    Come on VIC

    • +4

VIC is on our roadmap. We expect to open up early in the new year.

      Cheers,
      David

      • I feel like there’s been a lack of vic solar deals in general. Sorry I wasn’t complaining about your expansion plans

        • Not at all. We are planning to open there once we can expand a large enough network of installers to cover Victoria.

  • +1

+1 for improving this listing based on feedback from the prev post :)

    • +1

Thanks, appreciate that. We'll keep fine tuning as we find opportunities!

      Cheers,
      David

  • What's the price for a 13 kW solar system addon? Would it couple on the DC side or would it require a separate inverter?

    • Thanks so much for the question. Solar is quoted case-by-case because roof layouts and component choices vary.

If added together with the battery system, it will be DC coupled. You will not require a separate inverter.

      Cheers,
      David

I am still awaiting installation of previous Neovolt single phase deal. Can we switch to this deal as I have a three phase system - thanks David for your previous advice as I do not believe this was an option at the time.

    • +3

Thanks for the question. I definitely recall and enjoyed our conversations on the deal from a few months ago!
Yes, as long as you are within the NSW Metro areas that are part of this deal, we can switch you across to this new deal without any issues.

Just PM me here and I'll make it happen :)

      Cheers,
      David

      • appreciate this, thanks David

  • Cant click submit on the form.

    • +1

Really appreciate you flagging this. The submit button normally works, but in my test just now, if any required field isn’t filled or has an invalid entry it won’t let you proceed. It looks like our form isn’t showing the error message properly, which makes it confusing. Our IT team is fixing that tonight so it’s clearer for everyone.

If you're still encountering issues submitting, please share any details and we will look into it.

      Cheers,
      David

      • When will volts energy battery register with Amber or any other vpp?

  • +2

How does this compare to fox ess or sofar?

  • I am still waiting for 40kwh phone call, no one contacted me yet

    • Hi @chiesel21

Please PM me your details, I will have our team contact you.

      Cheers,
      David

Ok, this makes more sense pairing 10kW inverter with 50kWh batts

    • Good point. The previous setup with a 5 kW inverter worked well for households with steady, lower peak demand. This offer uses a 10 kW inverter, which gives more headroom for homes that draw higher loads at once, so it suits a wider range of usage patterns. - Michael VoltX Energy

  • What are the details for placing inverter and batteries 15 meters away to exterior.

Does the cable run theough the ceiling?

    • Hi @31mop
This really depends on the house. Sometimes through the ceiling, sometimes along an external conduit, sometimes both. We should have the details we require for your property as you have already inquired. Please let our team know and we can review this. Our compliance will do an initial check, then the installer confirms what’s workable on site.

      Cheers,
      David

      • Originally I was thinking garage but I found an exterior area which is more practical and not sun facing.
        It's just further away.

        I've resubmitted form & deposit.

    • My understanding is that the farther away the inverter from the switchboard, thicker cables are required to compensate for wire loss. Thicker wguage wires cost more so expect a price bump.

  • what brand is the battery ? can you do alphaess

    • This is branded VoltX Energy co-branded with Soplanet. Solplanet holds the certifications.

If you prefer Alpha ESS, that deal is still running, just open this offer’s deal link and select Alpha ESS in the product selection
      .
      Cheers,
      David

    • Don't get Alpha ESS. they only have a 5kWh inbuilt inverter. That's not future proofing yourself, especially if intending to get an EV.

      • I’ve read you can have 2 Alpha ESS inverters in parallel with a kit and firmware upgrade. Not sure is Aussie installers have experience doing this.
Would be a good upgrade path in the future.

        • It wouldn't be a good upgrade path. If there's one thing we've learnt is that technology becomes obsolete fast, even with solar panels, they can't add on new solar panels just 5 years down the line, it has to be an all new system. If you want a 10kW inverter, you're better off getting a 10kW inverter now.

      • thank you lucille

  • What's NSW Metro? Just Sydney and Newcastle?

  • any deals on the Hynen 53.4 kWh Battery with 20 kW Three-Phase inverter?

    • We don’t have a promo running for the Hinen batteries at the moment. If you’d like a quote or to see what’s available, you can click the deal button and our team will check your site and options. - Michael VoltX Energy

  • +1

So 50kWh is 10x those 5kWh modules and the inverter?

    • Yes, that’s right. The 50 kWh setup is made up of ten 5 kWh modules paired with a 10 kW inverter. - Michael VoltX Energy

  • When are the deals for SE QLD?

    • We don’t have a QLD offer open yet. We’ll definitely update the listing once a new deal for QLD becomes available. - Michael VoltX Energy

  • If we pay the deposit, can we schedule for April next year ?

    • +1

I think they need to install in 2025 to get the subsidy for this price.

      • how much will the subsidy change

        • The subsidy looks like it's dropping 10% from $340p/kwh to around $310 so that's about 10%. IMO It's not a bad hedge to wait for potentially cheaper prices and for brand issues to surface.

