This isn't the Z2 Extreme version. The Z2 chip is just a Z1 Extreme with 200Mhz slower graphics clock speed.

    Also holy hell they're heavy.

    • They certainly are if you're carrying the charger and everything else in the box, as well as the box itself. The tablet itself weighs only 710g and the controllers are 105g each.

For comparison, the Steam Deck is 670g and the ROG Ally X is 680g.

  • Purchased, and will wait if i get this before my Officeworks order can refund one or the other. I still love my Legion 1 OG, with mod SSD and Battery, but i think if the ad has "AMD Ryzen™ Z2 Extreme" ill take my chances and refund if required that it isnt a Z2 Extreme edition.

But agree its heavy, handheld for long, but i prefer to dock and only hand hold when I'm on a plane or airport.

    Hopefully meets my expectations. 🤔

    • This one isn't the Z2e Ryzen but it is $800 cheaper and I'm not sure the Z2e chip's advantage is worth nearly a grand.

    • I also prefer docking to handholding

  • Not incredibly up to date with the tech, but how does the MSI Claw 7 Ultra compare to this? Thanks!

The claw 7 a1vm is much worse in all respects, the claw 7 a2vm has a better gpu for gaming especially at low wattages, but has a worse and smaller screen, and smaller battery life

  • Legion Go S Z1 Extreme is also down to $1099, so if detachable controllers, smaller battery and OLED isn't necessary, then save $300

  • Just bought it. For $1398 (used a birthday $10 coupon, but then $9 delivery - $1 saved! Woohoo!)

I was looking at the Z2E and really wanted that one but even if there was a good deal on it to about $1799, which may be incoming, that's still a $400 difference for a couple of FPS. Honestly, this will be my secondary device - it's not replacing my gaming PC, it's for travel, couch, or when I'm meant to be sleeping. A couple of extra frames won't matter that much. Plus, because it's 32gb RAM (unlike the US's version which has only 16gb RAM), it'll probably perform even closer to the Z2E.

I'll likely use it more for indies, and the thousands of games in my backlog rather than the latest and greatest AAA games which will be best experienced on my UW too. Another reason I don't think I'll miss much with the "cheap version"! The OLED is what it's all about really.
