  • Gangster deal

  • How does this compare to let's say the Ozito kit and the Stanley Fatmax kit?

Just started off building my kit.

    • +1

These are much better. These are brushless 18V tradie level tools.

Bought a similar set a couple of years ago and it has been excellent. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790231

I got Ozito and Dewalt. DeWalt is much more powerful and built to last. Even with this discount, it’s about twice the price of Ozito.
if just small jobs and DIYs, Ozito will be just fine.

    • +1

This is a great deal on a great kit that should realistically last a DIY user 10-15 years if you take care of them. Don't even hesitate.

But you might have to hunt to get the deal - looks like the link is down already.

    • Pretty sure this is all high end DEWALT tools, the circ saw itself is almost 400$, but it definitely depends on use case ofc, having a dcf860 to drive in a few screws a year is a tad wasteful. IMO I wouldn’t bother with the Stanley.

      • That's RRP though. At around Xmas last year I could get that saw + bonus charger + 5Ah battery for ~$275.
DCF860 also has the RRP of $400, but as an OzBargainer, I think it's "usual" price would be $200 max.

Anyway, this is a great deal, I agree.

Only high end Dewalt tool in the kit is the impact driver. The drill was top of the range maybe a decade ago, I'm surprised they are still selling them. The circular saw and grinder are ok, but nowhere near high end for Dewalt, that would be the Flexvolt models followed by the Flexvolt Advantage models, which are far more powerful. The reciprocating saw is too underpowered for most things you would use one for.

All in all, I'd say the kit isn't bad, but better deals come around often enough.

        • That’s a pretty harsh assessment…the angle grinder is solid. And the recip saw is the compact version which is great as a one handed tool. Everything in there would run rings round the Ozito trash and most ryobi

          • @OzzyAl: I never said they weren't better than Ozito or Ryobi. They just aren't all high end Dewalt tools. Every tool in the kit, aside from the impact driver, Dewalt makes several better versions of.

I almost never use my Dewalt compact recip saw and wouldn't recommend it. I like the size, but it is super slow compared to a full size one. For most use cases where it would be preferable to a full size, I have another tool that is better suited.

          Yes, I remember the deal for this combo of DCD1007 + DCF860 + 6Ah flexvolt + 5Ah + fast charger + a low entry grinder + $100 gift card for $500

        • yep in most cases of package deals, they do it to move items that aren't selling at all. And they're not selling for a reason

If you can find stock in store, might spend extra $51 to get extra $50 back.

    • Blades, drill bits and discs for $51 gets extra $50 back.

  • have added it in my powerpass account for a while for $664 and waiting for gift card promotion.
then it is out of stock everywhere

  • Do you still get gift card if you use powerpass and get delivery ?

    • gc can only be used in store not online

      • Thank you. Went in store
Guy gave me the kit for 600. Said 99 off because it was the last in store.
I didn't even ask for it. Hahaha.
Also gave me extra 5mh battery. He said there's promo on 5pc and above kits.

Very happy with it. You think i can still get the gift cards ? It'll be deal of tthe year for me if it worked.

        • Gift card doesn't harm, but only save you another $30. And you are so lucky to have such experience

        • Couldn't find the promo he was talking about. It seems to be only for other kits. Any links? Absolutely a ripper deal.

        • Here's the site.
          https://www.bunnings.com.au/campaign/redemption-gift-card

Yep, you got the deal of the year there, nicely done.

        • Similar situation here. Rocked up to Bunnings because it says instock but I ordered the night before but never received an email that my order is ready for C&C.

Went there, said there's none in stock and I mentioned I needed this as the offer ends tomorrow. Gave me $100 gift card on the spot and I'm likely to be able to eligible for the $100 egift card redemption since I bought it at the promotion period.

All in all, bought it for $499 which I reckon is a steal.

          No battery though :(

  • No link mate sorry. I should have took picture of the promo page thing guy was holding. Mind you it took them while to find out as what was the instant bonus. As when they scanned the kit. On their monitor a popup showed up. So that how it went. And finally after while they said ok you'll get extra battery.

Ordered this yesterday afternoon with free delivery, was considering cancelling, but to my surprise it arrived today. That was very quick turnaround.

Out of stock now, missed it

  • If anyone is still looking, get a Bunnings team member to scan the $699 sticker and ask them to check if any available elsewhere. There was one available at a nearby store in VIC which I picked up. The "youinstock" checker is not 100% accurate and you may still be able to snag one!

If there is one available, call up that store to confirm.
