Last few prints I've done at Officeworks have looked horrendous. Is there a better big box printing service or should I grab one of these and print my own?

Put it this way, if this printer was a bucket of shiet at $269 it wouldn't be a bargain.

Same happened to me , my A3 size print had a green tint through it , not sure If they use paper profiles but it was nothing like my photo edits so I bought a Epson ET 8550 and It is so much better than Officeworks

      • You’re happy with the 8550? The 8500 will likely be on sale through Amazon and I’m considering switching from an xp8700.

best purchase I made , got it through Camera House Ebay with 17% discount , paid $912 nearly 2 years ago printed hundreds of A3 and A3+ , use mostly Epson and Canson papers as they have paper profiles for this printer but these papers work really good without profiles and are extremely cheap https://www.teds.com.au/ilford-premium-plus-pearl-inkjet-pho….

works out including Ink less than $1 per A3+ print

  • How cheap/expensive to replace the ink? Is this line of printer from Canon similar to the Epson Ecotank line?
    Thanks

    • It uses GI-61 family ink bottles. Different nozzel from Epson Ecotank. Price of original Canon GI61 is between $15-$17 per color bottle, compatible is between $9-$13 per color bottle.

the video above (not mine) pretty much sums up what happened to my canon tank printer - mine lasted about 18 months

i would not recommend these unless you use it everyday - otherwise it will require constant cleaning before every use and eventually the ink absobers (sponge) at the bottom of the unit will throw up a maze of error codes and end up in hard waste like mine

happy to be wrong - but please DYOR before you buy

    • MC-G04 is the maintenance cartridge(waste ink box) that G3675 used other than the sponge(absorber pads can be took out and washed then put back easily). In the video, it was G3200 the old version. Maybe that is not a good one. But now a day, if you don't print everyday, a domestic printer needs maintenance at least once fortnightly to prevent nozzel clogging, especialy in QLD/NT due to the temperature. I have bothe Epson ET8550 and Canon G3675 in store, and they work flawlessly in the past 2 years.
