Important to note
  • Deepal were offering the S07 for $49,990 drive away only a few months ago. So this cashback deal undercuts it by maybe $1000 - $2000 depending on which state you are in, with the added bonus of 3 years of free servicing (worth $1231)

  • Deepal S07 received very poor reviews due to very poorly calibrated software on launch. There have been software updates released since that have mostly addressed the issues. There are Aussie Youtube reviews of the car post software update that review that, so its reflective of what you would actually be buying in late 2025.

  • Deepal (Changan) and Mazda have agreements in place in China to make cars. Mazda Australia are launching the Mazda 6e which is based off a Changan (Deepal) platform next year. They also have the Mazda CX-6e launched in China which is based off this Deepal S07. The talk is this will also be launched internationally next year. So if the platform/tech is good enough for Mazda, it might be a good sign? Worth discussing in the comments.

Deepal is not factory backed in Australia. They are run by by the importer Inchcape, who import/manage:

  • Subaru
  • Peugeot
  • Citroen (until late 2024 when they closed operations in Australia)
  • LDV
  • KGM (SsangYong)
  • Fonton

  • Highly recommend giving it a look and test drive if you're interested.

Have an e07 on order and the dealer service has been great, not pushy and tech not intrusive now.

The Tech Viking rates it over the Sealion 7 in a recent comparison.

    • +1

That E07 is a very interesting car! Not sure what I think about it honestly.

      • +1

I went and had a look, very well put together vehicle. Great design and build quality, high level of trims.

  • +2

Is it me, or does this have Lambo Urus vibes? Which isn't a bad thing.

  • +3

    Deep L

  • Hodl for Zeekr 7gt

    • +2

It'll be easily another $15k on top of this price.

    • different car - beautiful car, can't wait to test drive it.

  • +2

MY24?? They not selling them for 1.5yr

  • Hodl for refresh

    • Or for the incoming Mazda CX-6e (Mazda EZ-60) which is going to be based off this too.

      • +1

(legacy auto on its last legs)

      • better brand sure, but dealer experience here very poor, basically the sales guy got pissed i was examining my car brands and wanted me to buy "whilst his manager was away" ("2k off), i told him thank you no and basically told me to go to another brand

Indian cars have seriously come a long way. Was not expecting this brand and with that design

    • +4

      haha.
Its Chinese - owned by Changan Automotive which has partnerships in place with Mazda.

    • You funny man.

    • +4

Deepak is Indian, Deepal is Chinese, and Deepawali is an Indian festival.

      • Honda guy explains Indian and Chinese, that’s true multicultural nation. Well done.

        • +1

Ironically I haven't owned a Honda in a while. After the EK9s and DC5s, they got really boring. I did own a Jazz and a couple Odyssey after that just to support them, but not for performance vehicles.

  • +1

Shame no cashback on the E07 :(

  • +3

3 years free servicing costing $1231!!
EVs dont have much to service, in 3 years a Tesla servicing would be $150!!

  • I think it's wild Subaru is Inchcape and not… Subaru (or Toyota)

  • +1

This feels unlikely to be around in a few years (vs BYD, or even zeekr)

  • The DC charging rate looks to be woeful.

The warranty could be pointless if the company exits over the next few years.

This segment is crowded and this is not a good deal.

    • yes their sales numbers is peanuts, I will not pay that much money for a new entrant that probably wont last or be forced to offer large discount to pick up market share in the future.
