Lenovo Ideas Tab Pro 12.7 3k Android Tablet 8GB 256GB $399 RRP $699

Very UNDERATED tablet
Was on special with JB a few weeks ago for $499 - I missed out.

JB priced matched the $399 yesterday (Sat 15th Nov)

Its a great tablet - only got it to preserve the battery on my IPAD.
It has a 12.7 Matt Screen with a pen included.

You can also buy the ORIGINAL case and keyboard on Aliexpress for $93.

Verdict: For the price its brilliant - speed is acceptable for media consumption.
12.7 inch is a terrible size if it is your primary tablet - used as a tablet.
Could be ideal if you have the keyboard.
Pen is pretty awesome but the magnetic attachment is not good - you will loose it fats unless you but a sleeve for it ($3 on aliexpress).

ENJOY - the Black Friday special finishes tomorrow!

Surcharges: 0% for bank deposit, Afterpay & Zip Money. 1.2% for VISA / MasterCard & PayPal. 2.2% for AmEx.

Free shipping excludes WA, NT & remote areas.

  • Hm, will it last until tomorrow so you can price match on the official site?

    • Yes - price matced at JB - probably at officeworks too -

Look like the Xiaoxin pad pro Australian version with local warranty

    • $100 more for local warranty? No thanks

      • +1

I bought the Xiaoxin one this week for $259, already got $USD 17 Aliexpress cashback, and $40 SB CB tracked, so it's about $200 more.

        • is it the same with everything? and I had $350 of JB vouchers … otherwise!

          • +1

@adc7au: With the Xiaoxin you lose the Matte display, 128GB storage in base model and no pen.

Having used both I prefer the Xiaoxin as I prefer the better colour and brightness in a normal display over the matte display in this.

            • @Clear: Thanks - am looking to buy one for my mum. do you have a link?

              • +1

@adc7au: They take some work to set up properly, lots of junk on there to be removed and does not come with app store to start with.

I'm pedantic, probably took me 2 hours, could be a quickie speed run in under an hour.

        • I got mine at $270. Can't complain. Massive upgrade from Samsung Tab A 2018.

    • The biggest difference would be the matte screen vs the gloss screen

    • More or less. You can actually flash the firmware between the different versions. The main downside is that you would have to manually sideload any future updates.

      • can you tell me the pros and cons for flashing?

        • +1

          pros - fleeting personal satisfaction

cons - trouble if you get caught by the cops

  • Price on title pls

  • SD card slot?

    • +1

      yes

    Read the title guidelines.

Actually same price on Lenovo Education store

  • Looks like being same price at JB when their Black Friday sale starts this week.
Bit cheaper if you have some discounted gift cards.

    • where did you see this?

      • In the upcoming catalogue.
I'm sure it was this model.

        • Have you got a link please as I couldn't see it?

          • @GaryG: No, not available yet for general access.

How many years is this supported?

Desktop mode and can it be used as an external display (second screen of laptop)?

    • Until 2028.

  • +2

Damn, that's a great price. I got mine a couple of months ago from Officeworks for about $450 with price beat and I love it.

  • This or that? Apple iPad A16 11" $460
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/933504

  • Does anybody have the link for the case from AliExpress? I can see many different versions I'm not sure which one is the right one

  • Still haven't figured out a way to have two audio sources playing at the same time eg watching 2 videos at the same time with both sounds on :(

  • does this come with Google store on it its local? i need it for work so needs genuine version to run 365

    • +1

Yes it comes with Play store

  • In Amazon I can see Lenovo Tab Pro + Pen + Paperlike for 398

    • any idea what is + Paperlike

      • I assume it's paper like screen protector. Amazon shows temporarily out of stock now

        • all other retailers are doing the $399 now.

        • Aussie ones have the matte paper like finish on the screen itself, so I'd assume it's just that. Weird way of wording, but in other regions it is an upsell 🤷‍♂️

      • It just refers to the matte screen (Does not use glossy screen)

  • Anyone know if there are any gift card offers live for JB Hi FI or Office works?
