Extra 5% off eGift Cards (Max $25 off): 5% Everyday WISH, 7.5% Amazon, 7.5% Shell, 8.5% Ultimate & More @ Samsung Wallet

1910
SAVE5

Final week code is now revealed.

As usual:

  • This promo code is limited to one use per user, with a maximum discount of $25 per user.

  • The only payment option is Samsung Pay. You must complete payment using a Samsung device that currently supports Samsung Pay.

  • Not all payment cards support Samsung Pay.

  • AMEX cards are not accepted on this portal (even though Australian-issued AMEX cards support Samsung Pay).

  • Rates in title are after the extra 5% discount is applied (e.g. Amazon is 2.5% + 5% extra = 7.5%, Everyday WISH is 0% + 5% extra = 5%, etc).

Ensure that final discounted amount is correct before you pay, as many users have reported the payment screen is not correctly applying the discount.

See here for T&Cs.

This site gives off mega scam vibes

  • +4

    Site is very 'buggy'

  • +4

I can apply the 5% discount code to the gift card, but the actual amount it tried to charge me was without the 5% discount. So the code doesn't seem to be working properly yet.

    • same

    • Same

    • Same, tried Amazon gc

      • Shows the wrong amount on the biometric confirmation but it charges the correct amount after.

        • +3

For those who are uneasy, after backing out when it shows the incorrect price, trying to pay again shows the correct one.

        • +1

This happened to me as well. Bought Amazon GC.
Showing the wrong amount at biometric confirmation, I didnt realise and paid anyway.
Went to check my bank account and it charged the correct amount - 7.5% discount.
All good, received the GC within 10 mins. Thanks OP!

    • Got the 5% for Amazon GC.

  • I was getting some error message but when I clicked on T&C, it disappeared. GC arrived in 3 mins. Last week it took 24hrs to come

    • +1

Same here, kept getting some error about the input being incorrect even after coming out of the payment screen and trying to repurchase. Ended up toggling the T&C back and forth and going back to payment did it work. You'd think they'd sort out the glitches although eventually it went through.

  • Managed to grab $333 amazon gift card. Thanks

    • +5

The max is $500 for $25 discount on the promo code, in case you didn't know :)

Total $462.50 paid for a $500 Amazon card.

      • All for baby products?

      • +8

Are you sure? It shows 462.5 after applying the code but, when you go to actually pay it reverts to 487.5. Seems like the code isnt working properly.

        • +1

          I paid $462.50 for a $500 Amazon gift card.

        • +1

I just bought a $500 Shell eGift Card. The Order Summary screen showed $462.50 after applying the coupon code, and the Samsung Pay payment screen (where I had to verify the payment) also said $462.50. I just checked my bank statement and it said I was charged $462.50.

I did not test using an Amazon gift card beforehand (and obviously cannot do it now), so I wonder whether your issue is to do with Amazon gift cards specifically, or only specific users.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: I have the same issue as jimojr and tested on an Airbnb GC with the same result. Also tried purchasing directly from browser vs entering via the app, neither works 😭 This might be my sign to just go to sleep…

            • +2

@Ciciann: I had the same issue buying an Amazon GC. I let the payment screen time out and retried the payment. The correct discount showed up on my 2nd attempt. Amazon GC was delivered a few mins later. Go figure!

          • @WookieMonster: @WookieMonster this shell card, is it same like 7-11 , can be used at any other pumps ??

            • @Harsh Deep: No.

Shell eGift Cards are actually restricted to the participating Shell service stations listed on the Shell fuel finder. The gift card scheme owner (Blackhawk Network) appears to do this by checking the EFTPOS terminal identifiers reported whenever you attempt a transaction; if the identifier is reported to be one not on the Blackhawk Network whitelist for Shell eGift Cards, the transaction will be declined.

On the other hand, 7-Eleven digital gift cards are actually only restricted to the two merchant category codes known to be used by 7-Eleven. The gift card scheme owner (Blackhawk Network) does not enforce the requirement for your transaction to be at a 7-Eleven.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: i have used 7-11 GC at Shell, BP, EG Ampol and of course at 7-11, thats why i was wondering, if its the same for Shell as well.

          • @WookieMonster: Same with me. Really shoddy for a company like Samsung

        • Same here. Their system is glitchy af.

        • Same with me

        • +2

Mine did this too - showed $487.50 upon submitting.. But final screen went back to $462.50 and only charged $462.50.

        • +2

Confirmed that the correct amount was charged, even though the incorrect amount was on screen.

  • -5

any genius way to get this deal more than once on one device?

    • I don't think it is device-restricted. You just need a new account for each order.

    • +3

To port number, you need ID check and to provide code via text. I doubt they have access to that… if you are Samsung wallet user, you can access the site through the app - so it is not a scam.

  • Got it delivered instantly this time - last time it took 2 days. Thanks OP!

