    Bad deal

    • Not good as preorder deal but better than https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/931981
I'm going overseas soon-ish so this isn't too bad for me considering TRS.

      • That $2.2k was indeed a terrible deal. Regardless, I wouldn't recommend getting this at $1.95k as it is EVEN IF you're really into foldables. Samsung event is coming soon with the S26 line, so maybe expect the sudden port in deals or other Samsung special trade-in multi-code foldable deals

IIRC typically their Z line launch is a bit far off from S line? I mean, if you just need a flagship phone then S26 would be a better choice.
I reckon next Z line will be mid to late next year.

@Yrgnuh: I meant there's usually a foldable sale alongside the release of the S line.

Worth is very subjective. Having tried a range of Samsung Folds, the Pixel Fold, and an Honor Magic V3, the Fold 7 is easily my favourite. $1.95k would definitely be worth it for me.

@eug: sorry to go off-topic, but could you please briefly describe your experience with the Magic V3 and why you prefer the Fold 7? Was it mainly software stuff?

            • +1

@xrailgun: Definitely software stuff. It feels like it's trying to squeeze in every feature possible with a UI that feels cluttered, like Samsung in the TouchWiz days. That said, it's also missing Samsung's software features like Flex Mode where e.g. YouTube's controls appear at the bottom half when the phone is partially folded on a table, tweaks from Good Lock, separate front/home screen layouts (the Pixel Fold doesn't allow that either), and the basic ability to combine notifications and quick settings in the slide-down menu.

The fingerprint reader doesn't work as well either, often missing my fingerprint, presumably because they made it so narrow.

Build-wise it's solid and feels nice in the hand, but it is pretty difficult to open without a case.

I also find I prefer the narrower front screen on the Samsungs as they're easier to use one-handed. People with larger hands won't mind the wider screens on the Honor and Pixel though.

It's a decent phone, Samsung's software just feels more refined. They really did make good use of their head start with foldables.

      • Yeah, pretty sure I paid $1750 ish pre-order with all coupon stacking, including a pair of Galaxy Pods 3 or whatever they are.

        • Stacking a lot of codes seems to be over though. Even on regular store, the most we can use now is 2 codes (it’d say 3, but nobody able to use 3 on recent S11 tablet deal)

          • @hanofee: Yes, max 2 codes now.

            • @Yrgnuh: Yeah I think I had 4 codes stacked??? And the trade in deal with non existent phone to get tade in bonus.

              • @BlinkyBill: Those good days are gone I guess. Can’t stack more than 2 codes anymore for past couple of month

this post needs "begging required" in title.

  • Commbank 5% login works now? They couldn’t make it work before eventhough westpac one was working fine since a long time. Also, if you have yello there’s 5% offer for buying over $500 (using CBA card) not sure if it can stack

    • it did stack for me

      • mine wont stack?
i click to pay and it still showing the $1944 when trying to pay with the eligible card.
its at the point where i have to approve the purchase via the netbank code and it is still the same price.
        when did yours apply?

    • Use the link in the deal and it applies to cart level, doesn't even check anything apart from CBA card for payment.

I just bought a S25 512GB for $845, had previously added it to my cart in the Yello Samsung portal and it was 965, I thought, ummm, will leave it for now.

Came back a couple of days later to see if it was still there and the price said $845. I thought this is odd, but bought it however the ship date is Dec 1st.
A couple of days ago when the price was 965 the ship date was 17th of Nov. So happy to wait unless other BF deals beat the price in which I could cancel.

I like the screen space on the folds but cant really handle the weight and carrying one around hence I need light and pocket friendly.

    @hanofee
Yes, I noticed the 2nd time I logged in after adding a S25 512gb to my cart the price went down, I looked at the Yello in the app and noticed they added that extra 5%
But not sure why it dropped the price $120 to 845. (I used the Samsung code chat gave me and one that got sent via email also.

  • anyone got the combank yello offer to apply the 5% with a $500+ spend?
    how does it apply it?
i can pay with a non eligible card (but still cba) for the same price my eligible card shows….

    Start from: $2,324.25
    apply 5% black friday $2,208.04
    apply 5% first purchase $2,097.64
enter ERX code ($113.71 off): $1983.93
enter BFX code ($50 off): $1944.49

    and then this wont happen
CBA Yello spend $500 or more get 5% off with eligible card 1,847.26

    • I'm sure it says it applies to the cart? So one of the above 5%…

      • ah ok, i thought that was the original 5% Black Friday discount that was applied to the normal samsung store.

        • Did the 5% over $500 apply for you? Also, you have a spare BFX code by any chance?

    • I registered the account 3 days ago. and they email me the code this morning.

      • Hi, can you unpublish as someone will use it before I could.

  • what is the ERX code guys and how do we get them please?

    • Chat with support in Whatsapp, they generate the code within 2 mins for you.

  • How are we feeling on this one guys?

I'm interested in getting a Fold, however, I haven't bought a new phone for a while, so am a bit out of the loop on the discount cycles etc. I do know that you tend to get the best deals at launch with Samsung though but have obviously missed that boat.

Is this a good price point, or are we likely to get a better discount offer in the near future? Or should I just wait for Fold 8 next year…

    • You’ll never know. Samsung had really good BF deals for a while and that didn't happen this year.

I heard US deal was slick as usual.

    • If u don’t buy the exclusive color, don’t open it, u have 14 days to return after receiving, afaik, in case they have better deal in the next 2 weeks

  • I can get the 512gb price down to $1987.
Anyone have a code to bring it down further?
That's including Commbank Yello, Edu discount, BF sale and first time purchase.

    • I think thats hit the upper limit of # of codes you can apply. That's a pretty good deal.

  • anyone has an additional erx code that they dont use?

    • You can ask chat if you still need, or if not in a hurry, just email: members.au@samsung.com, they usually reply within a day or 2.
CRX/ERX code is the same btw (10% on regular, 5% on EPP/edu), can't stack

  • Anyone got a spare Black Friday code? Please DM

  • Now they're throwing an extra free item as well "Get a Bonus Music Frame3 valued at $699"

Which is really just a wireless speaker, not even digiral photo frame.

  • Bfx code pls

  • Could someone share a BFX code via DM, please

  • Thanks for the deal

With the 5% off first purchase, $50 off with BFX and an ERX code ($102.21 off) comes to 1955.41 with a "music frame" included as a free gift.

Still not sure whether this is what I want, or if I'm better waiting for an offer when the next generation comes out. What were the pre-order deals like in the past?

  • If anyone has a BFX code they could DM me i'd be eternally grateful!
