It is improving. But the original hype and failure to match it has hurt general attitude towards it
As someone who missed the initial release because of life, I’ve only had it for about 2 or so months and it’s been pretty good. But so much of it took ages to be released/patch updates etc, and while I didn’t have to wait for most of it, I can appreciate the negativity around it all.
Do physical releases still contain Steam download codes?

It does not.
It does come with a steam key (multiple for base game + DLCs), my copy just arrived with them.
DVD has been around since the 90s. Time to upgrade to blu-ray.

I remember reading the 1st version was a million times better than the 2nd.
LGR did a 2 year update video a week ago, still needs lots of work and crap dlc so probably never gonna be fixed or as good as first.
His review of the expansion/dlc isn't terrible. I'd like to see the game have got to this point in one year, not two…but it still seems to be ticking along!
Thanks for the vid. I bought when it was launched, uploaded a test cities and refunded shortly after. So disappointed in how this game turned out. Still hoping it might come good… will watch vid now.
Yeah it sounds like it was a right failure at the launch. I’ve only had it for about 2 months and have enjoyed it. Definitely find it better than CS1, which I made myself replay for a few weeks before finally buying 2.

Just picked this up. Been on the fence to try it out after the recent positive reviews of the DLCs. This has the Expansion Pass, so should include all the DLC, which is nice!!
Very keen to try it out when it arrives, a gift for my future self, back to sleep I go now 😆
