If you have access to education pricing this is the usual price. If you then stack that with the Everyday Rewards offer you will be better off.

how does the everyday rewards work?

      • Buy Apple GCs from Woolworths/Big W that have 20x EDR points. Then load up your Apple ID and buy online.

        • thanks mate and much appreciated.

A$2,543.20 at Apple AOC for same config.

    • I’m waiting for the back to school offer in early Jan to buy my MacBook. Hope it is better than all this.

The price is $2649.00 with 1TB no?

  • What do you think about the M6 MacBook Pro next year?

For the first time, I was planning to buy a MacBook Air m4 entry model. But change my mind soon to upgrade options. However, with this price, I can buy a MacBook Pro M5. Now, I'm considering MacBook Pro M6, I heard it's gonna change totally of course price also…

    Can I have a Macbook before I die?😮‍💨

Forget about M number. You want:
      - Macbook Pro (not Air). 14", you'll be using external 32" 4K monitor anyway, via TB4 dock.
      - M3 Pro/Max or M4 Pro CPU (not plain M5 non-pro as in this deal)
      - 1TB SSD, 24GB or more RAM (bit not 64GB)

      • Thanks @nuker

I doubt I'll be doing much productive work. Occasionally, perhaps? I've been searching for a MacBook I can use stress-free for ten years on my home desk.

        • :) then this is fine, go to AOC store and get it. Just not Air, Air suxx big time
Also check Refurbished Mac - they come as new.

          • @nuker: Why not air M4? What is the concern with this entry level Mac? My son is looking at it as a Mac he can afford.

            • @Blindfreddie: It mostly matters what you're doing with it. Airs are great machines and can accomplish a lot. I was using an Intel macbook air to study Web development ~4 years ago and it was pretty good back then. The newer M-series chips make them an even better work horse for the average user

Macbook Pro is for pro - "professional" - workloads. If he's not doing heavy Web development, or video/image editing, there's a good chance a macbook air will be fine. Only recommendation would be to get 24GB of ram for some future proofing.

      • For what they are saying you are going overkill. Something stress free? Of course itll be a macbook air or m5 based pro. They dont need any of the pro or max stuff. 16gig would be fine, 24gig if they want to have a crack at future proofing it.

An m4 air in a good deal is pretty awesome seeing discounts for it. An m5 air (m5 pro) is as powerful as an m1 pro, which is pretty awesome.

I'd suggest a trip to Apple Store near you. Air is inferior in many ways, display, cooling, case, connectivity.
Yes, 16GB is fine. Yes M5 (not M5 Pro) is fine.
Just not fkn Air, please :)

      • I wish Apple had a better naming system for the M chips

    • Early next year is the release of the M5 max and pro processors. You will be waiting a while longer for an M6.

I was able to get the same spec with price beat from officeworks for 2421.55 as emporium electronics have it for 2549. https://emporiumelectronics.com.au/MDE54X/A/

Just couldn't get space black but huge discount over RRP

    • Wow, $250 price drop in just one day! Wondering if I can return mine and try to get price matched for the new price…

    • But wait, this one is 16GB RAM (still a bloody good price). Yesterday the spec had 24GB RAM.
