Probably the Aldi cheap vac is enough

  • 👆I used to be a fan of wired vacuums until I got my Dyson cordless.

OMG the amount of time that machine saves me compared to my old traditional vacuum is incredible. It also works far better than my old traditional vac without a power head.

This Miele vacuum doesn’t have a power head either, they aren’t cheap to buy and add to it, without one it is almost useless on carpet.

Yeah nahh. What sort of wired vac were you using? I have a basic Miele, C2 thats nearly 10 years old and it still sucks like the proverbial. It's fine on carpet imho. Low pile at least.

I agree with you BUT the Miele is built better and will outlast any cordless vacuum

The ease of cordless is worth the trade-off. Being able to grab a cordless vac and be cleaning in seconds is far better than having a higher suction, longer lasting corded vacuum.

I'd have disagreed with this in the past, but the proof is in the eating..

Got a cordless upper/mid tier Ryoby stick vac and it's pure ease of accessibility is gold.

          Main is the Miele.

The cordless is a bit of a pain to empty, nothing like the ads show where the cover flips open and the contents gracefully fall into the bin.
More like a cloud of dust and then digging into the sides of the container for the things that are wedged in there.

Also the cost.. was more expensive than our Miele.

But.. little spill, cat dragged some litter out of box, all the small things… so so easy and i hate that it is.
          It's making me lazy :D

@virtual81: Yep. For people in larger homes with lots of carpet a good quality bagged Miele wins on all the vacuum metrics.

However, having a cordless that can be used to clean up small areas quickly is fantastic. In less time than it takes to get the corded vac out, plug it in, unwind the hose etc. the corded is just about done and being put back.

    • My V8 battery and powerhead brush didn't last even one year.

      • Well you’re lucky it has a two year warranty then huh?

I was a sceptic early on but came around after I used them and saw quite a few people who have owned them for many years without issue except maybe a battery change after five or more years.

  • Is this meant to be a replacement for the C3?

    • Pretty sure it’s the replacement for the C3 family all rounder

      • I think the Guard M1 is the replacement for the C3.

The Guard L1 is a higher end model with more gimmicks:
        - Wifi
        - Different buttons
        - Hepa
        - Digital display
        - Tool storage different

  • this doesnt have the turbobrush head, does anyone know if you can buy it separately

    • Turbo brush comes with L1 cat and dog or $136 at Amazon

      • it doesn’t come with the l1 guard allfloor

    • I got a third party one off Amazon for about 35 bucks it works great. Hygieia brand
