  • If you just need it for keeping the path in order, buy it from a store with a smaller battery:
    https://www.mitre10.com.au/stanley-fatmax-line-trimmer-v20-1…

    • You pay more to get a smaller battery and a non-brushless motor? What?

      • Huh, didn't notice the brushed motor difference. Good pick up.

  • Picked this up a few weeks back when the mower deal went live.

Highly recommend, plenty powerful and the bump feed the best mechanism I’ve used

    • I have been using speed feed head with my AEG 18V brushless timmer, which I found the best ever head yet (even the copy is working flawlessly with random string) one thing I did to keep the string breaking off all the time is to remove teh string cutting blade from the guard, since then no issues with string
Is the bump feed head on this one wuld be better than speed feed head, link here

      • How is this Stanley kit compared to the Dewalt kit (5Ah kit is being sold for $269 - $50GC) and the Ryobi kit (brushless 4Ah kit is being sold for $299)?

I have the brushed Ryobi (the $120 one), which has the string cut every 2-5 minutes, right at the hole on the feeder. I don't know whether that one is a bump feed head or a speed feed head

        • as mentioned above, what I found out that whenever the cutter tries to cut the string it puts strain on it and instead of cuttign the string it pulls it hard and in turn breaks the string at hte hole, same thing happenign to me all the time btu since takign that cutter off I never had any issues. Maybe uncsrew the cutter and try for some time.

  • I'm all in on the Ozito brand. What would be a comparable Ozito model??

    • +1

The lower tier Ozito are all a bit average, but if you already have batteries, the new 36v Brushless is an absolute monster both in performance (and unfortunately weight).

  • Don't know about this one but I've been using the Bosch line trimmer and the string would break every so often. It's so frustrating. I'm looking for something more powerful and durable. Any recommendation?

    • I think same rul applies here, string doesn't break with trimming, it breaks when cutter tries to cut and doesn't do the job well in time (maybe not sharp or pullign it hard) try it without hte cutter an see if that makes a difference

      • Also much better otuin although double the price but it fatures Expand It and acc[ets all the AEG attachments, plus trimmer head can be changed to something like speed feed

        • Thank you, I don't mind paying extra for something that efficient and works well.
          Will look into Ryobi ranges
