Boost Mobile: $105 Cashback on $305 365GB 12-Month Prepaid SIM @ TopCashback AU

1400

Amazing All Time Low price at $200 (after cashback). Boost has reduced the price from $365 to $305 for the 365GB 12-Month SIM. $20 cheaper than last offer.

  • Excludes International calls & texts.
  • 365GB for new activations.

  • Cashback is on the purchase of the physical SIM only. You can convert to eSIM after you have received the physical SIM. Activate the physical SIM first, insert and then convert to eSIM.
  • If you're a current Boost customer, you will need to port out into another provider (e.g. $2 Telstra SIM) and then port back into Boost. Please see the steps in my comment here.

For better tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the 'Get Cashback' pink button to the Boost website (not Boost app), use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.
  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories, $2 SIMs.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any gift cards, vouchers, or store credit for partial or full payment. Cashback is also ineligible on purchase of any gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, DNS AdGuard, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • Accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • Return to TopCashback to click the 'Get Cashback' button for each new transaction.
  • Transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted or negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Have to keep an eye on Boost my current deal with them doesn't end until April!

  • +10

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/935850

The other deal is the same price after cashback = $200 + 290GB & international calls/texts.

This one is 365GB, no international calls/texts.

I don't use heaps of data, but appreciate the coverage that Boost Mobile provides, the international calls/texts is a better value for me.

Anyone having issues with TCB tracking?

    • +3

      Yep mine didn’t track

      • +7

Can you please share browser details etc. Also, if you use wifi, please check your modem's DNS settings as we're finding a lot of people have AdGuard active without being aware. Classic example here. Cheers.

        • +4

TA is a hero ngl, here for the people!

        • I'm a Software Dev so I'm pretty aware of these things.

          • Used on 4G to avoid anything related to PiHole

          • Set Advanced Tracking and 'Prevent Cross-Site Tracking' in Safari settings to Off

          • Closed and reopened the TopCashback app

          • Went through start to finish in one go, all within the TopCashback app

          • Completed the transaction successfully

I submitted a missed cashback claim and I had only one click for Boost. So I'm not sure what more I can do. This is a very shaky process if even the above doesn't work.

          • @JSONBourne: Dumb question - but do you have any ad blockers, or browsers that block ads or redirect ads?

            • +2

@kickling: I turned all that off. I've had other TopCashback clicks work perfectly, but Boost doesn't track.

              • @JSONBourne: Yeah dunno - TCB has been the best performer out of the three apps lately. My Boost tracked very quickly last night for me. Hopefully TA can assist.

                • +1

@kickling: Yep not trying to kick up a fuss. Was just a bit annoyed given I followed instructions to the T and I'm waiting now to figure out what happened. Missed cashback claims take a while.

There's a Safari UI WebView component that TCB could use that natively disables anti tracking and adblock protection, the same as Messenger uses when you click on a link in app. I think that would be much better than having the user have to manually disable their own security to get it to work each time.

                  • +7

@JSONBourne: Hi again. Please let the claim process play out. I'm quite confident there will be no issues, and I'm here if you need any help at all. Thanks.

                    • +1

@tightarse: Thanks TA. Happy to be corrected if I got it wrong. Appreciate the great support, I'll PM you now.

        • I tried several times - different browsers, with all extensions disabled, cache cleared and got the same error. I see this error in the console - please pass it on to Boost for investigation.

        • Hi, I jumped on this when it was the $85 cashback and have just received my SIM today. Am I able to get bumped up to the $105 deal before I proceed and if so what steps will I need to take? Thank you for any information on this.

  • +3

I did the $85 deal and it didn’t track. I followed ALL the instructions. I’ve basically paid full price for a SIM now, not happy.

    • -3

      Submit a claim?

      • +5

I have. But now I have to wait 90 days to find out if it will even be successful. Many people in the other threads have had the same problem with Boost not tracking correctly.

I wish I just bought the outright discounted deals rather than this.

