  • An annual membership fee for something like this feels incredibly wrong… Most of the issues you'd engrave would be permanent conditions. What would you need to update in your database once the bracelet itself is provided?
Why is there no ID only option?

MedicAlert isn’t just an ID. Yes, some conditions are permanent, but medications, allergies, or emergency contacts can change - and you can update your info anytime online or through our Member Services team. When a paramedic scans your ID, they see exactly what they need. Imagine if an allergy just said “dye” instead of “contrast dye used in MRIs,” or a condition was misspelled - small details like that can make a real difference in the care you receive.

The annual fee helps our team double-check every record to keep it accurate and up to date. It also supports our 24/7 emergency hotline, trained Member Services staff, technology that ensures paramedics see your info clearly, and ongoing improvements to the system. As a not-for-profit charity, every dollar goes straight back into keeping the service reliable, secure, and ready when it matters most.
