Seems like a pretty good price for an OLED + the latest generation of Intel Core Ultra 9 + an RTX5070 in a 15" laptop.

Specs: https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Legion_5_15IAX10?M=83F0005KA…

This CPU is significantly faster than the AMD version(s) of this laptop: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/6492vs6397vs6658/Intel-…. The 275HX is also more efficient and faster than the 14900HX/14700HX, for somewhat better battery life at around 7 hours of video playback, but is behind the AMD version in terms of pure efficiency: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQOvHqDXX-8&t=447s

It should still be a relatively portable device with decent battery life, while being extremely good at multi-threaded tasks. Keep in mind that you're paying for the OLED, powerful CPU and portability rather than pure gaming performance.

Why? Genuinely asking as someone who doesn't know much about laptops.

depends what you want the laptop for… also op included the review and comparison between the AMD/Intel version of this laptop so worth the watch, rather than going by anything marshmallow has to say. I tend to stay away from gaming laptops if portability and battery life is the main reason you want one, for those your way better off with a macbook or an intel Lunar lake cpu (usually called Core Ultra 7 258v or similar) AMD's Ai 340/350 can be hit and miss depending on the laptop manufacturer and how they've tuned the power usage and the size of the battery included… (again this is just if you want battery life and portability otherwise just watch the channel posted by OP he does good reviews on gaming laptops and which are the best ones).

@Caped Baldy: Haha thanks! I discovered his music through Samurai Champloo in the 2000's and his music's had a big influence on me at the time. Since then he's usually my online username. His name was Jun Seba. :)

Marsh exists to literally post 'deal sucks" on every single PC deal. It's best to ignore him.

2.5k for 5070 and oled is a perfectly decent deal.

my legion 5 hasn't had any issues several years later, baring one fan becoming too noisy, which was a pretty cheap fix

  • Does lenovo still use the low temperature solder these days? Heard it's caused a lot of instability issue.

Lenovo prices will be going up very soon with the RAM prices going bonkers. Get in now.

  • I've got the i9 14900hx version, so far has been flawless

  • Got a similar model and have been pretty happy with it. If you see the live chat pop up while looking at buying connect and give asking for a discount a whirl, have had success in the past getting an extra $20-$50 knocked off items with Lenovo. YMMV

  • You can get a 7i pro 5070ti on Lenovo outlet for this price if you are patient

    Beware of Lenovo customer service.
    - Shipping delayed by 3 extra weeks beyond the 6–9 day estimate.
    - After 4 weeks, still waiting for refund.
-Every time, support promises refund in 48 hours , nothing happens , Very disappointing experience.