        • +3

Exactly this. Due to so many conditions to consider and all the "tips" you need to follow to get a successful cashback to track, I now am reluctant to go for deals that have a cashback to deal with.

I now just try find instant outright discount codes and forego the headaches of missed cashbacks and needing to chase it up. TA is great to reach out to I'll call that out, but ultimately still need to follow the missing cashback process which is a pain in the ass.

Don't have time for that, the whole cashback process should be streamlined and efficient already.

Miss Cashrewards as I never really encountered any issues with them. Shopback I've also had great experiences where the cashback is fairly seamless.

All this sht with ensuring "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" is disabled and all the "tips" you must follow, like using Chrome on iOS, only use cellular not wi-fi etc. is just all too hard if you ask me. Never needed to contend with that in the past.

          Just my two cents 🤷‍♂️

          • +1

@AnDyStYLe: I also use ShopBack (and Cashrewards in the past) and have posted their offers. There are also non-tracking complaints in the ShopBack and Cashrewards posts. I've had non-tracking issues with ShopBack and Cashrewards.

The tracking tips mentioned in my posts are to minimise/prevent tracking issues and would apply to all cashback sites. Sometimes non-tracking may happen that is outside our control. Submit a missing cashback claim and as long as the T&Cs are met, cashback is usually paid.

The cashback sites (e.g. TopCashback and ShopBack) would be similar in their tracking process and may use the same affiliate network. I was only trying to be helpful with my tips and disappointed to be criticised for the "shit" that I spent a considerable amount of time in writing and putting together. Not everyone knows about the tracking tips. You're not going to have tracking for example if you use a VPN for privacy or some browsers e.g. Brave which is meant to block tracking. Some Wi-Fi settings may block tracking and hence the recommendation to use mobile data.

Don't know why I bother with OzBargain sometimes to quote another member @wavesgreen

            • @trixieb: The whole consideration of "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" and only use cellular has just been since TopCashback. Why should I change this iOS default setting to otherwise? These were never a consideration with previous/current other cashback companies.

It was always ensure you use their iOS app to ensure successful tracking and cashback. This isn't that simple now with TopCashback, as this isn't the case as per my experience.

I won't discredit your posts and positive things you try do for OzBargain, I'm just simply sharing my experience, and that given so many misses I am now reluctant to use cashback as a means of saving.

              YMMV, caveat emptor etc.

Edit: Put it this way, I recently used TopCashback with the 40% off outlet adidas deal and it didn't track. Went via the iOS app of TopCashback. Needed to submit a claim. I later used Shopback app to purchase another 40% off outlet adidas. That tracked successfully after 30 mins.

I'm Switzerland, I don't have stake in any company. I just want effortless cashback. I won't lose sleep over a cashback that I don't receive. I'm just sharing my experience. Live and learn 🍻

    • I called boost and got them to cancel and refund (different deal), as the sim took ages to arrive.
They activated, then refunded me, I guess they have to activate it to "cancel" it.
The sim arrived a week later (I doubt it would activate).
They were easy enough to deal with.

      • +1

Thanks, same here and I'll do that too. @tightarse has been a great help in tracking the issue down. I'll cancel and try again and see if it works.

  • +2

Trying to purchase but keep getting sorry cant process your order after the payment screen - on my phone and laptop

    • same

    • Sorry to hear. Using a debit card and passport as ID seem to have better success.

If you are unable to pay due to "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG" message, please try the following suggestions:

      • Use a debit card (instead of credit card).
      • Use your Passport as ID (instead of driver's licence).
      • Use a different email.
      • Type your address manually.
        (i) Type any address and choose "I can't find my address" as shown here.
(ii) Add your address manually in the "Address" section shown here. It's below "Delivery address".
(iii) Vary a little e.g. St instead of Street, Ave instead of Avenue etc.
      • Vary your name e.g. Pete instead of Peter, Bob, Rob instead of Robert etc.

If you experience any issues at the checkout page, start all over again to ensure tracking. Click the pink button at TopCashback through to Boost website again.

      All the best.

