With Steam releasing the Steam Box and Microsoft pivoting to PC console, seems like these sort of games will go down down down, particularly when the strategy is to develop games for both PC and console

It’s just a normal sale. It’s not that deep.

Haha also true. But also my projection

      • If you are not over thinking about a game sales, you are not Oz bargain hard enough.

incredible overthink but go off king

Just finished the trail for kcd2, was horrified when I saw the $144 on the PS store! I'll just buy this and the disc drive for not much more

      How long was the trial?

    I FEEL QUITE HUNGRY

Man, 2025 was a great year for gaming (esp. single player games)

Any recs; been out the loop. Just grabbed Hades 2 yesterday and am tempted by Clair Obscur but keen to know others?

      • +1

        Got Hades 2 recently too!

If you're into MMO/JRPGs def get Clair Obscur esp since it's on sale now.. I enjoyed KCD2 but it's not for everyone, I will say it's much easier to get into than KCD1 though. Yotei was good too!

E33 is amazing, I've never liked turn based games before.

  • Great game. Just playing hard core mode at the moment. I loved KCD1 as well. Highly recommend both of them

    HENRY'S HERE!

  • Is this the game that makes you squeal like a pig?

  • Everything on consoles is so cheap yet everything on PC with no manufacturing or disc costs is so expensive. Weren't we told for year that digital distribution would result in cheaper prices over physical?

    • +4

KCD2 is $62 right now on GOG with no drm and offline installers to store and keep forever. That's worth $13 to me. Otherwise it's also around $55 on fanatical for a steam key.

Publishers have been pocketing the distribution savings but also games themselves have been surprisingly resistant to general inflation until very recently, and is still behind.

Try Battlefield 6 or Metal Gear on PC - $110

        • Same price as they are on the PS and MS storefronts so it's not a pc issue. Retailers aren't beholden to the publisher set rrp and are probably using them as a loss leader.

          • @jrecard: huh? Where do you get same price? it's $110 on PC and $69 on console. Metal gear is $110 vs $79

            • @johnnyg: On the Playstation store and Xbox store, you know the equivalent to digital pc storefronts. (metalgear is actually $129 on the ps store btw)

    • One word: Competition (as in the different retail stores selling the physical console games)

    • Thanks!

  • Most games are price matched at Amazon too.

Keen to try out Cronos, was waiting for it to drop in price.

    • +1

Yep Amazon now starting to match. I picked up Cronos

  • Critically acclaimed MindsEye is $29 as well

    • Cheap enough for you to get?

      • For one of the games of all time, yes

  • Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition on the switch 2 is $54 - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/nintendo-switch-2-star-wa…

  • Any chance fc26 will go sub $40 next month or two?
