— Mata is accused of stealing lunches until a rat is discovered – which Mata secretly rescues.

— Tas and Josh are playing up the bush when a car crashes down the bank. They call the emergency services, and do first aid till the paramedics arrive.

— In this “pick-a-path” interactive story, Tas finds a wallet. The reader’s decisions determine the outcome of the story – but the reader can always go back and try another path that leads to a better outcome. This makes for a lot of reading mileage and builds reading confidence as students re-read familiar pages.
• Caves of Doom
— In this “pick-a-path” interactive fantasy, Tas and Josh have to navigate their way through a mysterious sideshow that has appeared in their town. Each decision determines the path, sometimes sending them back like in snakes and ladders, till they reach a happy conclusion.
• The Digger
— Tas rescues his uncle’s digger from a fire behind the school, and gets a telling off – and praise from his teachers and the fire fighters.
