    If it's anything like last time then be prepared to wait at least 2 weeks for the points to be credited. Their terms say up to 6 weeks which is very slow compared to Woolworths instantly crediting them.

      yep there definitely was a problem last time, contacted fly buys support they said you couldn't get a support ticket till at least 5 business days after the purchase. checked back with them once a week with the standard "were working on it " eventually they put a banner on their website saying they were aware of the issue and it would be resolved soon, eventually the points came through

    It will take at least 3 weeks to get the points after multiple calls to Flybuys. Make yourself a favor and wait for the same Woolworth deal to get instant oints.

      similar issue, it's not instant.
      Called them and they told me it takes up to 48 hours.
      My points were in the next morning, so less than 24 hours.
      i'm in no rush for the points, i have too many and just transfer them to velocity points anyways.

          a few years ago itunes and appl gift cards were seperate. we used to get 25% off itunes, any credit in your itunes even from those days can now be used on hardware. but 15% or more wont come back.

          bought gift cards 3 times last 3 years. had tampered cards in the pack all 3 times. luckily i was able to resolve the situation, but could have lost the money the first time. 2nd and 3rd i opened the gift card before paying for it and checked.

      Absolutely agree. Last time this did not track and missed out on a load of points. Helpline does nothing. Even flybuys number is on receipt. Avoid.

    Just a heads up if you want to use them in Apple stores, don't redeem them to your Apple account. You will only be able to place orders online and delivered to you if you do that (you can't even order online and pick up in store). I spent hours with Apple customer support to figure that out. It's not possible to transfer them to Apple Wallet since Apple Card is not available in Australia yet.

      It works now. I added multiple apple gift cards to my account from the Woolies deal a few weeks ago and then paid in person at the Apple Store from the credit in my Apple wallet

        I tried to tap my wallet I store today to pay for a phone and it did not work. Error message saying it can only be used online. I had to purchase using click and collect.

        This was apple vouchers from Woolies loaded on my Apple account.

      I paid for an iPhone in-store using the balance added to my Apple account from GC last week. Did you try to purchase immediately after it was redeemed to your Apple account? Staff from Apple store did tell us that there have edge cases where payment from Apple account failed in-store.

        Staff in Apple store said I can add the "Apple Card" in Apple wallet app then top up the Apple Card using my account balance. But when I tried to do that it's always error message saying you can't do it now. Then I rang the customer support and they said the Apple Card is not available in Australia. Later I checked online and seems it's the case. Did you use the Apple Card in wallet app?

          I redeemed the GC to my Apple account (you can do this in App store) and then added the Apple account card to the wallet app and tap to pay in-store like you normally would with Apple Pay. It works on iOS 17.6 or later.
          Note that you won’t be able to add the Apple account card to your wallet if you don’t have a balance. You can try adding $1 to your Apple account from your debit card to test it out.

      years ago (when iPhone 13 was the newest) I have had this problem where I had to do "click and collect" due to I have the credit in my account already.

      I have to wait till next day to collect the iPhone, it doesn't allow me to grab it straight away although I was in the store myself at that time.

      but even then I still much rather redeem it into my account straight away because the GC can be easily tempered and redeemed by scammers.

        I don’t think paying with Apple Balance in-store was supported in Australia back then (only in the US and perhaps Canada from my recollection). I had the same experience as you back in 2021 but managed to pay in-store recently.

          thanks for the explanation, that totally make sense now.

          but either way, even if it doesn't allow to pay in-store directly, I'd still redeem the GC into my account straight away and wait for 2nd day pickup or delivery. I can't risk leaving the card activated and sitting there waiting for scammers.

      There's been some issue with Apple gift cards lately; during Black Friday, I wasn't allowed to place online pickup orders. I tried two Apple accounts, using either the gift card or my balance, thinking it was due to a promotion. But today, I couldn't place a pickup order even when buying a phone, so I went to a physical store. The physical gift card worked fine, but my balance was unusable. The staff seemed unprofessional, explaining they didn't know and telling me to contact Woolworths… I didn't want to waste my time, but I successfully placed an online delivery order.

          The attendant will check the card and approve it. Then just before paying, you tear the packaging and check everything. If everything ok, then pay. No trouble.
          If not ok, then don't pay. Also no trouble.

          Only trouble is if everything is ok but you still don't pay.

    Hi stress levels with this. Not just the fact that Coles won’t credit your bonus points for about 2 weeks, but the chances of getting tampered GC’s is very high.

      can't use gift cards to buy gift cards, it will give an error when you try to use them.

      I've had mixed results buying gift cards with the prepaid coles mastercard at coles - but the prepaid coles mastercard's worked with no issues to buy discounted gift cards at woollies, and vice versa.

      no point double dipping, you can easily use Coles/Woolies GC to buy everyday groceries, and you can easily use Coles/Woolies MasterCard GC to pay for bills. Double dipping doesn't gain meaningful discount either way…

    If you have the choice to shop at both woolies and coles and you want to buy Apple products I would suggest waiting for the next woolies gift card bonus. Just an easier process.

    Anybody know how they enforce this? Is it a per-store limit, or will it literally cut you off if you put 10 gifts cards at 2 different stores (5 each) through your Flybuys account?

    Not sure what you meant by blocked for instore/online use. Had 10*$200 cards purchased under different flybuys on Wednesday morning, loaded them on to Apple account at the checkout itself, ordered a phone for pickup later and had that picked up in the afternoon. Waiting for the points. Thanks OP

      Literally the staff scan the code it says "not eligible for use". Called 133MAC who said that it could only be used for delivery. Tried to make a delivery order online and while the card balance deducts from the final total, the order fails to process. Called 133MAC again who needed to escalate to some back end card team who will re-issue new codes in 24-48 hrs. Glad your order was successful.

    Bought on wed morning - (1) opened GCs in store to check code is ok before paying, (2) loaded into apple account on the spot, (3) bonus points appeared in account on friday, (4) went into apple store saturday and paid with apple balance using apple pay. all worked fine and no issues. Thankfully.
