The bonus box is the kicker here, good deal OP

    • -5

Nah, my thinking is that all this is probably worth way less than $179 anyway even with the twin drawer. Those tool boxes are cheap plastic/polypropylene foam construction toolboxes, similar to the cheap $11 Craftright boxes. I know this may look hype but look beyond the hype and you'll see the cheap construction.

I have these boxes and don't know of any foam in them? Other than maybe the insert foam but that wouldn't be in this set. I bought my original set 3 years ago and am not a tradie but I have put it through good use in home renos and trackside and rally car support and they have stood up well.
I add to my collection during 10% off sitewide at TKD to build up my set and have put all my 1/2" adapters, extensions and an impact socket set into one of these little drawers and they don't flex with the metal slides.
The drawers are small, but because I am not putting them into the tray of a ute, but into the boot of a sedan, it makes this size system much more manageable and user friendly.
If these were being used for my job and I could write-it off, I would go Milwaukee Packout or maybe the new Makita range (I run Makita tools but DeWalt storage). The new Tough System 2.0 from DeWalt is too bulky for me.
Also the plastic wheel will irritate if you move the set around a lot on uneven surfaces. I have ended up going with the dolly wheel base and this allows the unit to be rolled around the shed or house easily. And without having to tip the stack to move it. To relocate, I just unclip the stack and carry them around.

        • Foam doesn't refer to styrofoam. Foam refers to the construction method. It's even in the DeWalt spec sheet for these. It's called foam construction.

      • Nah I bought the pack without the bonus for $169 last year.

Similar deal on here efor $139 but doesn't have the 2 advanced totes.

This is a good deal. Pull out drawers are very useful because once you stack you cannot access anything.

      • +2

You're thinking is wrong, especially since craftright don't have stackable tool boxes.

        • -1

          I'm saying the build/make.

  • Does the bonus box stack and clip to the drawers?

    • +2

      Yep it's all tstak.

    • +2

The bonus box is the drawers but yes they'll all click together in whatever stacking order you want. The drawers are good, I've got the double like these and the single deeper one which is suitable for drills drivers etc vs the shallower double draws more suited for fittings and accessories.

  • Good deal, but confused about delivery. $63 standard and $32 express?

  • Are the 7" wheels:
    plastic or
    rubber or
plastic rim with rubber tire ?

    • +1

The one I have from Costco is full plastic wheels

    • +1

      Fully plastic.

  • -1

Cant believe people still fall for this price trap you paying for 4 of them not 3 + freebie. This tstak plastic is thin and cheap touch as well

    • +2

Ozito need to compete with these then we can have chinese buget versions vs israel asking-for-more versions

      • +1

Ozito did have a modular tool box storage system but it was pulled off market as fast as it was introduced.

      • The Ozito set was called Ozito Connect. It was a rebadged Einhell E-Case system, but they only released the 3 case rolling set here in Aus. Einhell have a lot more available. https://www.einhell.fr/en/search-result-page?q=e%20case

Another mistake Bunnings made was initially introducing it at $199. They then dropped it to $149 and then $129 I think, before it disappeared from the market. Way too high to begin with.

Here is a link to it the Ozito.. https://www.ozito.com.au/p/3001150-cnct-t/

        • Dang 129 I prob would have given it a crack just so I could rock up to site and while out the Ozito tool box set

  • are these compatible with the original 1.0 boxes?

    • +1

      Yep

  • +1

Thanks! Missed out on the previous tstak tool case kit for around 135. Don't mind paying little bit more for a newer system. Already got the 29$ tstak boxes and this would help complete the set

  • Man a scrolling down ozb too quickly, I scanned the title as "Dalek" and the thumbnail on a phone looked like one too lol, at least for a split second…

Adding some info here for anyone looking at getting into tstak.

Both Repco and AliExpress carry a similar set of drawers that are NOT compatible with DeWalt tstak as the clips and locating plastic don't align. Was less than half the price of the DeWalt when on sale, but the quality is not there.

