Thank you. Purchased Apple and Netflix Gift cards. Was going to order a second round but decided to read the extended version of terms and conditions:
Important to note: The promotional credit can only be redeemed once per customer on eligible items.

    • "eligible items" basically means "shipped and sold by Amazon AU" (excluding gift cards/etc).

    • Does that mean you can only use the promo credit on eligible items or you can only redeem this $10 promo once…english is my second language..haha

Much easier for Google Play than the whole Everyday rewards 10% back business. Using it to pay my Google Storage subscription

    • Can only see $20 gift cards. What am I doing wrong?

      • They all seem to be disabled at the moment…

However you can go into them and can click a higher amount, ie $500. When they're not disabled..

        • Working now

  • Can use credit to purchase this?

    • +1

You can use promo credit, but not gift card balances

      • Thx, can't choose pay by gift card balance when checking out

        • Correct, only promo balances (i.e. Amazon courtesy credit or a refund) can be used.

Would someone care to tell me why people go out and buy gift cards? Or like why are these deals so popular? Do they have friends that they are giving it away for?

Or is it being used as a future "credit" because you KNOW you are going to buy from that retailer so it's effectively a 10% off whenever you choose to use the gift card??

    • +10

People have annual or monthly subscriptions… e.g. I have annual google storage which is $150 a year, you will use it regardless especially within a year. Bank interest is only 3% so 10% discount with a gift card you are going to use within a year is better value than leaving it in a bank.

      • This is my exact use case too

    • +1

      yes

    • Got an upcoming birthday party at Timezone for my son - so I know I'll be spending that money.
15% off using these gift cards is lucky timing!

I rarely ever buy gift cards for others, it's always for future 'credit' because I am expecting future spend at that retailer.

  • My $100 Apple eGift Cards purchase came with $10 discount (paid $90) and also the $10 promotional credit. So $90 and $10 promotional credit for $100 Apple eGift Cards.
editted: my bad, $10 discount was from the previous Netflix purchase.

  • Is it just me or does it read like if you purchased $1000 worth of cards in a single transaction, you still get $10 in return.

    • +1

It reads a little like that, but it is genuinely 10%. Buy $1000 of cards and you'll get $100. (Assuming there is no limit; I bought $600 and got $60 just fine).

      • You cannot buy more than $500 per account for Apple cards apparently.

I have purchased said $500, and I've only received $10 credit..

        • I bought DoorDash cards, very strange

  • Is Apple sold out?

    • Seems that way, however I had two in my cart total of $1000 and it still listed the promo on checkout

Scratch that, they cancelled the order…

    • Looks like it and Netflix as well

  • Won't let me buy Google Play Cards. Weird red circle with line in it.. :(

    • I just bought a few GPlay cards - it might start working for you, too. :)

  • +2

The Amazon website appears to have had a meltdown, so tipping they may be available again later.

  • It's not letting me buy Apple GC….. Edit: And now it has worked.
Someone above has said it's $10 per $100, that's not how I read the T&Cs, can anyone confirm?

    • +1

      I received $10 for $500 Apple Card…

I read it as, $10 for $100 and above not $10 per $100

  • My understanding is that the bonus you receive depends on the type of Giftcard, Check the oriiginal post. Some are a straight $10.00 Promo Credit (Netflix and Apple) even if your purchase is more than $100.00.

Others are 10% or 15% off Giftcard value. I assume that these are discounts, not Promo Credits.

  • does officeworks do pricebeat on this or not anymore?

  • Can we get this promo credit on both personal and business account?

  • Can we use the google play gift cards to pay for YouTube Premium subscription?

    • Yes. You have to add it as a payment method at payments.google.com.
