While we’re at it, I thought I’d also include a chatgpt generated summary highlighting why the book deserves praise.

The Horse and His Boy deserves praise for its rich themes and compelling storytelling. Unlike many other entries in The Chronicles of Narnia, it stands alone as a self-contained adventure, making it accessible even to new readers. Lewis blends vivid world-building with moral depth, exploring courage, humility, and identity through the journey of Shasta and the talking horse Bree. The tale’s pacing, humor, and moments of genuine suspense showcase Lewis’s talent for crafting narratives that resonate with both children and adults.

The book also shines for its deeper commentary on destiny and personal growth. Shasta’s gradual realization that he is more capable and valuable than he believed mirrors universal experiences of self-discovery. The diverse cultures and settings enrich the narrative without overwhelming it, and Aslan’s subtle guidance adds emotional weight and spiritual symbolism. Altogether, the novel’s blend of adventure, character development, and philosophical undercurrents make it a standout entry in the series, deserving recognition and praise.

Mine was Gemini. I personally think a book about treating other cultures like they are inherently inferior or bad is one of the worst messages you can give to children. There's no shortage of courage and suspense in other more wholesome children's literature.

I think it's one of the best things you can do. You don't teach your children that cultures who view women as subhuman should be criticized and seen as not-the-same-as-us?

Do you hate women for example?

@adehmar: All cultures are guilty of negative things. You should call out the behaviour, not all members of that culture. White Christians are a monitory worldwide, if the rest of the world one day suddenly chose to write-off white anglo saxons they probably could. Which is why you shouldn't blanket vilify entire races or cultures.

As usual, people like you show how deeply racist they are.

I'd rather teach them that than have our own government who seems to hate us teach them that we have to just let these other cultures steamroll us into zero trust degeneracy because we are bad people just for speaking up.