Plastic is thinner, the drawers catch and are not smooth like the DeWalt. They are irritating to use.

Something to keep in mind, once you buy into this system and want more drawers, you're looking at ~$90 each.

I only buy tstak when it's cheap (eg the McLaren 3 piece kit for $134 or the medium boxes for $29) and the drawers rarely go on sale.

I believe the craftsman versastack system (US) and the Stanley fatmax system are compatible, but I haven't found them cheap.

Interested if anyone has found a cheap solution for lightweight portable drawer tool storage. Tstak is perfect for the job but $90 per drawer set feels steep.

    • I switched from Tstak to Redline from TKD. Bigger but more practical.

Hanging off your comment to mention…

Both Repco and AliExpress carry a similar set of drawers that are NOT compatible with DeWalt tstak as the clips and locating plastic don't align. Was less than half the price of the DeWalt when on sale, but the quality is not there.

TSTAK/Fatmax can be sat on top of the Repco/Ali kits only. Position it correctly in the centre and clip on the first side with a bit of force and the second will follow. I'm not the only one who has done it

Stanley fatmax system are compatible, but I haven't found them cheap.

Mitre10 stock a lot of Fatmax and sell it cheap during large sales. Their equivalent set of this goes on sale for the same price regularly without the redemption.

Also, the UK has a much larger range of tstak containers. Sometimes found on Amazon via UK or AliExpress cheap during big sales.

      • Legend. I have only tried stacking tstak drawers on top of Repco ones. I guess I didn't try hard enough. Also didn't try other tstak containers on top of them. Will have another go after work, cheers.

  • I believe the craftsman versastack system (US) and the Stanley fatmax system are compatible, but I haven't found them cheap.

Although they look very similar to the DeWalt ones, I can confirm that the Stanley Fatmax Pro Organisers (like this one: https://www.bunnings.com.au/stanley-fatmax-pro-storage-organ…) don't fit to the TSTAK boxes.

    • +1

Correct. It needs to be Stanley Fatmax Pro Stack to be TSTAK compatible. Just to be extra annoying.

    • Or if you're really desperate people have designed adaptors to 3D print

Clear is right it needs to be the fatmax pro stack not the fatmax professional stacking organiser… It's close though.

Side note the Bunnings one of these are a cheaper version, Sydney/Total tools have metal clips and a weatherproof gasket but cost $59 or somewhere around there. The Bunnings deep version literally lists "waterproof seal" but it doesn't exist on the product itself and has plastic clips

  • +2

changed from $179 to $199 before my eyes just now…

    • +1

Same. Would've bought at 179 but now it's just back to normal price isn't it

      • Going to try and pricematch with Sydney tools at $179 but no mention of bonus drawers.

        • did you get them to match at all?

          • @smeng: Submitted, it's not instant like GG. I haven't gotten an email back from them. IDK if they price match in store?

            • @Jazza2400: i was going to try in stock, i literally was about to drive to the store and purchase it but that $20 increase is a bummer

    • As I was ordering it too…fml

    • Argh! Was just about to head out the door to buy it at $179. Now I won't bother

  • @mbcd when the deal is no longer obtainable please click the Expire button.

Do not increase the price displayed in the title, as that would cause the votes to become misrepresented, thanks. A price increase of $179 to $199 is significant.

    • Got it, would it still be worth a repost given the bonus offer still stand albeit at a higher (but still discounted) price?

  • when I orderred this morning, the store showed in stock. Now I haven't received any confirmation email and it shows the store out of stock. Hopefully they won't cancel my order.

    • +1

Still in stock when I look. Some stores also have it available for pick up.
      Though it's not $179 anymore.

      • Received email from Total Tools. they said out of stock in my selected store (currently still show in stock in the website). and asked me to change one of three stores. I chose one. After 1 hour, emailed me that store out of stock as well. and asked me to choose one of two stores. I chose one. After 1 hour, emailed me that store only can supply 3-in-1 tool kits without bonus. and gave me two choice. 1. take tool kits without bonus. 2. cancel the order…. what a drama!
