Does anyone know if its a global eSim or country locked? It asks for the activation country at checkout.

    • Normally yes if the SIM to be lock to certain region or country.

    • Might be dependent on the country you picked?

  • Thanks OP gonna use this for stopover in Malaysia

    • A quick stop over is about all its good for.

But most airports and hotels have free wifi so maybe not.

Normally these offers last for at least 7 days.

So better to get one that has been posted on OB recently with at least 7 days acess and more than 2GB data FOR FREE!

      Thumbs down from me.

      • Doctor phil, which deal are u talking about?

      • its good for us young ones to activate for the older parents / grandparents when they are travelling because they always have issues connecting to the free wifi at the airports.

    • Yes

  • tried, it asking you to input a start date

    • +1

In the banner it says "Select today's date when booking and activate your eSIM upon travel."

I picked two weeks from now and it sent it to me instantly and says it's valid for 365 days.

  • Anyone else get this?

    We're processing your booking
Thank you for booking with Pelago! We'll send you the voucher once your booking is confirmed.

Yes, you will get another email with instructions after 30min to 1hr.

      • Thank you. Was worrying as I put an activation date mid 2026 and saw others said they received it instantly.

Can you receive texts and calls with this?

    • +5

Really mate? Right on the title of this deal said "Data Only".

    • If you mean will vowifi work for your other SIM, depends on the device.

      • Not sure whether it is the device or provider. I found VoWiFi working in Sri Lanka on Boost without roaming activated on Oppo Find X8 Pro.

Please note that my comment is unrelated to a data sim.

Anyone have signed up to KrisFlyer just for the bonus 1GB? :)

    • Not me; did bother to log in to KrisFlyer for the bonus; not sure whether I'll remember to use the esim.

  • Thanks for updating the post OP. Signed up smoothly.

  • Thanks, OP. Got the email from Pelago. Do I install the eSIM when I am in the selected country (without internet access), or do I install it in Australia before travelling with internet access here?

    First time installing the eSIM.

    • You can install and activate it a day before travel.

    3 days kind of useless.
    Check out Jetpac promotions

    • Its perfect if you're doing a couple of nights stopover somewhere.. i'll be using it on my way back from Europe in Jan.

      • I only need enough data after leaving airport to catch a cab/Uber to hotel. Then just get a local SIM after

    • +1

It's free. Still a bargain. Why are the neggers coming the next day?

      • If you've ever stuffed aound with m
One or more esims at a time you'll know it not worth the trouble for small data and length.

        • +1

This is ozbargain, not AusMinimumEffort. I've seen people go through more hoops for less savings here.

        • Mate, you didn't see people went nut over deals that can get them $0.25 by just click few times at a web page? I would say the effort there may be almost the same as this - click here, login, click fee more times etc, then spent time watching the cashback then go complaining it didn't blah blah.

          • @timhn: I am aware, haha.

It used to be better scrambling over a free $1-2 back in the day, now 15c if you're lucky.
Anyway most people would be doing it whilst on the can, in free time, at work..

  • I haven't received the esim email. Only the email saying the confirmation is pending. I did it last night. Is this normal?

  • +1

Thanks OP. I gave this one a test and it's quite interesting - Frewie (Singapore) vendor, eSIM provisioning via Truphone/1Global (NL), the eSIM homing on Plus (PL) with my connection terminated in the UK (and BG) in a Sparks IP block, connected in AU via Optus (also attached to Vodafone but couldn't pass any traffic). The behaviour of this eSIM is a little hostile - get to 500MB remaining and it seems to repeatedly disconnect your session if you're using data heavily for (presumably) accounting reasons to ensure you don't run over your allowance significantly, and they seem to cap you to 5Mbit/s symmetrical when you hit this threshold.

    • Sounds like way too much trouble.

Have used jetpac and it's good. Most plans have to select the appropriate region of course.

  • Does anyone know can we register multiple if we have different numbers, but save the QR code to use on our one phone?