      • +1

Tried different address, different card and passport and still getting Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

        • Give it a break and try another day. You may have to use a relative's ID to purchase.

  • are Vodafone or Optus resellers much cheaper?

    • vodafone and optus are cheaper alternatives but i find they are in terms of coverage pretty spotty in some areas

  • wow - i bought already but will this keep getting better for friday??

    • I cancelled my previous order and placed a new one to receive the New amount,

  • +4

Hmm cashback is basically a scam/gambling site at this stage when there is no guarantee you'll actually get it :/

  • +1

it's weird the more expensive plan doesn't include international calls

  • +3

I was about to pull the pin on this, but people's issues with the deal not tracking are making me nervous…

Maybe the $169 Vodafone deal is safer, that way if the 15% deal doesn't track, I'm much more ok with paying the full $169… rather than be caught out paying full $305 of Boost… Hmmm.

Can people please comment if tracking works for them or not? Maybe comment what combination of things DID or DIDN'T work …

    Thanks In Advance!

    • +1

I’m in the same boat as you. Tempted with this boost deal but peoples experiences are throwing me off a bit. I’m TCB or SB do a cheaper Vodafone deal for BF

    • @Stonecutter 909 @JAF For a bit of perspective, there is one person who had a non-tracking experience with this Boost SIM and has worked out what the issue is. There are heaps of comments of members buying this Boost SIM successfully with tracking in my other recent posts.

Please read the following tips and recommendations in the post description to ensure tracking. If you're unfortunate and it doesn't track, then submit a missing cashback claim.

TopCashback is similar to Cashrewards that you were a member of. As stated earlier, the TopCashback rep TA (who commented in this post here and here) is very helpful if any issues.

      In the post description:

      • +1

I just purchased… it tracked immediately.

        • Great to hear 😊

  • I haven't gotten this deal yet but FWIW I've always found TCB really good with tracking.

Trying to figure out how to go for this, my monthly plan with Boost doesn't expire till mid december, then I have to move to Telstra, then move back to Boost - sounds complicated. Maybe should just forgo the remainder of the month and do it immediately accepting that I lose a bit of my monthly allowance but save in the long run.

    • In the post description:

If you're a current Boost customer, you will need to port out into another provider (e.g. $2 Telstra SIM) and then port back into Boost. Please see the steps in my comment here.

With the $2 Telstra SIM card, don't need to recharge. Scroll down to the option of activating without recharging:

      • Hi there - yes I did see the Telstra SIM option already thank you. What I meant was, I assume this deal won't be around for long and my existing Boost monthly plan expires in a fortnight.

        • +1

These deals apparently expire midnight on 1st Dec 2025 (to purchase/order),

..then it'll need to be delivered, taking another couple of days… then you have up until 30 days (since purchase I assume) to actually activate the sim (to still get the cashback)…

So the way I see it… if you activate the actual sim in a fortnight… you still qualify for the cashback, no?

        • @dinglejerry I checked with the rep TA. $105 cashback offer ends on 1st Dec 11:59pm AEDT.
This however can be changed or cancelled at any time at Boost's discretion which TCB has no control over.

You can buy this SIM now and have time to activate within 30 days for cashback. Please read the tracking tips in the post description to ensure tracking.

          All the best.

          T&Cs:

SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase

          • @trixieb: Ah yes, thank you for this. So buy the SIM, port to Telstra on the $2 sim when my monthly plan expires, then move back immediately to Boost - do I have that right? I will go back and check the post you linked to. I just thought I couldn't buy the SIM as a new customer without porting out of Boost first?

            • @dinglejerry: Yes. Porting is usually quick. Choose a working or business day to port in case of any issues.

              • +1

@trixieb: No worries, I think where I was getting confused was thinking I had to be out of Boost before buying the SIM to receive the cashback. I was wrong it seems. Apologies.

  • Looks like the $200 range is about the best we're getting this year for Boost Mobile.

  • Must get activated within 30 days !!

  • Any chances to be even lower this Friday?

