for the $3000 spend for $400 credit at kogan.com, the exclusions are:
Eligible purchases exclude Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, refunds and Chargebacks, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, payments to other credit card and other types of accounts, fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges, and transactions made using Rewards Points.

For those thinking of an ATO payment for this, that might be considered a payment to other types of accounts, and it is also not a purchase, so my guess is it will NOT count

  • I'm still several weeks off the 10 week waiting period after meeting eligible spend, but I'm happy with the points earned every month with this credit card.

Seem like more than all the other cards I've found, with the caveat being you need to spend them on the Kogan website.

  • Previous customer. Is it still only once you can get the benefit?

      • Still waiting on the credit, should come through in December I believe. I was a previous customer and had issues getting through the application process. I feel due to being a previous customer or a combination of a few system issues.

I used a different email address but same mobile number. Their platform has changed since I was previously a customer so that has probably helped with not being flagged. I confirmed via chat that I’m eligible while checking something unrelated.

I plan to hold onto this card now as its fee free a was hard to get back onto after closing it previously. Points can be used on Kogan and there’s always something to get that I’d go to Kmart or elsewhere to get, but instead get it for free with points via Kogan.

        • Received the credit a week ago, got an email to confirm.

  • I dont like the rewards being limited to kogan store but i very much like the 0$ fee. Looks like its gonna be my next cc

Coles cc is also $0, and you get fly buys.

Just as a heads up that you get the bonus 10 weeks after the spend period, with the spend period being 90 days from activation, so you'll be waiting a while but overall still worth it.

I got my card end of early July and met the spend within a few weeks, the live chat recently said I'll get the credits around December 3rd as it calculates from the end of the spend period

    • Looks like I'll be getting my bonus next year then

      • Most likely yeah, check with live chat if you can be bothered and they'll give you a date so you can mentally prepare haha.

If it’s the same as before, minimum credit limit is around $6000.

Also the credit of course can only be used on Kogan.com. Took me a while before I found something to spend it on.

  • What do you spend 3k on? Never had a CC in my life lol but now considering churning due to the benefits.

Can you list a few places please?

    • mate, you asked this exact question the last time this card was posted as a bargain and we gave you this reply.

      • I did not apply, but now I am ready. Was going to look for the post but you know too lazy on the internet. You must be in data structures or good with vlookup lol thanks again

        • +1

all good mate. we're well past the golden age of credit card churning these days but this one is definitely a good offer.

          • @starbearer: I am late to the party. I started mortgage and now I think I can take on credit cards for their hidden benefits, I do now want another debt :s

400 for 3k spend is pretty decent on essentials.

Just trying to see if I can do 3k in 90 days, might book furniture lol

How do you deal with the credit card surcharge and stuff which most retailers charge? Or there's no extra for paying with CC?

            • @sqheaven: Most big ones like Coles and Woolies don't.

The ones that do charge it, will be max 2% (but average around 1 to 1.5%). So 2% of your 3K spend will be 60 bucks.

Even in that case you're still $340 better off.

              • @starbearer: If Woolworth and Coles don't charge it, can I buy their gift cards? I mostly use GC to pay at groceries.

I think 3k is easy spend in 3 months, just need to narrow it down. I have stopped buy gadgets and gear tbh lol otherwise it was so easy for me 😂 one lens, that's it.

                • @sqheaven: What I meant was Coles and woolies don't charge CC surcharges, so whatever you buy from there, just use your CC. I think Bunnings also. Aldi does charge it, so not as useful there.

For gift cards, you can get $0 processing fees ones (like digital gift cards), so in those cases, whatever you pay from those, it will be without surcharges.

Physical gift cards that you get from Coles/Woolies have a ~$5 processing fee (e.g. the visa prepaid cards). However, I do believe the coles/woolies physical gift cards you get in their stores are 0 processing fees.

Have a look at card.gift also. I'm seeing a $500 eftpos card (which is basically a generic $500 prepaid card, that can be used anywhere that accepts EFTPOS) for $502.15, which is negligible fees.

@starbearer: Thanks a lot mate, I'll apply for this card asap. I really wish I can buy discount gift cards.

                    • @sqheaven: there should be some offers coming for those during black friday

                      • @starbearer: Let's see how fast I get this deal!, does it impact credit rating? Not that I care now but good to know

  • Does Kogan consider a new applicant if I haven't hold a Kogan CC in last 12 months ?

Or is it once you've already owned a Kogan CC you are never eligible for this promo?

    • As above, it can be tricky to get back in. I had countless issues getting through ID checks which I think is linked to me being in there system already. I managed to get through and eligible for the credit, I think due to using a different email address on signup. But I think it's also paired with it being a new platform since I last received the credit.

It's not a churning card in general as the T&C's are a generic "once per applicant" and no mention of 12/24 month exclusion period.

  • Had the Citi Bank credit card canned at the 11th month, also had NAB's Platinum debit for a while.
Now it seems NAB doesn't like me anymore… "Cannot proceed" after ID check several times with different emails and phone numbers and IDs. Ded.
Never signed up to Kogan before tho, bloody NAB

  • Just applied

    • Got approved pretty quick after sending payslips. Like 30 mins

  • I have submitted
Y application suddenly it hanging. Later kn i try to continue my application my login doesn’t work . I can’t reset pw. I don’t have any email saying the submisstion comoleted

  • I closed a Citi card in October. Am I likely to get declined for this?

  • No response at the ID verification step, tried so many time, different day and browsers
such a time waster, Hoka or Asics Kayano/Nimbus nearly twice expensive, not worth it

  • Ok I got it, what do you guys do with the 400$ Kogan credit? Any ideas?

  • I had to use an iPad to passed through the ID verification. My Samsung phone just didn't work on this. Anyway, been approved.

  • How long did it take to get the physical card and to activate it? You can't use it without the physical card right?

    • +1

Took like 2-3 business days. Yeah apple pay worked fine for me before it came/it was activated

  • Which card that can do balance transfer to bank account (BSB not Bpay) like citi use to do.
