Adam Audio D3V 3.5″ Active Desktop Monitor System $399 Delivered @ DJ City

130

The relatively new Adam Audio Monitors that released last year.
Very well-reviewed, and much more accessible to consumers than other studio monitors because it has USB-C connectivity (other monitor speakers require an audio interface or a DAC with RCA-to-TRS conversion).
Built-in DSP, built-in stands for angle adjustment, comes with two extra standmounts.

I actually bought through their StoreDJ website.
Big mistake. Got charged $399, but the order doesn't appear on my account, I haven't received any emails for order confirmation or receipt, and they haven't answered any calls for three days.

I thought they were a reputable business, but it turns out they are completely incompetent.

  • I've had a Wiim Pro Plus running these speakers as a living room music system for about a year. I use the Wiim coax out to a Fosi ZD3 to run balanced lines to the ZD3s. With an old iPad mounted on the wall, the whole family has found it really easy to use - and the sound from these smallish speakers is fantastic.

    • High-ish end compact small near field monitors for living room listening strikes me as an odd choice. Curious to know why you chose this option? Space considerations or do they project quite well? I've had a brief listen at Manny's but only able to really audition a desktop type scenario.

  • I got these a few months back and they work perfectly connected via coax to my Topping DX3 Pro+ (which is recommended for 24-bit over 16-bit via USB only). I also have the 6XX and Edition XS which I hardly use now that I have this. Recommend speaker stands and thick foam, not for dampening but because its vertical dispersion isn't the greatest and the tweeters can sit quiet low depending on your setup.

You don't think it's enough that they can angle themselves upward?

      • Totally depends on your set up. The range from the tweeters technically hit my face but I've found much better sound using the Kanto SE6 or similar height stands.

  • These are extremely halal, can highly recommend for WFH ravers. Surprisingly good low end and good imaging for gaming.

  • Got an Edifier S2000 Pro - is this considered an upgrade?

    • These are far better than any Edifier based on objective measurements.
