Free 1 Month Pro Subscription Each for Referee and Referrer @ Wispr Flow (AI Voice Dictation)

50

One of those tools that once you start using it, you can't go back. You just talk naturally, messy, scrambled thoughts and all, and it cleans everything up into polished text ready to send.

How it works

Two ways to use it - hold down a shortcut key (like function) while talking, or go hands-free if you're the type who talks with your hands. Works across every app - Slack, WhatsApp, Gmail, even code editors.

The good stuff
  • Auto-removes all the "ums" and "ahs" in real time
  • Fixes punctuation and formatting automatically
  • Personal dictionary learns unique names/words and remembers them forever
  • Command Mode (Pro): highlight text and say stuff like "make this more professional" or "turn into bullet points" and it just does it
  • Understands context - if you correct yourself mid-sentence, it only keeps the correction
  • 95%+ accuracy even with technical terms and accents
Pricing
  • Free plan: 2,000 words per week on Mac or Windows. 1,000 words per week on Flow for iPhone
  • Pro: $15 USD/month (gets you Command Mode + unlimited)
  • Students get discounted pricing
Referral offer: Sign up with a referral link to get your first month free.

    Is this advertising?

    • this is advertising.

Nope, just a regular user who's been using it for a bit.
    Thought it was worth sharing

    • Clearly it didn’t fix your punctuation automatically.

      • You can actually set the accuracy of the punctuation per app. The setting they would have used for that comment is the middle one (not sloppy, but not mega formal). Leaves out the final punctuation mark, for example

  • so i guess free speech was a lie. soon i may have to pay to see my own screen with my subscription eyeballs

  • I literally downloaded this tonight before this post and was blown away. But no Android?!? Might be my 13th reason to jump to iOS tbh

  • I don't understand why you don't use built in voice dictation that is highly accurate? Android, ios, Mac, they all have it built in. This is extra steps and involving another company having your data as well?

    • Because: 1. It is not accurate, 2. this can do formatting and 3. Wispr learns spelling of words you frequently use, so if you are using this for dictating at work it is much more efficient and effective.

You think this is more accurate than Apple and Google's latest models? This is an old OpenAI model released in 2022 wrapped into an app https://openai.com/index/whisper/

Shhh we don't like facts round 'ere

        • Confusingly I think that despite the names, OpenAI's Whisper model is totally unrelated to Wispr (which I think uses a version of Llama)

    • Great question, I thought that too. I've only had it a week and I'm enjoying it so far.
It's main upgrade to voice dictation is that you can correct things mid-sentence and that the auto-formatting features, like dot point lists, seems to work well.

One downside I have come across is that sometimes it fails to capture recordings on the first try, which can be pretty frustrating.

    • Google's speech recognition is wildly inaccurate. Unless I speak like a Texan, then it gets it right first try!

And yes, it is set to English (Australian) and I've reset my voice model a gazillion times. It's for every Google device.

  • I use this regularly, i think it is fantastic

  • the main gripe for me is that on iOS it switches to the app, then record, then switches back to the original app then you have to remember to turn off the record, like it's more annoying for me than it helps
