So tempted to get this, is it a worthy upgrade from my 245m?
I expect to get another couple of years out of my 245m, but trying not to pull the trigger 😅

Why Garmin watch is more expensive than say Samsung. Any special design or something else. Never had Garmin, thinking of getting one.
to be honest, if you're asking that question then a general purpose smartwatch like Samsung will work for you. It's when the SS doesn't work well enough for a specific situation when you get a specialist watch like this one
I feel there must be something special, that's why I am asking here. I can see longer battery life, and I guess better sports related/healthy tracking. That's all?
Literally yes to the battery and tracking for runnig . I had a galaxy watch 3, then 6. Both, with GPS turned on, will not last a full 6 hours (a marathon) so a dedicated running smartwatch makes sense. Other than running though, not having wearOS and the other productivity apps suck so its a matter of what you want it for.
Much better if you run regularly. As a smart watch, Galaxy watches and Apple watches are superior with the exception of battery life.
I've been waiting for a good 955 sale and still hoping to see one for Black Friday. I think 255 would fit my needs though. Hard choice.
FR955 is onsale currently for $549 at Garmin, Rebel, $546 @Amazon.
Yeah cheers. I picked it up two days ago from rebel. Was hoping it would be even cheaper but got 7% gift card from bupa and will use the rebel active credits to get something else. Really needed new watch so couldn't wait any longer.
If you want the AMOLED screen of the 265, it's currently onsale at amazon.com and amazon.co.jp about $530 to $540.
If you have small wrists like me the cheapest option is now the 265S which is about $505 from amazon.co.jp.
Unfortunately the 255S is out of stock everywhere, and the 570 is ridiculous price!

The 265/265s is the AMOLED version. Worth checking the different colours on amazon.co.jp - there can be a slight price variation (though probably not enough to influence the buying decision). Postage from Japan is about $20.
All are $299US from amazon.com, but they add S&H and GST at checkout.
Edit: or buy from ebay with 10% cashback (US sellers). Including shipping looks to be under $500 - but is ebay so consider accordingly.
Thanks braddsey. I went with the jpy Amazon link and ordered there. The 255 and most of the Garmin watches are too big for my thin wrists so 265s it is.
