I've been on the hunt for a pair of bookshelf speakers and found Selby have ~50% off Whatmough speakers.
Talking with the local Adelaide store they didnt have local stock, online only, so I couldnt go in to listen before purchasing. I ended up pulling the trigger on a pair of the bookshelf speakers anyway as I've been chasing a pair like it.
For me I was after a ~6.5" bookshelf, the front facing port on these is a bonus as I'll need them close against the wall. Other options I was tossing up were Polk ES20 $637, rear port guide should make it bit better against the wall, or Elac Debut Reference DBR62 same front facing port style as these but $899 on sale. I took the punt on the heavily discounted Whatmough bookshelfs as I cant resist somethign 50% off.
Others on sale:
- The Whatmough Emotion 6.5" Bookshelf: $474
- 2-way floorstanding $1049
- 3-way floorstanding $1299
- 12" Subwoofer $649
- 5.1 speaker & sub pack, $1899
Worth consideration if you're on the hunt for speakers or sub

Did you also consider the polk mxt20 or the wharfedale 12.2 was in a Similar boat but the 6.5 bookshelves were beyond my budget so ended up getting the polk mxt15. Coming from a 2.1 system was a bit surprised how much bass can these small speakers kick off with one day of listening. As they open up, I expect them to get better.
