    Given everyone that has a Steam account now owns this game, it’s a wonder they’ve never attempted a sequel.

      They were working on a sequel but Square made them refocus it into a live service online game. It was called Sleeping Dogs Triad Wars, I played it a bit while it was in beta but the gameplay loop was not very exciting or challenging. Square didn't like the direction of the live service game either and decided to close down their entire game studio.

        And they deserve to crash and burn for it.

        Having said that, I hope there will be a renewed interest in the IP if Simu Liu pulls off this Sleeping Dogs movie adaptation, so we might get talks of a sequel.

    I'm a simple man; I see a Sleeping Dogs deal, I upvote.

    I feel like I own this in at least three places, perhaps 4. Such a banger. No open world GTA-like has come close to being this fun and with such an engaging narrative since. Such a shame the devs gave up on a sequel so soon after its inception. Might've saved them from going under.

    Just gotta forever replay this.

      They didn't give up on it, Square wanted a live service game instead so they had to do that. The formula for it wasn't very good and ultimately they had their studio shutdown.