    • Probably not but the deal runs until December 1st so no harm in waiting

  • I ordered one of these around 4 days ago and still havent got the notification that its be posted yet. Has anyone else had this issue. Given how slow Aust post is, i imagine it will be at least another week for it to arrive once its been posted. Makes it a long time in actually getting the sim.

    • I don't usually receive notification or tracking with my purchase of 28-day Boost SIM card. Best to contact Boost support.

I'm in Perth metro. My last Boost (28-day SIM) purchase was on 30th Sep and I received on 7th Oct. It seems that Telstra/Boost have changed their delivery to regular mail. Prior to Sep, my Boost SIM cards were sent by StarTrack Express and they had arrived within 1-2 business days in Perth.

      • Thanks heaps. Weirdly enough it arrived an hour after i posted this. Boost said they would send tracking notification once it had been sent, but turns out this didnt happen but got a delivery message. Weird, but im happy 🤣). It arrived by Star Track express.

        • Thanks for the update. Great to hear Telstra/Boost have gone back to StarTrack Express.

    • -1

      Try esim?

      • No cashback on eSIM

    • I ordered one on the 21st, dispatched same day by Startrack from Sydney to Metro Melbourne, it's been stuck in Sydney since 21st. My guess is being a flat envelope, it's stuck in some sorting equipment somewhere… 😢

  • Kogan have a 650gb deal for $189. Much better

    • Not really, they are on vodafone.

    • Kogan Mobile uses the Vodafone network and may not work in some locations.

  • Can someone please advise how cashback works?
E.g if purchase this deal using my master card, will it automatically refund me $105 as the cash onto my account?

    • +1

You pay the full amount, and the cashback gets refunded after a certain number of days to your topcashback account which you can withdraw to your bank account.

      • Got it, thank you

        • +1

@Thatsgold Be prepared to wait about 3 months for the Boost cashback. It's not instant cashback.

Please read the tracking tips in the post description before you proceed to ensure tracking.

There is also a sign up bonus with TopCashback currently if you join.

  • +1

I only had a cash rewards account. I guess its time to make topcashback account as well

    • use a referal code for bonus savings

  • Can I buy two of these in separate transactions and get the $105 cash back twice?

    • Yep seperate transactions

    • You will have separate transactions track in your earnings page.

  • Tried TCP on my phone and again on my computer - followed all instructions and didn’t track.

Pretty frustrating having to wait 90 days to see whether they link the purchases!

  • when this deal will expire?

    • +1

$105 cashback offer ends on 1st Dec 11:59pm AEDT.
This however can be changed or cancelled at any time at Boost's discretion which TCB has no control over.

  • @JAF - Have you, or anyone else here, used ShopBack before? Experience good/bad?

I've noticed that their Vodafone cashback deals have gone back up in % again…

The source Vodafone Black Friday starter prepaid plan Deal is: 12 months, 200gb (up from 150gb), $169 (down from $250 ), and uncapped speeds.

The ShopBack black friday limited deal on that is going up and down on different days… posted a few days ago as 30% for the 12 month plan, then the next few days back to 21%… now since midnight I see it back up to 30% cashback again… for today only (with a timer counting down to midnight).
    https://www.shopback.com.au/vodafone?content_uid=rwJNZfZLSoC…

Unless one of these Boost/TCB 12 month SIMs goes lower again, I'm keen to try out the Vodafone deal… so much less initial outlay… and takes the 'after cashback' price down to $118.30 for 12 months! That's $ 9.86/month!

I know Vodafone might not be as good for some people, but many days at my WFH desk in suburban Newcastle here I am getting only 1-2 bars of Telstra/Boost signal (5G), and feel that calls that drop out/voice goes bad are my end (not sure though), so am considering the switch back to Vodafone… 12 months is a long time to be stuck with either one, wondering if the grass is greener, Haha.

