It's difficult to answer because Qantas points don't have a fixed value; they can be worth anywhere from 0.4 cents each to 3+ cents depending on how you redeem them.
If you just want to save money then wait for another 20x Everyday Rewards or Flybuys offer on Apple gift cards since with those you're essentially getting 10% of what you spend returned to you in the form of points that you can easily redeem on groceries, fuel etc. Choosing Qantas points really only makes sense if you're someone who plans to book business or first class reward flights and knows how to do it (it's seldom easy).

Since 2,000 Everyday Rewards points = $10 and also convert to 1,000 Qantas points, each Qantas point is worth about 1 cent.
So earning 10 Qantas points per $1 is worth about $0.10 — roughly 10% ?
That's certainly how I account for Qantas points. If I get more value than 1cpp, so much the better…
It also makes it easy to work out the 'price' in points - e.g. if a one way MEL to SYD flight is 9200 points and $57 in taxes/fees it's equal to $149. This means that it would not be a good idea to use points if the cash price is $139, particularly given you get 800+ points for a cash fare, but may be if more than $157 depending on how much the points cost to acquire.

You can get points for lots cheap. But booking Mel to Sydney on points is weird way of spending it. Use it for long haul business like Sydney to nyc or Mel to Dallas etc. That way you get almost 20k worth of value for 2k aud

@unhuman: I'm well aware that long haul business class is better value generally than short haul economy. The point was to explain how I approach calculations.

$100 gift card to get the 1000 points for 10 SCs if you're doing the status credits on the ground offer (shopping category)

Anyone know (or can guess from past trends) when this is likely to expire? Would like to put it on next month's credit card statement if possible.
If it's the same expiry as the points-sale, it's " ending on 10 Dec 2025 10:29 pm (AEST) while stock lasts". That's most likely I guess.

Does anyone know the % discount equivalent for this deal?
