for once I agree, should at least be in the 16XX range since it's an older generation

    • You're an Android user aren't you? haha

    17 pro max is 2200?

    • Not for the 512gb model

      • +1

        i paid 2499 matching costco

  • officeworks website is the worst!!

spending time choose and pick, tells you unvaialble or out of stock once it comes to check out!

    wasting efforts

    • It’s because it’s a discontinued line lol 🤣

    • +2

      those were 256GB model.

      • Thanks.

aside from the camera, the 17 base model is the better choice.

      Aluminium ?

    • -1

      The screen is too small

Does it fold? For 2 grand it should fold.

    • +4

Well, you can fold the two grand in half

Why would you buy a 16pro in 2025?

It has far worse cameras, worse cooling, worse battery life, old selfie cam… Just buy a 17pro and pay for iCloud if you can't make 256gb work…

or buy a 17pro 512gb with discounted Apple Giftcards for barely any extra spend…

    • +2

Yeah. The 17 has similar specs and priced well if you don’t mind losing the telescopic lens

    • I just like the 16 design better. 17pro back plate looks like a portable stove top. Aluminium. Not a fan obviously.

    • +1

Actually looks like diff between cameras is negligible.

Yeah not bad relatively for Apple prices but I reckon over the next few years Apple will be white anted by Chinese companies. Right now you can get 15t pro which is nearly there compared to this, for half the price and this trend will clearly continue. Apple is holding on with their software ecosystem but the moat is getting weaker.

2K is the sale price. Jesus Christ.

    • Only for Apple fan, even $200 cheaper for a gen older, they will still be happy. This post may get 50+ upvotes

  • Paid 2363 for my 512g 17 pro max at release date from apple store

    • What's your point?

    • Please explain

Been weighing this up. The two things that give me pause are:
    - 8GB RAM instead of 12GB on 17 Pro Max
    - Slightly larger battery (if you choose SIM model - eSIM model gets bigger battery, but I want SIM model because cheaper carriers still don't have eSIM, and also when I passed through China they didn't have eSIM if you want a phone number, which you need for many things like DiDi and food delivery).
    - Better cooling on 17 Pro Max theoretically improves battery longevity (16 Pro Max known for getting very toasty).
    - Seems better cameras, BUT the comparisons I've seen are very lazy and shocking (e.g. comparing an in-focus area on 17 to an out of focus on 16). Apart from the front cam on 17 which is obv significantly different.

So I figure you're getting at least 1 extra year.
    - $399/year for 16 Pro Max for 5 years
    - $433/year for 17 Pro Max for 6 years
(yes people keep iPhones this long - don't rage at me Android people haha - I'm also currently Android user)

Tough call. 17 Pro Max discounted somehow, even small discount, probably better deal if you plan to keep it long-term and like the design. But it's a decent deal if you want the 16 design and want a bigger screen than iPhone 17.