  • Says expired already . Tried on Amazon and accepted originally but payment failed then tried again and wouldn't accept the code.

    • +3

That is due to the gift card portal counting your first transaction (i.e. the one where payment was declined) as your one eligible transaction for this week's promo code. It should appear as a cancelled transaction under the Orders section of the portal. The promo code can only be redeemed once per account, so any further attempts will therefore trigger the promotion has expired error message (as you already know).

I had the exact same problem in the first week of the promotion and missed out myself.

    • +1

Apply voucher SAVE5 all in capitals.

  • +1

For some reason this time around although the code has been applied and the correct amount is shown during checkout, the payment confirmation screen at the end shows up without the extra 5% discount. Weird. Anyone else?

    • +1

      Yes, same issue here.

      • +7

It seems to be happening to everyone when it gets to the Payment screen.

I just declined to pay, navigated back and tried again and 2nd time the payment amount showed the full discount.

        • +1

Yep same thing happened on mine, had to redo the payment again to get the correct discount applied

        • Thanks finally worked after a few goes.

          Cheers OP! 🍻

  • +1

    Card Not Supported.
what is wrong with Visa debit card to use?

  • Bought a Shell gift card and added to my wallet. How difficult is it to use? Do they just scan the barcode once it's added to your wallet?

    • +1

Shell eGift Cards can only be redeemed at participating Shell service stations, but once you are at one of these service stations, all you need to do is to ask to pay by card and then tap to pay (just like any other Visa card). It is not possible to redeem a Shell eGift Card by scanning barcodes.

Apparently some of these participating Shell service stations will surcharge payments made using a Shell eGift Card, but this does not happen at Shell Reddy Express (which is where I use them).

      • +1

        Thanks. Makes sense.

  • Purchased amazon and received basically straight away thx

    • same!

  • Had to cancel 1st payment attempt as the others mentioned but worked out fine for Amazon GC $500.

This is the last week of promo I belive? Time to remove the wallet app.

  • I assume a Samsung phone is required to purchase from this store?

    • +2

Payment has to be via Samsung pay which can be only setup on Samsung devices. Am an Apple user. Can’t find a way to avail the benefit at the moment.

      • same here - i was able to get the OTP on my non-samsung phone but Samsung Pay is the only option to pay and it just keeps blinking when I choose that option to pay

  • Last night I checked and I thought it showed 5% discount for Wish gift cards. But this morning it shows no discount so presumably with the code it becomes 5%? That's the normal discount from Seniors.

  • Beware for first timer. Something went when I was trying to get the code to work and show the discount. After a few attempts it's considered used… Stupid.

    • Log out, turn off phone and then try again to see if that works. I had some error messages as a result of going back and forth trying to get the correct amount during final payment confirmation and that worked for me.

  • Samsung phone required?

I know it might be obvious to some/most, but I think that should be in the title.

    • Can you tell me which other phones support Samsung Wallet?

      • +1

        S25 Ultra, S25+, S25, Galaxy S24, S23, S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, S21 5G, S21+ 5G, S21 Ultra 5G, S21 Fan Edition 5G, S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, S20 Fan Edition 5G, S10, S10+, S10e, S10 5G, S9, S9+, S8, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Z Flip 5G, Z Fold3 5G, Z Fold2 5G, Fold, Note20 5G, Note20 Ultra, Note10, Note10+, Note10+ 5G, Note9, Note8, A32 5G, A42 5G, A52 5G, A50, A51, A51 5G, A53 5G, A70, A71 5G.

        • But they're all Samsung phones, why does the title need to say "Samsung phone required"? Also, you missed the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7.

  • +2

Payment declined, now I can't use the code

    • Error accepting payment. Then discount code not work any more. What a joke.

  • +1

I just wasted an hour on this. Firstly, the Wish Card would not grant the original 5% in addition to the special 5%. I gave up on that and tried to purchase an Amazon Gift Card instead. This did grant both discounts. Then I had to pay. Failure as it could not find "Samsung Pay". I then went thru the exercise of joing the Samsung (products) website. No Samsung wallet came to me from this purchasing and payments portal, although I could have registered my Samsung TV, a/c, and Samsung refrigerator. Eventually, on the internet, I discovered that only people who happen to have a Samsung phone can access Samsung Pay! Why this discrimination? It is not as if I am not a Samsung customer. Why was this important fact left out of the Ozbargain listing of this discounted gift card offer??? Give me my hour back!

    • +1

On the positive side you just saved me an hour. Its appreciated.

    • Same as Apple Pay? Also, Wish doesn't have initial discount, so only 5% total discount with the code.

    • +4

its 0% + 5% for wish cards. total of 5% off. i think you may have read it wrong.

  • Yup. Tried. Review cart applied 5% but payment page said full price so I backed out.

    • Same, the final payment screen said $500 so I pressed back, but then I immediately pressed Place Order again (did not restart the whole process) and this time it correctly showed $475. GC was delivered within 1 minute.

