On sale is this Eureka robot vacuum cleaner and the second generation version of their original E10s. The main upgrade seems to be the suction which has jumped from 4000Pa to 6000Pa. This one offers a bagless auto empty dock allowing you to remove the dustbin and empty it directly instead of messing around with dust bags.

Keen to hear some opinions of people who have this product!

    • There's a few older threads! People were recommending it at $500~ so i bit the bullet.
Also was rated #1 on vacuumwars.

It seems "clueless" but hey for $200 thats fine.

      • Oh wow. Didn't know that.

        How have you found it?

        • I just bought it.. not arriving till monday :)

          • @aong152: My quick review
            1) very quiet, compared my mates roomba 650 series. Not sure how good the suction is
            2) the pathing is 1000x better than roomba 650, very efficient. It does the same section multilpe times but i think this is intentional
            3) i can see my apartment (80sqm) mapped out well in the ui. It gets a little confused on a mirror.

for $229 i think this is a very good deal. I've only had it for 2 days so will have to wait longer for the map to "disappear" as per others complaints.

            • @aong152: Good to hear.
I ordered mine on the 7th, still hasn’t shipped, but says it should arrive mid next week 😔

Also have a look at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/938792 better suction but no mop/auto-empty dock

I bought one in May 2024 for an apartment. It works just fine for maintenance vacuum. Navigation works fine. Bagless dock works well. It does loose one of the brushes, every now and again, on a bag strap or similar.

A workmate with 2 inside Huskies killed his in 2 weeks.

For $200 it is a bargain.

    • I'm surprised the vacuum was survived that long, haha.

Having to use dustbags has been one of my main gripes with these auto empty docks, good to see this doesn't have one

  • Does this fill the water tank, or empty the yucky water?

    • Just empties the dustbin. There's no water filling with the dock.

  • Thanks @Clear

Reviews on Gen1 are mixed, but mostly positive and generally better than other budget vacs. I couldn't find any reviews on Gen2, hopefully it's an improvement. Seems a pretty good price.

thumbnail looks like a roomba trying to merge with a blender in some kind of power rangers megazord fusion

  • Would this be better then the Lubluelu SL68Plus?

  • what permissions does the app need ? I refused to load the mi app for my roborock S5 due to it wanting every single permission on my phone (including photo storage & contacts), "here's your vacuum, give us all your personal data".

Roborock has been fine with no app, but now I've got a rug that it destroys and I want to map around it

  • Bunch of reviews on the amazon.jp site, need an account to filter through models so I've ss them. Seems very positive

  • OMG… waited for ages and then order got cancelled today

  • I’ve used mine a few times now. First couple of times it stopped an hour or so into cleaning, dunno why maybe lost wifi, but now it’s working very well. I’ve mapped the house, marked off rooms, and now we can pick and choose what rooms to clean. It does a brilliant job. House is mostly tiles, but with a few mats. We folded the tassels on the mats to underneath, which stopped it tangling.

Has anyone worked out how to identify if it’s Gen 1 or 2?
