  • Makgeolli

= It is a milky, off-white, and lightly sparkling rice wine that has a slight viscosity, and tastes slightly sweet, tangy, bitter, and astringent.

And at this stage they're just taking the piss with these deals and using OzBargain as an advertising service.

As far as the soju goes, those are OK prices on Jinro and Chum Churum products. But that Charm Magleun stuff is absolutely vile. It's locally produced garbage trying to capitalise on the K-drinks trend from people who don't yet know any better. Tastes like petrol.

Can't go say the same thing. Don't buy Charm Soju. Didn't know it was locally produced. Had it once because of how cheap it was, didnt even finish a bottle between 4.

Funny thing I actually buy 5x of these Makgeolli because of volume discounts, these are bad, it got plastic taste to it..I been to Korea, they sell these Makgeolli at supermarkets and dirt cheap and they taste way better than these.

    • Most of the time it's because of the storage temperature. bitter-fungy taste come along when these are stored in room-temp, which resumes excessive fermentation.

  • It's supposed to be cold-chain supplied for best taste.
I would suggest using local grocery stores to get these.

  • My experience with my last order of eggs and frozen meats was perfect. Eggs had layers of protection. Frozen meats came frozen. Morning delivery estimated for 4:30pm but got a text around 3pm with the order at my door already.

  • Hard to find good makgeolli in Australia. Most of them contain aspartame, which doesn't help with the hangovers.