    • This offer is for installations completed before Christmas, so we’re not able to lock in April dates under this promo. - Michael VoltX Energy

  • Can you please share more details on the warranty specifically cycles and battery performance percentage at the end of warranty period?

    • Good question. The battery comes with a 10-year warranty and is rated for around 6000 cycles at 90 percent depth of discharge with about 70 percent capacity remaining at end of life. - Michael VoltX Energy

      • Not as good as Neovolts 8000 cycles but with oversized batteries they should be okay and the cycles last you 10 years at least.

  • Buy cheap, buy twice

    • +1

More like you get what you pay for

  • This is 3 battery blocks right? I only have space for 2, above each other. What would that come to?

    • It comes to 40 kWh if you only have room for two stacks. Each stack holds 20 kWh, so two of them together gives you 40 kWh total storage. - Michael VoltX Energy

      • +1

        I'm on three-phase.

Just to confirm, Neovolt = voltx? Fully support Amber?

Do you have specs on the physical size, and how close The stacks can be installed be to each other on the wall? My wall space is 3m high.

Can these run an aircon during blackout? A/C uses ~3kw

        • Inverter not on the Ambers list (yet).
With ambers smart shift, you want your solar inverter that can be curtailed during negative FIT and maximum discharge during high FIT events.
You may need Home Assistant to manage your imports.

I’ve read horror stories about losing money with Amber with people having supported inverters. So much more if the inverter is not supported.

  • Would there be on site quote for the cost and also where to place the battery?

Does this price include the blackout protection, you could still sue the electricity from the battery during blackout, if not , how much on top to pay for this?

So with existing solar system with 5kw fronius inverter, would this setup too big for me? I have over 20-30kwh surplus on a sunny day .

Just wonder if this setup totally separate from my solar system setup, it is suitable regardless what my solar system is and won’t affect the current settings of the existing solar system?
    Thanks.

  • Do you have a spec sheet for the battery? Trying to gauge the physical size of it

    Edit: nvm found it

It lists this battery ASW5120-LB-G3 - but that has a 5kWh capacity, so 10 in total?

  • Hi OP, is the battery compatible with Sungrow 15kW 3-phase hybrid inverter?

    • Good question. The battery comes with its own hybrid inverter, and we connect it to your Sungrow system using AC coupling. This avoids any brand-to-brand compatibility issues and still lets your Sungrow inverter operate as normal. - Michael VoltX Energy

  • When are you expanding into Victoria?

    • VIC is already on our roadmap. We expect to open up early in the new year and will update the listing once dates are confirmed. -Michael VoltX Energy

  • I'm interested in the 3-phase 53.76 kWh (3 x 17.92 kWh) system. Is it possible to mount the 3 modules vertically, ie 3 stacks high? I'm thinking of an outside install on my garage wall which is 4m high and has no eaves. Thanks!

    • Thanks for checking. The Voltx three-phase system can’t be stacked three modules high, so that layout won’t work. The 53.76 kWh setup can only be installed side by side due to the weight and design of the modules. - Michael VoltX Energy

      • Thanks for getting back to me. What is the minimum spacing between modules side-by-side?

        • The minimum clearance between each battery is 350mm.

          • @Michael Voltx Energy: Thank you. The dimensions of the single phase system are more practical for my location. Is it possible to install that if you have a 3 phase supply? I no longer have any 3 phase appliances (old AC was 3 phase) and not too concerned if i can't have backup power in case of a power outage.

  • -2

I don't know what clowns you have as your sales team and what CRM you have running but i would suggest looking into some better hires and better systems.
I rang to ask how much a retrofit of black out protection would be, only to be told the sales team is in a meeting. Sure, someone can ring me back.

A guy rings me back, saying he missed a call from my number. Wrong, never rung him. He then wonders if my name is Vernon. Nope.

Not giving me any confidence about your organisation.

    • Thanks for sharing this. This is really unusual. That shouldn’t be happening at all. I’ve sent you a PM so you can share your details and I can look into how this possibly occurred and sort it out properly.

      Cheers,
      David

  • Also some constructive feedback. I'm being told there would be a travel fee of $250 applicable to Newcastle, despite Newcastle being clearly mentioned and shown in the linked NSW Metro map as part of this deal. They are currently checking on this and will let me know.

This is after being sent a contract and told just sign it as it won't matter and it's only a basic contract etc. I want to know that the install will work where I want to put the batteries and also upfront confirmation as to whether there will be any additional costs applicable to my install prior to executing any agreement.

    • +1

Really appreciate you sharing this feedback. I've just made some changes based on this feedback / comment.

We do normally charge the travel fee for Newcastle (and Wollongong), but I should have made that more clear upfront in the post. Since it wasn’t clear, we’ll waive this travel fee for you and have the team remove the travel fee for others as well!

If you like, you can PM me your inquiry details, but we are working through updating any earlier quotes either way.

      Cheers,
      David

  • On the 3 Phase inverter how many backup circuits can you have?

    • We include two backup circuits if you add backup functionality. If you need more than that please let our team know as we are able to do it at a cost.

