Web OS? Pass. If I wanted a Co-Pilot I'd learn to fly.

    • WebOS is the most configurable and least controlling of them all; what do you mean?

    • WebOS is really good, clean UI and fast. Most complain about Tizen or bloated Android TV, but I’ve never heard complaints about WebOS.

      • Yeah after using build in Android TV for years, I actually really like WebOS!

  • The 40" good enough quality for a kids Nintendo Switch in the den?

    • +1

If you have a Switch 1 then the 4k resolution will be overkill. Switch 2 is capable of 4k (just make sure you use the Switch 2 HDMI that was included in the box as people have reported issues with different cables)

The main thing to worry about is potential input lag. Make sure the TV's picture mode is set to "Game" or some other game mode / input lag reduction setting is turned on. Lots of "smart" settings that "enhance" picture quality that can be turned off as well.

can i watch sky business with this?

  • Thoughts on using something like a 40” with 4K for work?

    • For $239. Why not.

You can use Fancy Zones to split up screen real estate

    • The 40" is only 1080p though.

      • I know, which is why I'm asking aboutt 4K not HD

    • apparently there's terrible input lag for TVs so I'll look for an alternative, plus it may be hard to find the cursor with more screen real estate.

  • What's the framerate on these?

    • +1

      60Hz according to their website

Big W has a 75 inch for 599 in 2 days, with 50$ back in reward points.

Bugger Aldi's crappy deal on their crappy brand.

      • Yeah dude! They sent out an email the other day, it's meant to go live on Monday (IIRC), I forgot the amount of Woolies points included but from memory it was equivalent to 50$, I could be wrong though, sorry! But defo 599

Err EKO is the worst brand on the market. They fall apart just outside of the 12 month warranty unless you are lucky enough for it to fail first. Plenty of unhappy pensioners out there complaining about them.

I'm pretty sure Bauhn is one of the most cost-effective televisions on the planet. They've been popping up on Ozb and youtube reviews for more than half a decade.

Noone has heard of EKO lmao.

It's amazing how with the cost of living, everything in the supermarket going up and up, TVs just keep getting cheaper and cheaper…

  • Southland aldi had 2 of the 70" TVs for that price on Wednesday night when I went.
    Fair chance they're still there

  • I picked up one of the Bauhn 40" Tv's yesterday for the kids to use the switch in the den. It's not been opened yet, I'm now eyeing up https://www.amazon.com.au/Kogan-LED-Full-Smart-Google/dp/B0F… this one which Amazon have dropped the price on for BF. Does anyone have experience with either? I'm worried the Bauhn may sounds tinny having read the reviews.

It's not particularly tinny; it sounds fine.
Btw the Aldi at Nth Melb had about five 65" in-stock.