Side note: I'm on the Telstra $1 SIM for a few days whilst sorting this out… From my testing, the speed tests I'm doing here, Telstra is DEFINITELY giving much faster speeds from 2 bars of 5G than Boost was! (like 200-290Mbps vs 30-50Mbps from memory)… I just did another test when it dropped to 1 bar… Telstra SIM still got 81Mbps!

I do feel Telstra is throttling Boost.

    Thoughts?

@Stonecutter 909 I use TopCashback and ShopBack, post their deals and contact both their reps.

I recommend using both. TopCashback seems to have better customer service, less errors and quicker to fix if any issues.

      I've created a comparison table:

      TopCashback vs ShopBack
United Kingdom owned (private) Singapore owned (backed by Westpac)
TopCashback AU est. 2023. TopCashback UK est. 2005 ShopBack AU est. 2018. ShopBack SG est. 2014

@Stonecutter 909 I'm a long time Telstra customer. I've Telstra prepaid on my main number and Boost on a spare number. I found Telstra to be better than Boost sometimes.

I've also used an expensive Telstra business phone plan at the same time and found the business connection more reliable than my Telstra prepaid.

There are anecdotal reports of Telstra prioritising their services where there's congestion:

Emergency Services > Telstra Business Customers > Telstra Postpaid > Telstra Prepaid > Boost Prepaid (Cheapest)

I prefer the Telstra network to Vodafone network. Telstra and Boost seem better and more reliable than Vodafone in my locations. This will vary depending on your locations.

Every time I try to purchase from Boost, no luck and I get "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG".

The Boost support have no idea and suggest I sign up using someone else's name on the purchase / agreement …. yeah nah.

    • I managed to obtain someone else's Debit Card and finally it worked …

      • For anyone's interest, I used my Driver's Licence, used the drop-down for finding my delivery address, and a Debit Card.

Also TopCashback has sent me an email to confirm the cashback has been tracked … BONZA!

    • I'm having the exact same issue, tried my info and my partners info and neither worked.

Sorry to hear. Using a debit card, passport as ID and entering the address manually seem to have better success.

If you are unable to pay due to "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG" message, please try the following suggestions:

        • Use a debit card (instead of credit card).
        • Use your Passport as ID (instead of driver's licence).

Both tracked, iOS app and cross tracking disabled. Used home wifi. Happy days

  • FYI to those experiencing the error on payment.

It's likely due to fraud detection. You can see the reason and score if you inspect the failed network request. Mine has been failing with scores as low as 35 (assuming lower is safer).

A Telstra employee commented in my previous Boost post:

I would encourage people encountering "Something Went Wrong" error messages to look up eCommerce Velocity Rules. Might be something worth adding to the troubleshooting.

      Google:

Ecommerce velocity rules are a fraud prevention measure that monitors the rate of transactions from a single user, IP address, or card within a specific timeframe to detect and block suspicious activity.

  • My purchase did not track (yet?). How long does it take to show as pending?

    • From a few minutes to a few hours depending on the batch reporting.

  • Tried every combination of manually entering address, switching between license and passport, trying credit and debit cards and still getting the "Something went wrong" and "Can't process your order" messages. Giving up now.

    • Take a break. It may work on a different day.

      • Tried again this morning. Still no luck.

        • Did you manage to get it to work? I've tried everything mentioned and still unable to get it to work including taking a break.

Is it the Boost website being terrible or is it from the TCB click through that causes it to fail?…

          • @m13: Same boat - any other recommendations?

            • @ilan1: @ilan1 I've now tried from another device since the mobile phone wasn't working; tried a laptop, result the same.

@trixieb what else is there that we can do? Or are we just out of luck for any TCB+Boost deals?

              • @m13: I got it working using my partner's details, drivers, shipping address and a debit card. It's a bit of a joke.

                • @ilan1: @ilan1 lucky. I've tried doing the same, though we only have one shipping address, but I've tried variations on that and it's just not working :( I've now wasted enough time that I could have probably found some casual work and covered the amount I was going to save.

All this bullshit just to purchase a sim card on sale. Why cant they just give us a promo code and avoid all this absurdity.
