    1299 + 30 = $1329 so yeah about $100 cheaper but still a meh price.

can you get them with out the plan? because I don't want the sim or plan

    • Not sure but I guess you can try some way to get a cheap prepaid sim from coles or wws. I just checked my $10 plan could be selected for the purchase with the existing plan.

well its not for me for one and its going ot someone overseas so a australian sim plan is usless.

    • +2

If you're really keen, you can get 1 month for $12 then cancel the sim

Its easy enough to get 5% off JB gift cards. So really its only an extra $30 off realistically.

Digidirect has a slightly better price with an extra 5% Discount.

    • It finished on the second day of Ozb posted

      • They also baited people, it was awaiting stock.

Now it’s delayed past Christmas and they’re saying they’re pre-orders

They’ve been in trouble with ACCC for doing this before.

Looks like you missed those 10% apple gift cards from both Coles and Woolie.. If you bought those 10% GC and ask Apple to price match (within 10% range) also happen to travel oversea…

    • Yeah…they are always out of stock in the coles around me. Also, a bit worried about the scam of it

      • +2

Need to check the package thoroughly (seal must be perfect), load the credit right outside store, if anything happen reach out to staffs they already knew what to do now. Get in early and check around the aisle corner, I got mine not in GC area, but hooked around the aisle corner near fridge.

  • How good is this phone really? I have an iphone 11 that can’t hold the battery for 6 hours without charging.

Is this price worthy the upgrade? I already have an Amaysim sim.

    • +3

Best upgrade in last few years

    • +2

It’s the best base iPhone model in years.

      • yeah that's what I heard to. it uses parts from previous gen Pro model.

but one thing I don't hear much about. is the fact they cancelled the Plus model for the 17. and they have the $2.5k "Air" instead which apparently is a major flop.

so yeah for big phone users (I don't get it myself, the only real benefit I see is the extra battery size/life), the 16 Plus is the last one probably. given how apple does things.

I can hear apple's voice on how they ended the Mini, and cancelled the 17 Plus. "we knew you guys loved the small phone, so we cancelled the 17 Plus model in this year's line up, which makes the normal sized 17 the smallest phone in our line up! amazing, I'm sure you will be impressed." -Tim Apple

For the base model very good. You get so much more value than precious years for the price.

    • I have an iphone 11 that can’t hold the battery for 6 hours without charging.

hmm makes me feel not as bad. I got a iphone 12 recently.

tbh it's not doing so good though. apps take a few seconds to load (like BoM shouldn't take that long right? I'm staring at the BoM logo for a good 4 seconds plus), compared to my friends iphone 16 apps just open instantly. also it seems like some apps are just not optimised for older devices, so the chip inside heats up doing nothing after closing the app. I think it's still running and bugged or something. I have to put the phone down on something to cool it down. if I keep using it the chip makes the battery heat up faster and the whole phone gets hot.

I can tell the chip heat separately because it's a much smaller area that gets hot compared to the battery.

      not great.

    • I would say yes. My partner just upgraded from an iPhone 11 too that had battery issues like yours. Initially was looking for an older model but they're not discounted by much. It's worth it to pay the extra $150-200 to get the latest iteration, and going from 11 to 17 is a mahusive upgrade.

The 17 is sold out in a lot of places btw, probably because a lot of people who would normally get the Plus version are just getting the base model due to the value to price ratio.

  • iPhone needs to have big discount like current M4 macbook air, say RRP$1700 then got them for $1300 via Costco, almost 25% off else very MEH price …

    Apparently it's a "meh price"

Anyone tried getting a price match at officeworks?

    • +1

You need to add a plan with Amaysim which means no price match!!

  • Is this how the previous promotion worked?

If Woolworths had a 20× points Apple Gift Card offer and you spent $1400, you would earn:

    28,000 points

Redeemable for $140 in Everyday Rewards Dollars (about 10% back)

Unfortunately, the offer has already ended.

  • Any experiences with Amaysim sending an opened box phone when it's supposed to be new?

    • +1

I paid on Friday and received it next Monday. The phone is brand new, and the delivery asked for my ID check. Personally, I am satisfied with all the experience this time

      • i was sent an opened box phone and still waiting on them to determine an outcome.
