Max SoloArt Junior 1/4 Classic Guitar Pack Black $58 Delivered @ DJ City

30

1/4 size guitar so suited to young kids aged 4-8ish who are getting started.

Looks like a decent deal, given the cheapest 1/4 size guitars appear to start at $80+ without shipping and no accessories.
(eg: https://www.bettermusic.com.au/valencia-vc101-1-4-size-class… )

This is $58 inc shipping and it includes the following accessories:
digital tuner, picks (2x), spare strings, guitar strap, and a soft gig bag.

FYI- my 8yo and 10yo are enjoying learning on this size guitar using the Yousician app- current annual subscription is $128AUD, but can be much cheaper (less than half that) if you use a VPN:

  • Can this thing hold a tune?

I haven't got this one (yet- just ordered one today)- but have something similar.

Yes they can be properly tuned and stay tuned while you are playing them.

Of course they don't sound great compared to a proper guitar (because they are 1/4 size and cheap wood/strings etc).

But they tune to the correct/same notes as a regular guitar.

Need to keep in mind that anything a 4-8 year old plays on a guitar isn't likely to sound fantastic regardless of what they have in their hands.

Something like this plays the right notes- it's just that the right notes don't sound great because of the size and cheap materials.

But sound quality isn't as important as practising where to put your fingers etc for most 4-8yo's.

  • I want to teach my son guitar. Can anyone recommend a program to go along with this? Maybe a teach the teacher type - I can play I just don’t know how to teach a 7 year old where to start and build skills in a structured way. Thanks for any advice

    • Yousician- my kids love it
