Bought a Pixel 7 256GB, I think this G86 is better?
Nope. G86 is still a mid range phone and will be slower with a worse camera and lack all the features of a Pixel 7. Battery life is the only area of noticeable benefit I can see with the G86
I had a G84 but swapped with my wife due to her needing 2 physical sims . I preferred the Motorola . Better battery life and weighs less . Really miss the shake for torch .
Battery life on the Pixel is worse but the camera is very good on the pixel . The pixel is much better technically but the Motorola just works better IMHO .

*note, looks like there's a few bits wrong / missing in this… like no ports on one phone lol
so many G86 Power deals! I'll grab one at this price. will be a backup phone for the kiddo
G86 Power for $218.57, yeah why not, a family member can get an upgrade of this old samsung A series at this price
G86 power is $257.15 for non ebay plus?
$231.43 with BLK10 but you can get 1 month of eBay plus for $4.99, so no reason not to purchase for $218.57 with eBay Plus.
eSim?
Sí
thumb up to Motorola, even their G35 model has esim!
Darn I looked at the amaysim $299 Pixel Pro 7 and went with that instead! Hope there's no regret…
Whats the camera like on this unit?
Been burnt too many times with mid range phone cameras.
IMO camera quality seems to be a large part of the higher price you pay for flagships.
you are right but i suspect people are buying these cheap Motos for things other than camera, they have resigned to the fact that the cameras are also-runs on these models.
The camera is fine. I have a pixel 8 and while photos are impressive, and if you need it can be worthwhile, there's nothing wrong with these moto cameras for everyday use. It's not the 90s when phone cameras were tripe
I also hate that I don't have a headphone jack, not to mention some of the other features that need resolving (like the power button not being the power button by default).oh and the battery life sucks on comparison on the pixel and it doesn't charge as fast as my 5 year old Vivo
Thanks. I think I'm looking for 'good', rather than fine.
You had a camera phone in the 90's? ;)
@stuckster: Come to think of it it was 2000 from memory :)
I got a g75 for a family member, and the camera is good, especially for day shots. Night shots I don't know, they only use their camera in the day. My pixel costs twice as much, and it's still short on other features, so it all comes down to what you value
You can get a USB to audio adaptor cable on eBay, under $10.
it's a motorola.
Not sure what that means.
You can fold the phone to turn it off, but only once.
Does this have FM radio? Funny question, but it would make a good extra phone to listen to the football, I miss my HTC One that let me do this through the headphone jack.
Apparently the Moto G56 & G05 does.

FM Radio Yes
Headphone Jack 3.5mm headset jack
Which one is better value? They both look very similar
Yeah they are very similar specs wise. 86 has an OLED display, slightly higher res, a few other things. Obviously 56 has twice the storage space.
Always go the OLED, although the g75 has a great screen for an IPS
I think OS update G56 has two compare to one for G86.
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=13917&idPhone…
I cant see much difference in any of them
I have the G75 and its got a lower resolution…
Screen and camera is better on the 86 vs 56.
Does JB or Officeworks price beat?
What is excluded from the Price Beat Guarantee?
Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)
Thanks @hamza23
Tried buying few times today. Payment is getting failed everytime. No issue with card.
Anyone having same issue?
Or the deal is dead
I got the G56 2 hours ago no issues
Trying to buy G86. No luck
Update: Seems like some problem buying with Paypall and Apple pay. Its platfrom issue
Success paying from card directly.
Does anyone know if the G56 comes with a case or a screen protector?
Most moto phone comes with a basic case.
Yep, a simple clear soft plastic case, no screen protector or charger.
bought G84 for my dad last year, he's very happy. Bought G86 for my mum today!
Motorola has started doing excellent in the budget mobiles segment in recent years. Great revival after a bit of dull period where Xiaomi etc thrived better. Great value for money phones.
I'm guessing G86 is the better phone due to two major Android updates and better screen? Cheers.
I thought one?
My research tends to agree with OhNOUshiz above that the G56 will get 2 updates and 4 years, while G86 one update and 3 years for security (which seems odd s that would mean that the cheaper one is getting more; but what I read goes to a 'leak' that the RAM size, at least with G56, makes a difference. So G56 with 8G ram gets 2 updates and 4 years, but 4g G56 gets less. The Australian Moto site is very complex (4 steps) before finally saying (in my view) something akin to "we'll look after you". My current G84 did get android 15 recently - but I'd think that'd be it.

It looks like they both have 4 years of security updates, but it's not clear how many OS updates they will receive, although two OS updates seems to be what's being floated around based on similar moto phones from previous years.
Oh, and I just found out Android 16 released ~5 months ago, and these phones are still on Android 15.. sorry I've been out of the loop for Android devices for a little while other than Pixels.
Can anyone comment on the camera on either of these models vs the g75?
If it's better I'll grab one and give the g75 to my dad.
Can anyone comment on the battery life of these two?
