  • Doesn't show as being available for me.

    • Shows up fine for me.

  • Any marathoners got any opinions on the longevity of nordtrack or similar treadmills? Seems horizon or sole is a better way to go.

    • I purchased NordiTrack 2450 as it was rated good for marathon training. ( Got lucky with Syd Marathon ballot ). Its a lot cheaper with recent deals compared to Horizon and Sole too.

      • Rated by who though? I'm looking for user experiences. It seems only the older models are decent from a quick google search. There plenty of complaints that the newer stuff has significantly dropped in quality.

    • The same company owns ProForm and NordTrack. I've run on both, and for some reason, I prefer the NordTrack. Can't say I've tried the horizon.

I love running on treadmills, I barely run outside, as I find it too hard on my body.

If I had the cash, I would get a TechnoGym; those things are next-level good. And yes, very overpriced.

    • I bought a used Nordictrack C1650 from Facebook Market place. Used it to compliment Ironman & Melb Mara training a year ago. Only treadmill I’ve owned. I’ve put 400km on it.

I was of the understanding to get one with a higher CHP, as it would generally last longer. I’m no expert.

Not sure I would trust any of the manufacturers to not disable the treadmill / iFit service and brick it after a few years.

Buy second hand. There’s plenty hardly used. And knock the price down if the manufacturer has already blocked any of the internet / iFit features, then go and use QZ (qzfitness) with Zwift for free.

  • Go for a walk outside!

    • My experiences in running 'outside' especially if you are just starting out is its too harsh on the joints which leads to shin splint and knee pain even if you purchase the best shoes. Spent so much money on physio visits due to road running injuries. Now trying out cushioned treadmill mixing up strength training to hopefully make my joints happier :)

      • Fair point. I clearly don’t run =P

  • Any recommendations for a walking pad that doesn't cost an arm, leg and kidney?

    • I've had this. Costway 3HP Treadmill 3-in-1 I bought on Amazon, it's good as long as you only walk, or really, really light jog.

  • We've got an older ProForm Power 995i treadmill in the house thats about 6yrs old, gets used daily.
No issues with it and i just do my own basic maintenance on it.

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed one.
Time to upgrade my LSG treadmill.
Run marathons 3-4 times a year but stopped training with the heat. Will see you at Sydney one 😀

    • i did too, lets hope we both made a good choice :)

  • Do you have a link to how to get the subscription cheaper?

    • Check IFitPro on ozbargain forums. Check your dm too, I have 3 slots available on my membership.
