I need a deal on Superblast 2. Nowhere other than asics and athletes foot have the colour/size that I am after. And you guessed it, neither have a sale. Full price.
Side note, how good are Rebel pulling all the higher end Asic shoes from their website so they aren’t included in the 25% sale.
Any chances asics themselves have a BF sale?

    • What CW and size are you after?

      • Black, US10.5

        • Read the comment from @Chelseadmfc below. Worth the wait.

    • +1

Worth heading into Rebel. They signs up for have 20% off all full priced shoes, doesn’t mention exclusions.
The pulled the Superblast 2 from the website though…

Managed to head into the newly opened Rebel Sports at Burwood, NSW and purchase 2 x superblast 2 in black (US 4.5 & 9.5) for me and the missus.
The 20% off shoes stacked with 15% off rebel gift cards and some rebel credit, ended up paying $380 for both pairs. They definitely seemed to have alot of sizes in stock in the black and the navy/white CW. Definitely worth a visit or calling up if you are looking for Superblast 2.

      • Thanks mate, I’m not in syd but I’ll give them a ring and see if there is any possibility of getting some posted out. Thanks.

        Edit: no luck.

        • Which state? I still have the superblasts carted and it shows click and collect locations with stock

          • +1

            @Peanut246: NSW US10.5 (black). Thanks

            • +1

@stuarty9: Only stores with stock in NSW seem to be Warringah and Burwood, both with Low Stock. Rest of NSW stores are showing out of stock.

              Hope this helps

I was in an ASICS store on Friday, asked if/when they were going to have any Black Friday specials. Sales rep told me that they will be having 30% off from this Wednesday on. In stores or Online.

    • Do we know if that is off everything? Or just select ranges?

      • My guess would be select products. Asics are more conservative about sale items than some other sports brands

edit: was selected items last year https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/813842

        • Cheers!

      • Select items unfortunately

        • Superblast on there?

          • @stuarty9: Nope, they don't tend to put their 'faster' shoes on sale but I believe Rebel is doing 20% off at the moment

            • @UltraDec: Conveniently rebel have pulled all superblasts from the website..

              • @stuarty9: Still on the shelf instore though. They have the “20% off full priced shoes” signs all over the place. I didn’t see anything saying “excluding superblast”.

            • @braddsey: Yeah saw this, thanks.
Unfortunately, I’m chasing a US10.5 in black which they don’t have

    • also worth checking their website for availability in the colourway/size prior (eg. some sizes already unavailable).

  • If your size is in stock here I managed to price match with rebel and also 10% off
    They price matched men's btw

  • I saw on Friday Asics Kayano 31 for $140 at DFO

  • no kids shoes :(

    • Yeah that sucks.

      • +1

I discovered The Trybe is doing 25% off sitewide* though

  • DFO Brisbane, believe MEL as well, was running half price across almost everything over the weekend, bought Kayano 31 for $115 and nimbus 26 for 130. Not sure if still on.

    • That is cheap, here in Melbourne was 50 percent off too but retail price was $280 and was selling for $140..

      • +1

Tag shows $140 as well for kayano 31 but somehow scanned $115

        • I would have definitely picked it up for that price. Was it a standard colour?

          • +1

@BinnyC: Bought black on black, there were a 2 or 3 colors, pretty complete sizes on Sat in Brisbane.

  • Stability shoes always expensive, even after discounts.

  • Does anyone else find the rubber sole on asics isn't as durable as it use to be? I find my soles on Asics Kayano 31 grip flattened within 6 weeks of owning them. Really bot ideal for such an expensive shoe. I am not overweight. I am not a runner. I mostly walk in them and do the occassional parkrun - 5km only.

    • Try New Balance. Mine hold up well

      • Which new balance are equivalent to kayano? I think that could be my next try. Or maybe even Mizuno?

        • I actually just read something interesting: the Kayano 32's outsole durability looks to be much better than the 31

          https://runrepeat.com/asics-gel-kayano-31#outsole-durability
          https://runrepeat.com/asics-gel-kayano-32#outsole-durability

So might not be worth switching brands. This often seems to be the case with long running lines like the Kayano or Pegasus, where one iteration has a weakpoint that's later resolved

To answer your question: the 860v14 is NB's Kayano equivalent, but I'm not sure if that specific model would wear much better than the Kayano tbqh

          • @beltdrive: Thats so interesting! So i wasnt going crazy!
Ive also had a similar issue with Brooks aadrenalin 23's. However, the kayano 31 was much more comfortable.

I have tried on the kayano 32, however, i didnt really like the feel. It felt firmer and the tongue was no longer padded, but rather quite thin (probably having shoe weight in mind during the manufavturing process).

    • +1

My 31s are on 800km and the heal is worn out but the rest of the outsole is holding up fine. I expect they will last 1000km+ like the 30s I had.

      • Interesting. Its around the toe area that has worn the most for me! I do not understand it. It never use to happen. I use to be able to have shoes for a year or two before id need to think about replacing.

  • Anyone have access to the asics 35% discount? I think physio’s receive this discount, (not BF related) ?

    • +1

Wife Bought a pair last week with it (physio)

      • +1

How good is that! Any chance she wants to buy some superblast 2’s 😃

        • Crazy coincidence, exactly what she bought.

          In a men's size 11 too!!!

  • I wish Onitsukas went on sale too.

    • my missy really likes onitsuka, what's special there ? I am always fan of Adidas or nike.

      • +1

Think the Onitsuka Tigers are generally better made when comparing with Adidas/Nike. It's weird cause I had a few pairs ages ago and they were no where near the price they're commanding these days.

I got sick of waiting for the Mexico 66 to go on sale, so I bought the Adidas R71 and they're just as good.

      • they look cool. that's about the extent of it. same as any sneaker that becomes popular

  • $300 RRP for sneakers. what a time to be alive…

    • You think that's bad? At least there are cheaper alternatives. Your boi was $7.99 a dozen just a few months back! Talk about a time to be alive….

  • JD Sports have Kayano 32 in "Black" at $200, Grey at $190 and White at $180.

  • +1

Can get Kayano 31 at DFO for around $140-160

    • Thanks for the shout, I'll take a look!

    • which store?

  • Unfortunately only black colourway in 4E :(
