Xbox Game Pass Core 12-Months Subscription (Download Code) $79.95 @ The Good Guys

110

12 Months of the basic Xbox Live! for <$80
with Easy 6% cashback
and a further 4.5% saving if you're with Bupa

Everywhere else with a simple click / collect or in-store seems to be at $89 currently for 12 months!

The old 'core' has now been renamed to Essential, BUT, it's a 1:1 trade, so buying a core voucher gets you 12 months of essential, which gives a few basic games AND importantly online access for bought games (like minecraft etc)

Stack this with - Bupa essentials (buying a good guys $79.95 voucher at 4.5% discount so $76.35)
and with TopCashback (6% of $72.68 so $4.36) -
Gives you a total price of $71.99!

I thought cashback doesn't track on gift card or voucher usage.

Agree, BUT…the games pass things seem to be a different type of product….they're technically niether gift card or voucher

Cashback is ineligible on any portion of the transaction paid with gift cards, store credits, 90-day StoreCash, Price Beat discounts, delivery charges, and taxes. Cashback is calculated on the total eligible amount that the customer pays on the docket after any price reductions have taken effect, and exclude delivery & GST.

This means if you paid with discounted voucher aka gift card, you won't earn cashback rewards.

        • cool bananas!, well, it's still $10 cheaper than everywhere else, fingers crossed :-)

      • Cashback tracked as $0 and my enquiry to TCB was replied to noting that it doesn't apply to purchase of gift cards. Not sure why you thought this would count?

        • Because I didn’t read the T&C, and technically it’s not a voucher or a gift card

Anyone got info on the cost of this to upgrade to ultimate for the 12motnh period after purchase?

    • If you don't currently have an Ultimate subscription, this will convert 40% of time left to Ultimate and you can stack a maximum of 3 years of Core/Essential before you do so.

You do need to pay for 1 month of Ultimate to make the conversion so you're best to buy a pre-paid card available for $22.95 from a retailer than the $30+ that Xbox would charge you online.

      • Still cheaper at$16/month?

        • They usually offer you an extra free month if you agree to auto-renew going forward (you can cancel this straight away) so can work out under $16 per month depending on how many years of Core/Essential you decide to stack.

You're basically paying an extra $10 per month over the base service for Ultimate tier with day 1 releases.

  • How are you stacking bupa discount with tcb??
Tcb clearly says cashback is ineligible for any portion of purchase done with giftcards
    Please explain

    • I'm probably not!.
      bought a discounted gift card.
      paid by giftcard

      Didn't read T&C
      posted on Ozbargain!
      gets learned a bit..

I have just downgraded from Ultimate to Premium.

So if buy 2 of these & then convert to Ultimate I will get just over 9 months for $160?

  • Dont forget you only get 40% of the time in ultimate. So for 10 months of core = 4 months of ultimate when doing your calculations

    • Ultimate is now $35.95 a month, thats not too bad

  • Thanks