  • My Amazon $500 worked pretty much instantly, about two hours ago.

  • Can you buy electronics using Amazon GC and then claim TRS? Thanks

    • -2

      Ha ha, nice one.

    • yes.

  • Somebody pick apart if I have a flaw in my logic

If I want to get an everyday WISH card for Woolies shops, why would I benefit from 5% off if I have my money parked in an offset account @ 5.34%p.a.? Wouldn't I be better off keeping my cash on hand, and I additionally wouldn't be locked into using a set amount of $ just eligible at Woolies?

Even if I didn't have an offset and just earnt a regular interest rate of 4.5%-ish, feels very not worth to make your money less flexible for just a 0.5% gain?

    • Assuming you don't collect rewards points then I guess you're right

    • +1

The flaw is time. 5% after a year vs 5% right now which most people would use soon

      • Kind of true I guess.

The assumption is that you would have bought groceries regardless. So yes, better to enjoy 5% off something that you were going to pay in cash anyway.

        • Yep and unless they plan their woolies shops 1 year ahead, you wouldn't even get the full interest and would be worse off than someone buying the discounted cards now and shopping within the year

      • Thanks, make sense.

I guess for something like groceries, if Woolies was my local it would be inevitable spend (that happens more frequently than anually), so saving 5% makes sense given the money was going to exit my account anyway and not be shielding interest.

That being said I'm not a big enough spender at Woolies to max the $500 amount and reasonably spend it in a year, so I'll pass - but I can see how it's valuable now. Thanks!

        • You probably dont want to look here then
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

Coles can be had at 3-4% off via quite a few platforms ^.

Most of us who buy GC's for groceries, generally buy about $300-500 or so at a time, lasts a few weeks (if lucky) then rinse/repeat.

As others mentioned, if you prioritise one of them, you usually get more value with the rewards/points schemes on top of this.

I use woolies, close to home and I have 3 x 10% off every month. Coles often have better FB deals but its a suburb away…

It's not just about discounted gift cards, some of us are in way deeper than that :D

          • @nismo: Yeah familiar with that page (have access to Reward Gateway and Macquarie Marketplace) but always saw limited use apart from the odd >5% deal - although I get why even 3-4% is valuable now

I'm not a Colesworth customer so unfortunately not much use for groceries for me

            • @yoogz: Fair enough. I have Reward Gateway and Member Advantage, I tend to use them for eBay 4% and occasionally Rebel 10% etc.

We don't use Colesworth for all our groceries. Mostly elsewhere for Fresh Food!

  • Thanks for this, but I tried for almost an hour.

Downloaded Samsung Wallet on my Samsung phone, added my cards, and it just came up with errors, refusing to let me pay, couldn't fix it even calling NAB.

    No 7% off for me.

  • I got the below error.. anyone else?

We apologise for the inconvenience. An unexpected error occurred and we couldn’t fulfil your order. Please try again in a few minutes or use a different payment option.

  • Is this purchase an overseas transaction which will incur fee for some cards?

    • No. It's a domestic transaction charged in AUD.

      • I paid with paypal using a local credit card which charged me 3% overseas transaction fee. I did this not for this deal but just normal Topcashback transaction. This transaction did not appear on my Amazon account and payment was done through Runa.io . My Topcashback transaction shows that the merchant is Gift Cards.

  • Thanks op amazon now topped up less than 5mins for giftcard this time one of the quickest turn arounds

  • wondering if this can be stuck with CBA amazon offer….

    • +1

I think not because the CBA offer requires that you buy the gift card from Amazon.

      • ah. good point! thanks mate

  • Has to be in all caps, I think.

    • Yes. Please use SAVE5 in full caps. Save5 isn't accepted. I'll say this again. This whole Gift Card portal is pretty shoddily designed, specifically for huge company like Samsung.

      • Yeah. Was having trouble with the code being accepted but it worked and I think it's cos I used SAVE5 vs Save5
But then I got an error
'We apologise for the inconvenience, An unexpected error occurred and we couldn't fulfil your order. Please try again in a few minutes or use a different payment option."
Before tapping Place Order it also said 'The request data is invalid'

Edit: Ok it wored but said $126 paymentinstead of $116 (i.e. discounted). Then for some reason it worked when I did $100 gift card instead of $126. But the payment screen said $116, so I did it anyway thinking I'd get $126 gift card. But they only charged$92.50 and sent me the $100 gift card.
Edit 2: Now the order says 'Cancel Campaign Initiated'..

  • +2

    Keep getting error
Promo code not accepted. Please review promotion T&Cs.

    Using SAVE5 all capitals

    • same issue

      • I experienced this last week. I applied the code and went to the payment screen but then something came up so I couldn't complete the payment. When I tried later, it kept saying "Promo code not accepted". This site sure is buggy.

        • Did it get fixed eventually?
