Bunnings have their own model numbers so they get out of the price beat. If you want your product at Bunnings you make a a new model number for them

Genuine question, is there any benefits in a powerboard like this over a cheapie Arlec one?
The quality of the MOVs are most likely to be better on the Belkin than the Arlec.
Also, check the energy absorption (kJ) rating.
It all really depends on your power board hygiene. If your in-wall cabling and you have CBROs in your switch board for every single power point you have, it's probably not a lot of difference. However, some people are quite crazy and put lots of power through those, like 4 heaters at once for example. It will cause fire if you buy the cheapie one and you don't have CBROs that will switch it off at the switchboard.

I think the reduced fire risk of a better board for a small amount more is probably worth it - the quality of a lot of bargain plugs/boards/adaptors these days is extremely variable, and some of them are very minimal internally, as in saving money by using the cheapest thinnest connections. I have one of these boards and it's nice and substantial, has hanging hooks, a nice switch, two usb ports, good surge protection and feels less likely to burn down my house.
Have one and works fine. Only annoyance is they didn't put a couple wider spaced outlets despite the large size!

Why don't they all have flat plugs. Majority of my use cases have them plugged into the wall and then something placed in front of them.

I have one of these already. Chose it because it has 900 joule surge protection. Many others are a lot lower.

same with me. Very bitch about the model number with Bunnings. Ask them to "price beat with HN please" and same issue. Model number of Harvey Norman and Bunnings are same and not matching with Officeworks so refusing the pricematch. At the end i have to look at the barcode of the product and show them that it is matches with Harvey Norman and then they did the price match.
I have wanted this board for the longest time (years), missed out on so many deals. But today, i think it's time has passed, with USB-A slots and not USB-C.

Not a bad idea! just got a house battery installed and may end up getting whole house backup instead. Should probably wait and see what I do there I suppose but I think this would be good as I heard NTD is susceptible to being fried

i have over 10 of these boards, couple still brand new. I think they are good and serve the purpose well. I have some devices permanentaly plugged into the USB port for years and never skipped a beat However i find them too big for what the purpose they serve, so where space is an issue like at the back of a TV then i use other boards. Otherwise everywhese else i have these.
However the new ones look a lot better now with usb-c ports

Just so others know. I got impressed by this reply and had JB price match this to $20.95 and bought a few - got home to find the thing is big - big enough to make the next power point useless. So, if you have a single power point - this could work. If not be prepared to sacrifice the second power point.
Ah that is annoying, I still need to get one myself so maybe this is a better option to at least compensate for the blocked 2nd outlet. Reviews on this one mention it's also massive.

About 1A or 220W per port. Better not to plug high appliances. But the chance of having 5 or more turned on at the same time is small for the average people.

I get the whole idea of surge protection and stuff, but a bit like quoting Bunnings RRP of tool batteries it seems a bit odd to me saying the power board is good because it's never missed a beat … neither have any of my power boards from the $4 generic to the Belkin PureAV I got decades ago from ol' Nintek (if I'm remembering the name correctly).
The more useful feedback is from someone who actually had a surge.
I have unstable above ground power, in the past few months it's taken out the dishwasher, the air conditioning and several lights.
Nothing connected to these power boards has been taken out. Could be pure chance, could be that they work. Either way, it's worth the $24 for me for well built power boards with 8 ports and 2 USB A ports anyway.
