well, technically, $23 since I had to resubscribe to eBay Plus) out of me on Tuesday! 😡 eBay Plus really needs a price difference refund policy if the item price drops within a certain period after purchase.

    • Amazon is the same unfortunately. Only option is to rebuy and return the original.

    • I got done $85 extra 2 weeks ago, rort.

  • What i find interesting is the gen5 detect full price is 1550, meanwhile the v16 full price is 1350.. are they feeling the pinch from the competitors??

  • +1

Was looking at upgrading from my V8 but decided I'm good for now as I don't have carpet. Excellent price for the v15 if you need a vacuum

I got this snippet from Reddit, it's just one user's experience:

I have the v15 and the v8. I can tell you the v8 is a fine vacuum. It is all you need if you don't have carpet. The fluffy head really makes a difference. If you get the v15, you will not be disappointed. It will work better. The only downside is the price and weight. You can get spare batteries and generic tools for your v8. with the v15 you are locked into dysons oem battery patents until 2040 but you can still get generic tools.

    • There are heaps of aftermarket batteries for the V15?

  • Gen5detect™ Absolute now $759 with code: BLK30

  • Gen5 detect down to $759 here now.

Edit: Thanks skido, didn't see your comment.

  • Gen 5 Complete can be had for $829 if you message the assistant to help you check out. I’m tempted but the prices keep dropping, and black friday hasn’t arrived yet.

  • V15 has gone up to $1281 without the code.

  • +1

I just got an email from Dyson eBay store saying they had sold out of the Dyson V8 Plus so were sending a V8 instead with hair screw tool included. Sweet deal.

  • Back in stock for the V15

    • Thanks

    • Thank you!

  • Discount only goes to 1281?

  • +1

    V15 is back @johnwinkle

  • Only 6 v15 remaining as of writing

    • oos again - listing removed from ebay.

  • i went to try look at the gen5 today, that thing is heavy af. as soon as i felt it, i went straight for the v15.

  • V15 is back.

  • Does anyone have a screenshot of the v15 in their cart with discount applied.. want to do a price drop refund but it’s not avail anymore

  • Hey the gen5 detect is back and it's cheaper, after the code it comes to 756 now

    • Thanks, I wasn't going to bother posting it again as it was only $3 more recently. But good heads up to anyone wanting to buy now.