      Cheers,
      David

  • Any Brisbane installs yet from the last deal? Mine was scheduled to be this month but no one's replying to my emails

    • @Twilight

We’re doing a lot of installs each day in Brisbane at the moment, it’s just a queue working its way through.

If you can PM me your order details, I’ll take a look and let you know exactly where things are up to.

      Cheers,
      David

      • Hi David, I PM'ed you can you check? Thanks!

  • the contract says the installation will be scheduled from Feb 2026 onwards, if installation is not completed by Dec 31st, and the federal rebate drops, will the final cost go up?

does the hybrid inverter / app allow for charging from the grid to make the most of off peak rates/EV plans?

    • +1

      @V2L

This contract language is just our standard buffer, and we are now delivering well ahead of those dates.

For NSW metro, your install will be before Christmas. If for any reason it pushed past Christmas and the rebate dropped, we would cover the difference so your price stays the same. We will take the loss, as that would be on us.

Yes, the hybrid inverter and app let you schedule grid charging during off peak times.

      Hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      David

      • Great to hear thank you

  • Had a really frustrating experience yesterday.

No Prep: Called back after a missed call, but they had zero details about my enquiry, only my email. Had to start from scratch.
Wrong Info: They quoted the limits of the Alpha product (max 2 circuits) even though I was asking about this specific offer. I had to correct them on their own deal.
Address Flip-Flop: First told my address wasn't covered, then suddenly it was after they spoke to a manager. Confusing!
High Pressure: Then came the classic: "Sign the contract right now to get the deal, it's today only and limited stock."

Honestly, David, not a fan of that high-pressure sales BS. If there are massive conditions like "sign immediately" or coverage limits, ensure the 'sales' team are across this.

    • Hi @BexForHeadache

Really appreciate you sharing this. None of that is how we want these conversations to go, and the pressure to sign immediately is something I’ll address with the team on Monday.

The product mix up and the back and forth on coverage shouldn’t be happening.

Just to give context, we’re dealing with hundreds of enquiries a day right now, and overall the process runs smoothly, but this one clearly didn’t.

I've PM'd you to request some details so that I can review how you contacted us, and how this could happen.

      Cheers,
      David

  • I have a 5kw inverter with panels, do you replace my 5kw inverter and if so what happens when i need to get new solar panels.

    • @Burfo
We leave your existing 5kW solar inverter in place and add the hybrid inverter alongside it to manage the battery. If you add more panels later, they will most likely go to the new battery inverter. The installing team will review whether they go on your existing inverter or on the hybrid inverter depending on string limits and roof layout.

      Cheers,
      David

  • Can anyone help me understand. I'm on Three Phase so I guess I'd do this:

We are also offering our VoltX Energy Three Phase 12 kW 53.76 kWh System for $8,399

They said AC coupled, as I have a 10kw fronius now. This makes the install easier. What is the difference to me vs DC coupled?

I'm told one of the differences is that in a blackout the Battery will not charge via the solar panels. but I still have blackout protection for two circuits. I guess I don't fully understand features & trade offs.

    • the solar panels don't charge the battery directly hence it won't charge without grid. you will still be able to draw from the battery - so only good for short term blackouts not for self sufficiency

      • I guess for the money savings we will live with that. Otherwise to go DC I think it would cost extra 1k to take out the existin inverter, 1-1.5k rewiring fee, so maybe up to 2k more for that.

Any other issues we might run into, eg VPP?

AI just tells me there might be lower efficiency which doesn't really bother me.

  • Had the call back on Friday after paying deposit but yet to receive any email with contract.

  • It looks like there is no method to control the battery ssytem ie you cannot decide when to draw power from grid vs export. Makes this a fairly useless system. Essentially just a giant UPS for your house. @VoltX Energy?

    • Answering my own question. Sales confirmed there is no way to manually control this system. It can only be controlled by a retailer through a VPP, however, none have approved it.

      So essentially a useless system.

      • +1

Oh its not approved for Amber or Globird?

Looks like I'll be cancelling for now.

        • @3dprintdeals
That’s right, this battery is currently in the waitlist for approval. The hardware already supports VPP functionality, it’s just a matter of finalising the approval process with retailers like Amber and Globird. This is in the works.

          Cheers,
          David

      • @BexForHeadache

Really appreciate you raising this because that info isn’t correct. This battery system absolutely has local manual control and you don’t need a VPP for day-to-day operation. You can set time-of-use schedules, grid charging windows, discharge limits and reserve levels directly in the app. A VPP is optional and not required for basic control.

        Cheers,
        David

        • +1

Pm me your email and ill forward the email sent from your team

    • +1

Yes, the hybrid inverter and app let you schedule grid charging during off peak times.

Hi @David can you please comment on this above post, as from your cpmment you advised it is possible to schedule charge the Solplanet system from grid?

      • +1

@VoltX Energy Please confirm or refute the concerns above - which of your batteries out of (Alpha ESS, Solplanet, Neovolt) are listed with Amber of globird and which of these batteries we can manually control when to charge and discharge. These are huge concerns raised and need to be clarified before we place the orders
